Wish You Were Here

Hello, I am sorry but I have one more card using this fun die set from Spellbinders and I think it’s the last…but no guarantees. I wanted to try to make one more card for Fusion’s Challenge before it ended as I just loved the beached tiered tray they have for inspiration. I tried to pull in the earth tones and the soft aqua from the photo. I have one of these trays in my Kitchen, which is so fun to decorate. Right now mine is Ice Cream themed, one of my other guilty pleasures.

Card Details with some Affiliate Links:

Spellbinders-Small Die of the Month-Day at the Beach

Platinum 6

Pink and Main- Stitched Waves Border Dies

Sentiment- MFT-Life’s a Beach

I used a stencil called Perfect Plaid from Miss Ink Stamps to make my beach bag.

I used a small hole punch for my dots of color.

I hope you are doing well and have had a great day! Nanc’

Case a Designer

Hello, Today over at Just Us Girls Ina has a terrific idea for us for Wild Card Week. What she wants us to do is CASE a Designer. I just loved this idea and could have picked any one of my teammates or anyone out in blog-land for that matter to CASE, as there are so many fabulous cardmakers out there. But, a few weeks ago I was at fellow DT member Carol Mc’s house and we were crafting together and I knew I wanted to play with one of her stamp sets after I saw her make the card below! It worked out perfectly! This card was so much fun to put together.

HERE is a link to Carol’s card

Card Details: Greetery dies and stencil. Oxide Inks for the background.

Hope you will come on over to Just Us Girls and pick a designer to CASE and play along. Also, before I go, I want to thank Fran for being such a fabulous guest with us this past month. We have certainly enjoyed having you.

Take care, Nanc’

Life’s a Beach

Hello, I am back today with a card for the latest board over at Tic Tac Toe. My card goes with the center row of Die Cuts, Free and Bright Colors. I had the bright blue and yellow pieces left over from a card I posted a month or so ago sitting on my desk and I didn’t want them to go to waste. I made them using the smooshing technique on watercolored paper.

Card Details: The background was made with the smooshing technique and inks on watercolored paper. The palm, penguin, and sentiment are from MFT. I used foam tape to pop up the center of the card for some added interest. I colored with Copics. I also used white paint for a bit of splatter. The small postal die is from Hero Arts.

I hope however you choose to spend your day, it’s a good one! Nanc’

Christmas in July

Hello, I hope you are having a good day! I decided since it was so hot outside that I would cool it down in paper form and make a Christmas card. Plus when I stopped by Freshly Made Sketches and saw DT member Karren’s adorable card it got me in the Christmas mood. Next, I had to pick a color combo and went straight to the Color Throwdown for inspiration. Did you also know that Build Your Own Stash is also having a Christmas in July Party with many prizes too? You have a little time left to join them as well.

Card Details with some Affiliate Links: Postal die background is Hero Arts, Poinsettia is from Impression Obsession, the scribbled wreath die is from Stampin Up. The white sprigs are bits of a Christmas tree from the Spellbinders Truckin Through the Seasons. The gold embossed greeting is from Verve. I used a hole punch to add some dots of gold glitter paper.

Thanks for dropping in on me and I hope you do one thing today that brings you JOY! Nanc’

A Note to Say…

Hello, Today I am back with a quick card and this time I am playing along with TGIF Challenges. Anyone that knows me at all, knows I love Coffee, so when I saw this challenge I thought it could be interpreted in a couple of different ways. I could have shown you my favorite card-making stamps, dies, or techniques but that list is so long…LOL, or I could share with you my favorite drink that I certainly could never survive without. I chose the latter.

I am also linking up over at Happy Little Stampers– Anything Goes with Dies.

A Few Card Details: The Cozy Cup stamp and die set, spoon, and coaster die are all from The Greetery. The little green leaf is from Stampin Up. The bow is from Paper Smooches. The DSP is something I have had in my stash for eons and use it sparingly. The spoon is cut out of mirrored paper. The small flower and heart are just something I have sitting in a magnetic dish on my desk, to use at any moment, and not sure whose they are at this point.

