Merry Christmas to You!

dsc_0497

Merry Christmas Eve Eve, I wanted to take a minute in between wrapping and cooking to finish posting my last 3 favorite Christmas Cards of this year.  I again used one of my all time favorite Verve Stamp sets called Ornamental Christmas.  The bows are a die from Paper Smooches and the sparkly silver paper is from Stampin Up.  I watercolored the background on all of them along with the ornaments themselves and finished them off with a bit of the splatter technique.

The sentiment and the holly on the card below is also from Verve and

I also made some gold flecks with some Stickles.

I thought it might be fun to make a non-traditional Christmas card.

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and thanks for being such a big part of my life!

Any Winter Holiday

dsc_0490

Hello Friends,  The card I have for you today goes along with the Any Winter Holiday challenge over at Stamp, Ink and Paper. I just recently became aware of this challenge thanks to my friend Sandy who is one of the designers. It’s a great challenge with lots of talent…so you definitely need to check it out!  I spent nearly as long as I did making this card, looking for the card on my Pinterest board that inspired me.  NO LUCK! So I will let you know right now, that this was not an original idea from little old me.  I am in love with how it turned out though!  This stamp set (Ornamental Christmas) is a retired set from Verve, but I absolutely positively love it!  (as you will see in future posts!) It may not look like it, but most of the card is watercolored with a tad of colored pencil here and there to darken it. I did take a sponge to the main panel with distress ink to give it a vintage vibe.

As I am writing this post; I am waiting on my son to arrive back home for Christmas (today), my tree is still lit in broad day light, the house smells of homemade muffins and caramel squares, and my house is covered with homemade Christmas cards from all the people in my life that I hold dear.  I love sitting on the couch in the evenings and looking at them, each one is carefully displayed. Today….my heart is full!  Hope yours is too!  Nanc’

Perfect You

screen-shot-2016-11-12-at-1-44-57-pmHello Friends,  It feels like forever since I last posted.  It’s only been a week, but what a week it was!  I can’t believe school isn’t out till the 22nd this year. Grrrrr. I pray that I can make it till then.  I am so not ready for Christmas, but are we ever really ready? What gets done gets done, thats my motto!  At least it makes me feel better… temporarily. LOL Okay, onto today’s card.  It’s Color Week over at Just Us Girls and I hope Lisa will forgive me as I didn’t quite follow the orchid color, but I am still in the same color family. I got some new MFT goodies in the mail this week ( Merry Christmas to me) and I was itching to open them up and have a go. However, the sentiment die is from Verve and the YOU is from SU.  The rest is MFT.  I added some sparkle to my flowers and they didn’t photograph well.  Sorry about that!

Hope to see you in the gallery at JUGS and Merry Christmas.  I hope to post before then….but you never know! Nanc’

Jars

dsc_0502

screen-shot-2016-10-29-at-9-37-17-amHello Friends,  I am going to get right to it as it is way past my bedtime and boy oh boy was it a busy and long week.  Judy is our hostess this week at JUGS and she has picked Jars for our Trend this time around.  I have had this stamp set from Jelli Bean Soup for quite sometime and it’s only been inked up once, so I was quite tickled when I saw this challenge coming up and realized I would have the chance to use it again.

Please come on over to Just Us Girls and have a gander at what the talented team did this week, along with our guest Theresa.  Hope to see you there and have a great day! Nanc’

Trees!

dsc_0299

screen-shot-2016-10-01-at-7-57-51-pmHello Friends,  I am hosting this week at Just Us Girls and it’s Word Week and the word I have for you is super easy!  The word is trees! I had so much fun making this card I decided to make two!

dsc_0301-2

Here are a few details! The tree you probably recognize as I have used it in years past…it’s a die from my school.  I took silver textured paste and a SU stencil and made my stars stand out 3 dimensional on the trees. Then the trees sat on my work station in my studio for weeks before I knew what I wanted to do with them. Finally, I had an epiphany and finished them off.  The die cut bow is from Lawn Fawn, the Tag dies are from who knows where…probably Nestabilites, and the Sentiment is from Verve. I used a heart punch for the base of the trees.

I would also like to Welcome our next Guest Designer Theresa Gregory to the team, as she will be with us this month!

I am finished with all my Christmas cards….Yipeee!!!! However if I find sometime, I plan on making a few more just in case.  If you are stamping over the next week, please… oh please join us at JUGS!  I would love if you did!  Take care, Nanc’
