Float

Hello, It’s Saturday once again and time for Word Week at Just Us Girls. The word we have for you that was selected by Sue is Float. Such a fun idea for this time a year for this Florida girl.

I am joining in the fun over at Tic Tac Toe Challenge. My card fits perfectly with the row Child/ Shimmer, shine or Glitter/ embossing. I have the girl, her bathing suit is sparkly, and I used and EF.

Card Details: I started off making my alcohol inked background to replicate water. I couldn’t get my silver to move around very well and looks a bit clumpy, but it was fun to get messy anyway. I colored my MFT PTI Hey Sunshine stamps with Copics and Prisma colored pencils. I decided to leave the sentiment panel blank for now. The dotted EF is from SU, I do believe. I used a stitched edge border die from MFT as well. I paper pieced her bathing suit with some silver glitter paper. I think that about does it.

I hope you will head on over to Just Us Girls and check out what the rest of the team did with our word FLOAT. We also have a brand new guest with us this month! WELCOME Jacinda!

If you decide to play along, and then happen to WIN Chic of the Week, you might just end up becoming our next guest designer.

Take care, Nanc’

Furry Friends

Hello, I hope your week has been going well. Today’s post is titled Furry Friends and it’s the next topping we have starting over at Seize the Birthday. Design Team member Cathy has selected this topping for us. I only have a little over a handful of animal stamps in my collection and my first thought was to use one of my favorite MFT cat sets, so that is what I did.

It just so happens that Time Out Challenges and TGIF Challenges both have Pets as their challenges this time around too, so I will be joining in the fun over there as well.

Card Details: For my background I used some Oxide inks. The stamps were colored with a mix of Prismas and Copics. The greeting is from Avery Elle. The large dotted background die is from Sunny Studios. In hindsight, I wish I would have masked it off and not gotten ink on the edges. The stitched circle die is from SU. The circle die was cut out and then double matted to give it a bit of depth. The cat is also double matted and popped up with dimensionals. I double mat all the time…do you? I think it makes the card so much sturdier and improves the quality.

Here is a better pic.

I hope you will pop on over to Seize the Birthday and see what my fabulous Design Team have done and you will consider playing along with us. Remember the topping is optional as any type of Birthday card will do.

Take care and happy creating, Nanc’

Sketch Challenge at TPP

Hello there! I am back again today with the next great challenge over at The Paper Players. I enjoy Sketch week nearly as much as Color Week, because when designing your card the layout is done for you, and it makes things move along a bit faster… in my opinion that is. How do you feel about Sketch challenges? Do you like them? If I had more time on my hands I would start another card challenge site and the theme would be sketches. Hmmmm…maybe? 😉 Just kidding….I think. LOL

Card Details: I had such a great job playing along with my new MFT Lily dies. Of course, I had to get out that great DSP from SU that I just adore and work it in my design. The sentiment is from Stampendous. I used a bit of greenery from Stampin Up too. It is from the Forever Fern die set. I made the victorian scalloped edging with my Fiskars cutter. I use to use it ALL the time and it was kinda my signature piece on my cards and I kinda got away from it. Of course, more Honey Bee Dew Drops.

I will also be linking my card up over at Addicted to Stamps and More for their Birthday Challenge.

I have quite a few cards coming in future posts using these Lilies. Stay tuned.

Life Is Better-JUGS

Hello, I am here today with a very pretty Photo Inspired card for the latest Just Us Girls challenge. Bobby sure knows how to pick’em. There is so much to this photo that you can pull from and be inspired by.

Here is a closeup view of my card.

Card Details: This card came together better than I had it planned out in my head. I have this great pack of DSP from SU that I knew I wanted to incorporate in my design. First, I cut out two tags using a MFT die. Next, I got out my relatively new to me garden themed die set from Sizzix called Garden Shed, to pull in some of the elements from the photo The sentiment and dew drops are from Honey Bee Stamps. The silver twine finished it off nicely and I went to Hobby Lobby the other evening to pick some up just for this card. I may have gotten one or two other things while I was there. LOL

I am also linking up over at Happy Little Stampers for their Anything Goes with Dies, as my card is nearly all die-cuts.

I hope you will pop on over to Just Us Girls and check out my fabulous teammates cards…and play along. Before I go I need to say thanks to Claire for being such a wonderful guest! We really have enjoyed having you with us this month. Thanks for joining us.

Take care and happy creating, Nanc’

Card Concept-Thanks

Hello, I have been thinking about this gorgeous photo I saw over at the Card Concept- Loads of Lavender for the past week and I snuck away some time today to make a card. I have this fun SU set called Country Home that comes with a milk jug type stamp that I knew would work perfectly for this challenge. The set also comes with a pitcher but I like the can so much better.