I hope you are having a wonderful day and you found something to do today that brought you JOY! Nanc’

Beach Bum

Hello, I am back today with three more Beachy-themed cards because when I saw the photo over at Fusion I just had to play along. Of course, I still have the Day at the Beach dies from Spellbinders ready and open on my desk. I love mixing companies’ products and that is what I have done here. I pulled some of the colors from the pic along with the Beach Theme and sign into my design. My other two cards are below. The one at the top was my favorite of the group.

Card Details with some Affiliate Links:

Spellbinders-Small Die of the Month-Day at the Beach

Platinum 6

Pink and Main- Stitched Domed Dies and Stitched Waves Border Dies

Lawn Fawn- Stitched Hillside Borders

I am playing along with Darnell over at NBUS as it was the first time I used both the Waves Border Dies and the Stitched Domed Dies as well.

I hope however you chose to spend your day, something you will do, will bring you JOY!

Take care, Nanc’

Cozy Birthday and a Happy Accident

Hello, It’s Saturday and time for the next challenge over at Just Us Girls. It’s photo week and as soon as I saw this challenge coming up it gave me the perfect excuse to use one of my favorite MFT sets again. I wanted to make sure I incorporated the hanging plant in my design and I knew I had just the thing. I had a very happy accident on this card. Every time I use mirrored paper I inevitably get the residue of glue on the cardstock. So I decided to get out my paper piercer and try to remove it. I ended up scratching the pot and thought it looked so cool and ended up scratching them all. I LOVE it!!!!

I am linking up with Addicted to Stamps and More for their Any Occasion challenge as well.

Card Details: MFT- Couch Kit, Sentiment-Couch Potato, the hanging plant, and the plant shelf are both from the set Sizzix-Garden Shed. I am incredibly happy with how this came together.

The Just Us Girls team and guest Fran did a wonderful job with this challenge so I hope you come over and take a look at how they were inspired.

Take care and I hope you get to do something today that makes your heart happy, Nanc’

I hope you will come on over to Seize the Birthday and check out how my team was inspired by these colors, and then play along! Remember, our topping is always optional.

Smile

Hello, the entire time I was making this card today the lyrics of Smile kept playing over and over in my head. I am back with another card using the new Small Die of the MonthDay at the Beach from Spellbinders along with the surfboard die, which is also from Spellbinders and can be found in the set Large Die of the MonthTruckin Through the Seasons.

To jump-start my card today I went in search of a sketch and a color challenge. So I am playing along with Freshly Made Sketches and The Color Throwdown.

A Few Details: I had to shrink the beach towel down to get it to fit on my middle panel. I ripped some white paper so I could make the beach foam. The beach ball didn’t make it on the card as I just couldn’t make it look right.

Small Die of the Month

Truckin Through the Seasons

Smile though your heart is aching
Smile even though it’s breaking
When there are clouds in the sky, you’ll get by
If you smile through your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You’ll see the sun come shining through for you…If you just smile

You’re welcome…now you can sing all day too. 🙂

I hope however you chose to spend your day there were moments where you could just smile.

Take care, Nanc’

Hello Summer

I am back with another card using this new Spellbinders Small Die of the Month called- Day at the Beach and this time I am playing along with the gals over at Fusion. I still had all the scraps from yesterday’s card on my desk so I stuck with the same color scheme. I have been eyeing the Fusion Challenge for the past week and knew that if I got my Spellbinders set in the mail in time it would work out perfectly for this challenge.

I chose to play with just the photo and not the sketch for this card. I used two elements from the photo in my design, the first one is obviously the hat with the hello on it, but the second one is the long rectangles both on the door and at the top of the doorway in various widths.

Supplies Used: Some with Affiliate Links

Small Die of the Month

Platinum 6

Pink and Main-Sunshine Die

Oxide Inks: Abandoned Coral and Peacock Feathers

Card Details: Cut strips of paper in various widths to complete my background. I used Oxide inks to sponged my sentiment and flip flops. The tiny stars on top of the flip-flops were made with an old Verve border die. The sunshine die is sponged and double mounted for some depth. I used a few gold sequins to finish it off.

I certainly am appreciative of your visits and I hope you have a wonderful day, Nanc’
