Shabby Chic

Hello Friends,

Spent the day with 3 Talented Crafty girls yesterday and had a wonderful time!

First, we did a craft rummage sale at our local Art Store, I made a whopping 21 dollars…LOL

Next, we went to lunch at this great place by the water in Palmetto

called Riverside Drive Cafe.

Last, what is a get together without a little shopping?

We made a quick stop at Hobby Lobby!

IMG_0857

I was thrilled to finally meet one of my fellow DT members from Seize the Birthday too.

JoAnn Burnham she is as sweet as I thought she would be…NO sweeter!

A while back, JoAnn was kind enough to tell me about Sue Lelli, and after

I stocked her blog for a few weeks, I had the courage to ask her if she would

like to meet for lunch and we talked non-stop like we had known each other forever.

Sue L. has introduced me to Mixed Media and is UBER talented at it!

Susie Morris and I met online at Stamp TV a few years ago and hit it off

right away, she is one of the most generous people I have ever met and

I am so grateful that we crossed paths.

Feeling Blessed!

Anyhoo, onto my card for today!

My blog friend Donna (sure hope to meet her someday, she is to funny)

is hosting a Shabby Chic challenge over at Stamp TV

and time is running out, but I wanted to make sure I

supported her in her GD position over there!

Here is what I came up with!

stv

Forgot the matching envelope!  I didn’t have any cream envelopes

so I decided to cover the envelope with the matching DP and added

the sentiment that is also inside the card!

stv2

The Design Paper is from Colorbok and is called Wild Rose.

The sentiment is from Gina K and is called Birthday Duo.

I used my Cuttlebug to cut out my doily shape,

my flower stem and my double scallop.

Finished it off with lots of distressing and some embellishments.

Thanks for stopping’ in…I so appreciate all your kind comments and visits!

Until next time,

Nanc’

Freshly Made Sketch

Hello Friends,

Today’s card is for this great sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches.

When I saw all the circles and then remembered I needed an upcoming Birthday

card using balloons…I knew I could blend those two things together perfectly!

IMG_0009

FMS Final 123-001

In hindsight I wish I hadn’t started putting the doodle dots everywhere with a pen.

I cut out the 50 using my Cricut and the balloons are made with a MS punch,

along with the small hearts.

The sentiment is from Close To My Heart in the Birthday Occasions set.

Some pop dots, ribbon and black twine and that sums it up.

Have a spectacular day and find sometime to be creative,

Nanc’

2abdf5a563032cbfab94049c9d54d177

Thanks Julie for your beautiful work!

Info about my tag!

The paper is a mixture of recollections and scraps.

The sentiment is something from the Dollar bin at Michaels.

(or should I say $1.50) LOL

The hearts are from Verve in the Take Note Stamp set.

The balloons are a MS punch.

The tag is from Stampin Up and I drew the dash lines.

The rest is just pieced together from this and that!

I also just drew my strings with a marker.

This tag is for my post over at STB….

Inked Die Cuts

IMG_0002

Hi Friends,

Over at Just Us Girls today Sue V has challenged us to a great Technique.

Screen Shot 2014-01-24 at 7.30.30 PM

It’s called Inked Die Cuts and you can find a helpful video right HERE!

Isn’t her card wonderful!!!

If you just can’t get the hang of it, she is offering an alternate technique,

to sponge ink on the die cut while it is still in the die to shade around

your image or sentiment and give you a clean white/light border.

So are you up for the challenge?

I kept it clean and simple this week, but really enjoyed trying something new!

I used a Colorbox pigment ink called Treasure to ink up my spellbinders oval die.

I had to give it a second go around as I had ink everywhere

but on the die the first time around.  LOL

The heart EF is from Stampin UP.

The sentiment and arrow is from Michaels.

Now here are the links to get you started!

And don’t forget to visit Melissa….our Guest Designers blog too!

Merry Monday

MM GD

Hi Friends,

It’s  a Merry Monday indeed!

I am thrilled to be a Guest Designer this week over at Merry Monday!

A huge THANKS to Lesley and Bonnie for this opportunity!

Look at this Great Inpspiration photo that we had to work with this week!

Screen Shot 2014-02-02 at 4.48.48 PM

The requirement is to use a stocking and or stockings on your card.

My card was inspired by the colors, the stripes on the stockings,

and the holly berries that are peeking out of one of them.

The sentiment is from VERVE …the Holly Jolly Christmas set.

The stocking is a pattern that I have had that I shrunk down just a tad

and cut out with scissors.

The holly leaves are a die cut from my school. (Shhhhhh)

The berries are a hole punch.

The EF is called Square Lattice from SU.

Lots of distressing and some hemp and that about does it.

Please won’t you come on over to Merry Monday and

Join the talent team and I this week?

We would love it if you would!!!

Find time to be creative it’s good for the soul,

Nanc’

Die Cut Crazy Blog Hop

DCC FebBlogHop

Welcome to the Die Cut Crazy Magazine Valentine Blog Hop.

The designers have made some wonderful Valentine projects to inspire your own crafting with your die cuts.

If you just joined our hop, be sure and go back to the Die Cut Crazy Magazine Blog

to learn how you can enter to win a prize

when following the hop from designer to designer.

My holiday project I am sharing today is….a Valentine card!

IMG_0015

BTW…My card is a little oversized and measures 4 3/4 x 5 1/2.

The first thing I did was cut out a 4 inch heart with my Cricut.

The next step was to make (6 ) 2 1/4 slits down the center of the hearts

with a Xacto knife approx. 3/4 inches apart.

IMG_0002

Then I cut out 4 strips of ivory card stock 5/8″ wide…length doesn’t matter.

Now, the fun part it’s time to weave.

IMG_0004

Here I just trimmed off to the size I wanted and put a tiny bit of glue on the

ends to keep them in place.

IMG_0007

Here is another view.

IMG_0014

The scalloped border was something from Creative Memories that I bet I have had for 8 years.

I added the Ivory victorian border that was cut with my Fiskars cutter.

The sentiment is from Gina K Designs along with the Spellbinders fancy tag.

Added a ribbon and some pop dots and I was done.

Thanks for stopping by the Die Cut Crazy Magazine Holiday Blog Hop.

I hope my project inspires you to create your own Valentine card and or project.

Please leave a comment to let me know you have stopped by.

Next up in the hop is Melissa. Go see the amazing project she has prepared for you to enjoy!

which just so happens to be a theme challenge that is….

TPE227

Here is a little info on my card!

The heart shape was cut out with my Creative Memories cutter.

The sentiment is something I picked up at Michaels or a local store.

The Dp is my new Valentines pack of Recollections paper. LOVE IT!

I stamped my tic tac toe letters and then shaded them in with colored pencil.

I also lightly shaded around the perimeter of my heart.

The heart embossing folder is from Stampin Up…LOVE IT TOO!

I distressed the edges of the papers, punched out a heart

and added the flowers, the gems and dotted ribbon!

Please come by Just Us Girls and join us this week!

Enjoy your weekend and find some time to be creative

and watch a little football!  Go Broncos!