Card Details: To start off, I decided I would make my own background paper and incorporate some of the black check from the ribbon. I used the SU Buffalo Check to get started. When I was done I decided it was a little overpowering and my black lines were too heavy, so I covered half of it using a fun edge border from MFT and the same lilac paper that I started with. Next, I stamped and colored my milk jug using Prisma colored pencil and fussy cut it out. I decided to not use the flowers that come in the set, but to get out the SU set Forever Fern along with it’s dies and use that as my foliage for the can. I finished it off with some faint clear Nuvo drops on the white panel. If I was to classify my card for this challenge I would say…CLEAN AND LAYERED.

I tried using green in my design but It just wasn’t working for me, and that is why I ended up with two shades of kraft.

I am going to link my card up over at Happy Little Stampers as well for Anything Goes with Dies.

As always, I appreciate you coming by.

Take care and happy stamping, Nanc’

CAS -Hello

Hello, I had a chance this morning while it was raining to make a card for the current CASOLOGY Challenge where the word is Hello. I just love rainy days, as we don’t get them all too often here in Florida. Of course, the weathermen predicted it would be an all day event and by noon it was over, hubby’s second Covid vaccine was even postponed due to inclement weather. The same thing happened yesterday, and it was all over by lunchtime. Oh well, some rain is better than none.

Card Details: I have had this drooping daisy die-cut since I started making cards eons ago, so if I had to guess it’s from Memory Box but I would just be guessing. I doubled the petal part as I don’t like it singular. I took oxide ink to both the card base, the middle of the daisy, and the stem. The stencil is brand new and from Altenew and the Script Hello is new as well and from Simon Says Stamps. I used a few dew drops from Honey Bee Stamps to finish it off. So I will be linking by card up over at NBUS with two new supplies. Here is the card that inspired me to make this one.

Thanks for dropping in to check on me, and I am grateful for your visits. Happy crafting! Nanc’

CAS- Birthdays

Hello, Today it is time for the next challenge at The Paper Players it just so happens to be our CAS week. I love all the challenges at TPP but the CAS challenge weeks push me to tackle something I am not very good at. Laurie has chosen CAS Birthdays for us this time around. If you choose to play along with us it shouldn’t be too hard for you! I so enjoyed putting my card together.

Card Details: I got out my old neglected Verve stamps; Cupcakes and Small packages for my card. The tag is from MFT-one of their old blueprint sets I do believe. I used gold thread for my ribbon and colored my cupcakes with Prisma Colored Pencils. The DSP is from Stampin Up. The Honey Dew drops always make the card better…IMO.

You are simply…

Hello, Hope you are doing well! The fabulous Lisa has picked out the prettiest color combo for us this week at Just Us Girls. I just loved it the moment I saw it.

Card Details: I have mentioned before that I have this great DSP from SU that I only use sparingly as I love it so much, but I thought this color combo warranted getting out a small piece of it. The paper itself has a pattern to it already and all you have to do it apply your ink and you end up with an emboss resist with little work. I have no idea why they don’t carry this stuff on a regular bases… or any company for that matter. Everything I have used on this card is from SU.

I am also linking my card up over at Happy Little Stampers Anything goes with Dies challenge.

I hope you will pop on over to Just Us Girls and play along with us! There are some fabulous cards by the DY and our guest to check out.

Take care and happy creating, Nanc’

Yellow and Grey

Hello, It’s the middle of the month and time for the next hues of color to begin over at Color Hues. I have been looking forward to this color combo for quite sometime. Design Team member Karen made this selection and it’s one of my all time favorites! Did you know that it’s the Pantone Colors of 2021? I didn’t, but I love learning new things! Thanks Karen!

Here is another view of my card.

Card Details: I so enjoyed putting this card together. The new die cut set is from Sizzix and called Spring Foliage. The heart border die is an oldie but favorite of mine from Verve. The greeting is from Stampin Up. The stitched heart is from MFT.

I am going to be linking up my card over at NBUS as this Sizzix set is brand new to me.

Please come join us over at Color Hues where the Design Team has once again blown me away with their cards! The talented Amy Kolling is joining us too! Welcome Amy! We are thrilled to have you along with us!

I hope you have a very enjoyable day! Nanc’

Spring Flowers at STB

Hello, I hope you are having a good week! SUPER busy one for me. It is one of those weeks where you have something to do ever single day. It is funny how that happens and how the rest of the calendar is bare. Today over at Seize the Birthday our topping is Spring Flowers. It was selected by the queen of florals herself-Tae Eun.

Card Details: Luck for me I have a dear friend that I borrowed this set from and I knew it was going to come in handy for this challenge. It is from Pretty Pink Posh and called Crocus Flowers. First, I heat embossed both the stems and the flowers in white and then came back and did a very quick watercoloring. A watercolorist I am NOT! I did a little Oxide ink and splatters on my background and the greeting is done on the computer as I am really tired of my birthday stamps and I wanted the perfect tone of lilac. A few Honey Bee Dew drops and I was done.

I am also going to link my card up over at The Flower Challenge where they are looking for Pastel Flowers.

Hope you will pop on over to STB and check out the amazing cards from the Design Team and are guest Lynda and play along! Remember the topping is optional, any type of Birthday card will do.

Happy crafting, Nanc’
