Let’s Hear it for the Girls!

DSC_0113

Screen Shot 2016-06-07 at 6.21.13 PMHello Friends,  It’s my turn to be your hostess over at Just Us Girls and this week it’s all about us GIRLS!  I have challenged you to make any type of girly card and or project of your choosing!  Simple huh?  I also need to take a minute and give a BIG THANKS to Carol for being such a fabulous Guest Designer this past month!  We loved having you with us and hope to see you in our gallery from time to time!  I can’t take credit for the original idea (of the bib) for this card as I found it HERE on Pinterest. But boy oh boy or should I say girl oh girl I made it my own and it sure was fun and easy to do!  Okay, I couldn’t leave the boys entirely out since I have an only son myself, so here you go!  Some of you may have seen this boy card before!  If so, I apologize.  As for the girl card….The cover plate, and sentiment, and tag are from MFT.  The cute elephant is from Verve. The ruffle is a die from Spellbinders I do believe, and that tiny bow is from Paper Smooches. The Boy card…the paper is SU, the boat is Verve and the rest is the same.

Pink and Brown…

DSC_0110

STB ToppingsHello friends,  The summer is racing by and so are our challenges over at Seize the Birthday.  Can you believe that it’s the end of July already?  I sure can’t! And in another week I will be back at work trying to stay cool. Anyhoo, let’s change the subject and talk about our next topping option over at Seize the Birthday!  For our ” topping” this time, we have one of my favorite color combos; Pink and Brown.  I started off my morning on Pinterest as I often do, and came across this card HERE that I decided I would love to Case!  If you enjoy Pink and Brown as much as I do I hope you will consider stopping on over at STB and joining us!  This card was made with a combination of Gina K Designs stamps and Stampin Up.  Take care, Nanc’

Wishing You a Par-fect day!

DSC_0122

Hello friends!  Hope this post fines you well and your weekend is off to a great start!  Today’s card is for our Photo Week at Just Us Girls.  I recently have taken up the game off golf and this photo wasn’t to difficult for me as I have the perfect stamp set to use from Gina K Designs.  If you find yourself puzzled on what to do with this Inspiration Photo, come on over to Just Us Girls and check out what the entire team did along with our guest Carol, I am sure it will spark your creativity! Not all of us went with the literal golf theme!  I used Prisma colored pencils to color the image and chalk to make the sky and the grass. I used one of my favorite EF from SU (Lattice) to add texture to my golfball.

Hope you have a tee-riffic day! Nanc’

How Beautiful…

DSC_0095

Hello friends,  I had a chance on Saturday to make a card for some other challenges that I have been eyeing this week. I was also in need of a thank you card and I really wanted to make something special.  The two challenges that inspired my card are the Mod Squad and the July Inspiration at Verve. I started off making the striped background with those beautiful colors using a SU stencil.  I then proceeded to do some ink lifting after I sponged the two smaller card panels. I love the effect of something so simple as water! I then decided the panels still needed an extra something so I heat embossed the hearts on the bottom and top of the two pieces. The butterfly is also heat embossed.  The leaves were sponged in the tangerine color before they were cut out with a small Sizzix leaf die.  All the stamps are from Verve!

I hope you are having a fabulous day!

We finally got some much needed rain yesterday to help make this heat a little more bearable. Take care,  Nanc’

Remembering you!

DSC_0094

Screen Shot 2016-06-07 at 6.12.24 PMHello Friends,  Happy Weekend to you!  It’s Color Week over at Just Us Girls and boy do we have a beautiful color combo for you!  It’s Coral, Pink and Yellow.  Let me just say it may not look great together on the graphic, but boy oh boy am I in love!  I found a card (by Laura Bassen whose work I adore) HERE that jump started my creativity but I wanted to make it my own, so I did.  I decided to put in the empty white spaces in after I divided it into thirds. I knew I wanted to use one of my favorite Verve sets Poppy Birthday along with one of the coolest techniques…emboss resist. I will be remembering this layout, and will be using it again, for that I am certain.

Here is another view of my card so that you can see that two of the flowers are popped up with dimensionals.  Please come over to Just Us Girls, check out what my teammates and Guest designer Carol has done this week, an join us!  You might even get selected as our next Chic of the Week.  Take care, Nanc’

Bold and Bright!

DSC_0078

STB ToppingsHello my friends,  I hope this summer is finding you well and you aren’t melting like we are here in Florida! I can honestly say that this is one of the hottest Julys that I can remember.  Luckily for me I have an indoor hobby that I enjoy!  Poor hubby is out in his shed building me side tables for our guest room. I don’t know how he does it, but I love him for it! This card was started with my fellow STB teammate and good friend JoAnn at one of our local craft stores.  And by started, I mean the image was stamped only.  I decided not to do it at class, and brought it home to make it with my own personal touch.  The image is from     and the grass is from MFT.  I colored it with my Spectrum Noir pens. I know it’s not colored like most people would color it, but I like the way it turned out. I am still learning how to blend colors. The sentiment is from Verve that I use all the time!  Please consider coming over to Seize the Birthday and joining us for or “Bold and Bright” topping this next couple of weeks….we would love to have you! Remember the topping is always and option and not required.  The DT and Surprise Party Guest Mynn did an incredible job as always!

Take care and stay cool,  Nanc’

Sponging!

DSC_0046

Screen Shot 2016-06-11 at 11.46.27 AMHello Friends, Hope this weekend is finding you well!  It’s Saturday and time for our new challenge over at Just Us Girls! Vicki has a great one for us,  she asked us to incorporate sponging onto our card and or project! I had such a fantastic time making this card!  I decided to get out one of my neglected Gina K Design stamps to attack this challenge. (Out West 2) The waving wheat is a block stamp from Stampabilities. This card was made about a month ago for a very dear co-worker that retired and has a huge love of horses, as she has two herself.  If you have any questions on how I made this, just let me know! You can also check out some videos like I did from the talented Theresa Momber, and she will get you started! She has so much talent! Please come on over to Just Us Girls and check out the rest of the cards from our very talented team and Guest Designer Carol Mayne.  On a side note… My hubby and I took a red-eye home from Seattle Yesterday, so to say I am still a bit tired is an understatement.  I don’t know about you, but I can’t sleep on airplanes.  So between the 55+ miles we walked in a week’s time, the 3 hour time difference, and some serious jet lag (as the computer seems to be swaying) I don’t know which way is up. LOL  Not to mention, saying goodbye to Ty always puts me in a tail spin for at least a few days. We had such a wonderful time with both Ty and Sandra (his fiance’) and hope it’s not to long before we are all reunited once again.

Hope you have a fabulous day! Laundry and grocery shopping is in my future…How about you?  Nanc’

Summer!

DSC_0064

Screen Shot 2016-06-07 at 6.06.10 PMHello Friends, We are in the middle of Summer for sure here in Florida as the temps creep high into the 90’s and I so wish I had a pool to jump into. So since I don’t have a pool in my backyard, I made this card in hopes to help me cool down a bit! Also, it just so happens that over at Just Us Girls this week our word is Summer!  The girls and our new Guest Designer Carol Mayne (WELCOME CAROL) have done a fantastic job!  This little card came together quite nicely and quick! The waves were made with my CM cutting system that I still adore to this day!  The sun is a die from Lawn Fawn that I added a face to, the penguin is something I have had forever and I colored him with Prisma pencils, the sentiment is from Stampin up and I jazzed it up a bit with some dashes. Please come on over and check us out and while you’re there consider joining us, heck you may even be chosen as our next Chic of the Week.   Take care and happy creating,  Nanc’
