Freshly Made Sketches…

This card was inspired by a sketch challenge that I found at a new web-site called Freshly Made Sketches!! At least if they aren’t new, they are new to me. Anyhoo, I have been missing my son somethin fierce lately, and he was going through a rough spot at college, so I decided I would make him a card to try and raise his spirits!  He said it came at the most perfect time!  Love that, and love him!  I’m the luckiest mom in the world!  Later, I am going to post the poem he wrote to his father and I !!  Talk about touching!

Back to the real reason you stopped by….got side tracked! 🙂

I hope it’s okay that I rotated the sketch and my embellishment is a little higher than the sketch! 🙂

Thanks for dropping by and BTW…..

Go check out Freshly Made Sketches…you’ll be glad you did!

Here is the phrase I put in the inside of his card…It’s from a song by Rascal Flats

Casual Friday’s Challenge

The challenge that I took part in over at Casual Fridays was to Create a Clean and Simple project using at least 3 shades of a monochromatic color (your choice) PLUS Brown.  I decided to give shades of Blue a try, which is one color I find I do not use very often.  The more I thought about this the more I realized how strange this was, because when I was younger, Blue was my favorite color.  LOL
I so enjoy when you stop by and leave a comment…. thanks so much,

Challenge at Stamp TV

Over at Stamp TV the challenge this week was to Case the Design Team member Deb Felts.

I kept the layout almost the same just flipped it left to right, replaced the twine with ribbon.

I also got to ink up my new Verve stamps You and I…love this set!

Here is Deb’s card that I cased!  I love the layout and the DP she used!

Thanks for stopping by,

Fun New Challenge…

I have been on the look out for a new Clean and Simple Challenge blog that I can partcipate in and I think I came across a winner.  It’s called Casual Friday’s (love that name) and they specialize in Clean and Simple cards…which fits me to a tee…because none of my cards are all that challenging. LOL  The only requirements for this challenge was to make a 4×4 card…that left the door wide open. Plus I got a chance to ink up my new Verve stamps!!!

Hope you like my card!

                                                                                                                          So glad you stopped in,

Just because…

It’s been awhile since my last post, but lucky for me I have a stash of cards that I haven’t had a chance to share yet. Dave and I just got back from Tallahassee.  We were visiting our son Tyler, and I got to go to my first College Football game.  We had a great time and FSU whooped up on that poor South Carolina team.  I must admit, I felt kinda bad for them.  It was a short visit and needless to say, when it was time to go, I cried most the way home.  I sure can’t get use to those goodbyes. I couldn’t be more proud of Tyler and all he is accomplishing, and figuring out on his own…he has had to make some real tough choices and decisions, but is still holding his head high and plugging along!   I love you Ty!

Hope you and I have time to do some stamping soon,  Take care!

Living the sweet life…

Love this stamp!  It is so versatile!  Hope whatever you are up to this Holiday Weekend, you feel as if you are enjoying the Sweet Life !  I am home alone for 4 days and I must say I am not enjoying it as much as I thought I would.  I pictured sleeping in till 10, and sleeping doesn’t seem to be on the agenda.  Oh well!  I have had a chance to catch up with some friends and today I am going to lunch with someone who is very dear to my heart!  I refer to her is my adopted mom and my son’s grandma!  She is sooooo special to us!  So glad God brought her into our lives!

Hope you find time to be creative sometime soon,

Please say a prayer for this family…My hubby is in Tennessee visiting his best friend from college, after the recent loss of their youngest child due to a brain aneurysm.  Kelly was a Senior in High School! I can’t even imagine what they are going through the only thing I can hope for is that Dave is doing okay and is bringing those wonderful people so much needed strength, laughter and distraction at such a difficult time!

I hope the Butler Family know how much we care and love them!

Hugs to all of you,

Last night I got a message on FB before bed to pray for another 18 year old young girl that we know, that is in ICU due to a possible stroke.

Please God I am praying for Brianne and her lovely family, watch over them as I know you can and let her please be okay!
