Happy Birthday Banner

Hello there, It’s the second Thursday of the month and time for the next Topping at Seize the Birthday. Barb is our wonderful hostess over on the STB blog and she chose Put Your Sentiment on a Banner as her Topping. Easy right? When I was writing this post and looking at my card I realized it has a fall vibe to it and here it’s the beginning of summer. Oops! I wish I would have realized that a bit sooner. Oh well, I can always save it till then! The team and our two Surprise Party Guests –Denise and Bonnie did an incredible job with this challenge, so I hope you will go over and check out their amazing work and join us!

Card Details: DSP for my background, A MFT Cover Plate, the coneflower is from Honey Bee Stamps. I did some shading on the flower to bring it to life using some Oxide inks. Added a sentiment banner and a few clear gems and I was done.

Have a wonderful day, Nanc’

Cocktails

Hello, It’s Saturday and time for Color Week at Just Us Girls. I have a birthday card for you today using a brand new to me sentiment set from MFT called Raise a Glass. The set is wonderful but the prime reason I had to have it, was for the one sentiment that I used on today’s card. It just makes me chuckle every time I read it.

I love using Oxide inks to blend with but then I forget that when you use glue under your embellishments that the glue reacts just like water. I am sure you can see exactly what I mean. It is a bit frustrating but not worth scrapping the entire card. Luckily for my blue cocktail, I used Copics.

Card Details: DSP and Sentiment are from MFT. The cocktail dies are from Tim Holtz.

Before I go, I want to take a moment to welcome our newest guest over at JUGS-TK. Tk, we are so happy to have you designing alongside us this month!

Now, please head on over to Just Us Girls and join us for Color Week, won’t you?

Take care and happy creating, Nanc’

Guesting at The Coffee Loving Blog

Hello, I am absolutely thrilled to be guesting with you all this month here at the Coffee Loving Card-Makers Blog! Thanks for having me, Amy!  Anyone that knows me knows that I live and breathe coffee. In fact, I am on a first-name basis with the staff at my local DD. 😆 Hubby says I need an intervention or we need to move because it’s just entirely too convenient. I think he is wrong on both accounts.

Today I have a coffee card using one of my all-time favorite stamp and die sets from the Greetery who happens to be a super sponsor at the Coffee Loving Card Makers Blog. The stamp set is called Cozy Cup which I have linked for you. I also have used another product from the Greetery called the Cozy Up Coaster.  I think these fun products are must-haves if you like coffee as much as I do.

I love this polka-dotted DSP for my back panel that I have cut out using a stitched rectangle.  I next found this great scrap of grey and white patterned paper that I thought would look great for my coaster die. Pink and Grey make a great color duo, doesn’t it?

I used a mix of Stampin Up inks and Catherine Pooler Inks to ink up my coffee, cup, spoon, saucer, and foliage.

The sentiment; sitting here thinking of you- comes in this same set and I think the script is so pretty! I stamped it using my go-to black ink-Versafine.

Thanks for coming by here today and I hope my coffee-inspired card either makes you wanting another cup or inspires you to start a card of your own.

I will be back soon and in the meantime…Happy Crafting,

Nanc’

High Tide or Low Tide…

Hello, It is time for CAS Week at Just Us Girls and sweet Lisa Elton is our fabulous hostess. What she wants us to do is use a silhouette on our card. Boy did the team and our fabulous guest Claire make some amazing cards that you must check out.

I know you have seen me make this background before but I just love it. I like that the break in the stencil makes the seafoam.

I would like to take a moment and thank Claire for being with us this month at JUGS, we certainly have enjoyed all your fabulous cards. come back and see us when you have time.

Card Details: You know I love to make ink backgrounds, so that is what I have done on today’s card. I used the Watercolor Wash Rectangle stencil from MFT, and straight piece of acetate for my horizon, and some Oxide inks to make my simple background. The stamps I have used are from one of my favorite Stampin Up sets- Hide Tide. A ten-minute card at most, with fun results.

I am also linking up over at Happy Little Stampers for their Anything Goes Stencil Challenge.

I hope to see you in our gallery at Just Us Girls this week! Take care and happy crafting, Nanc’

Greatest Guy by Par

Hello, I am working on cards for the store and made a Father’s Day card for two challenges- TGIF where the Theme is You’re the Man, and the Tic Tac Toe Challenge using the middle row of Texture, Free, and Stripes/Plaid. You have to look closely but the golf balls have texture and so do the golf clubs. Not to mention the deckled edge of the center white die cut.

Card Details: All products are from Stampin Up-Golf club die set and Golf Clubs stamp set-both retired. The DSP is from MFT. I was inspired by the colors and layout of this card over on Pinterest.

I appreciate you stopping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day! Nanc’

Happy Birthday

Hello again, I have definitely found my mojo again post-vacation. YAY! Now if I can just get my Vertigo to go away and this terrible toothache taken care of, I will be 100 %! I loved the colors at The Color Throwdown so much that I went ahead and made another entry. I will warn you that I have become obsessed with this Strawberry Patch die set from Spellbinders, so you might be seeing more of it very soon.

Card Details: I thought it would be fun to make some pink strawberries and perhaps even some checkered stems. I love the way it turned out. This time I inked my strawberries with pink dye ink in hopes to get a more vibrant color. I also inked up the leaves as well. The stems are just patterned paper. The polka-dotted background is from Sunny Studio-Frilly Frames and the scalloped frame is from MFT. Remember the Strawberry Patch is on sale right now, for 10.00!

Celebrating You

Hello, I am struggling to get motivated to get back to card making since returning from vacation and I know the vertigo isn’t helping things. So I decided the best way to spark some mojo is to CASE myself. So that is what I have done today. Here is a link to the card I am copying.

I am also playing along with the pretty color combo over at The Color Throwdown. The colors are; Pink, Lime Green, and White. It certainly screams spring or summer, doesn’t it?

Card Details: Stencil is Honey Bee Stamps, the Mums and leaves are from Pink and Main, and the greeting is an oldie from Verve. The long stem coming out of the flowers is from Sizzix…I do believe.

I hope you have a wonderful day and a great weekend ahead. Nanc’

Rawr…Is Hello in Monster

Rawr…It’s the middle of the month and time for our next Hues of Colors at Color Hues. I am a bit jet lagged as I just returned from a ten-day trip in California and Hawaii, so I am going to get right to it!

Julie B is our wonderful hostess and I absolutely enjoyed working with her color combo. Thanks, Julie! I decided it had been a while since I made a scene with my MFT dies, so that is what I did. When I first started putting this card together, I had no intention of my house being occupied by a cute little monster, but I love how it turned out.

I am going to add my card over at Happy Little Stampers-Anything Goes with Dies Challenge.

Card Details: MFT- 4 sets; Picture Window, Fundamental Furnishings, Take a Seat, and Potted Plants. The monster is from Your Next Stamp and so is the sentiment. I used a bit of Copics and Prismas to color the monster and made a soft cloud sky behind my window using MFT’s cloud stencil.

Now, I certainly hope you will head on over to Color Hues and check out what my fabulous teammates and guest Joanne James have done with these hues of colors, and then play along. I was certainly inspired by all of their creations.

Take care, Nanc’
