Screen Shot 2016-07-09 at 3.16.17 PMHello my friends,  I need to think of a new way to start my posts, as you all must be getting quite bored with the same old same old.  I know I sure am.  Anyhoozal…..My friend and fellow DT member over at Just Us Girls picked out this incredibly beautiful photo for us this week.  Let me just say, WOW what a challenge it was! Still love ya Judy anyways!  I must admit I pondered this one for quite sometime and while doing so kept wishing that I only had a feather stamp amongst my stamp collection, and all my worries would have been over.  So I put my thinking cap back on and went with the butterflies and lots and lots of color.  In my opinion my card is a hot mess…and please don’t say it’s not…when it clearly is! LOL  I ended up stamping my butterflies in black and started coloring them with my Spectra Noir Pens.  Then I had this brilliant, I mean stupid idea to color the background in various colors like the picture. Finally, when I knew I could never recover, I just got out some of my sticker sentiments and flowers ( yes I said stickers) that I have had for ages and finished it off.  Phew…so glad this one is behind me!  KISSES JUDY!!!

Please come on over to Just Us Girls and see where the REAL talent is!  Nanc’

You Make Life Colorful…

DSC_0129

STB ToppingsHello Friends,  I hope you are having a wonderful week!  It’s time for a new challenge over at Seize the Birthday!  The topping we have for you this time around is ” Tags.” You can make one tag, a set of tags, or put a tag on your card and or project.  Your choice!  Monika is still with us as our Surprise party guest and herself and the entire team did an amazing job with this challenge.  The card above is already in the hands of my “Birthday Sister” as we both so fondly refer to one another. She also just so happens to be a talented STB Design Team member.  Barbara Campbell and I share the same birthday.  Leo’s rule, what can I say….LOL  Okay, this card is a mix of paper piecing and colored pencils.  The background heart die and that sweet crazy dressed little girl is from MFT. The sentiment is a mix of this and that, which I so enjoy doing and do quite a lot.

Have a terrific day and if you find yourself in the mood to get crafty…why not make add a tag and join us at STB!  Nanc’

Screen Shot 2016-07-09 at 3.24.24 PMHello Friends,  Are the weeks flying by or what?  Here it is Saturday already and time for yet another challenge over at Just Us Girls.  It happens to be Color Week and Lisa is our hostess. My card that I have for you today is a CASE from a dear blogging friend of mine Hannelie Bester.  She is so very talented and so sweet too! It you are not familiar with her work you can find her blog HERE!  You won’t be disappointed. She has a unique CAS style that is only hers and I am in awe of her talent.  She sent me this card below not that long ago and I was so intrigued on how she used brads and wrapped the twine behind the card stock, that I decided to give it a go. Her card looks ten times better than mine, but I sure enjoyed the process.  The flower is something I have had for eons.  The sentiment is from Stampin Up and I used glossy accents in the middle of each flower too. The card looks better in person, trust me.

Now, if you come on over to Just Us Girls this week and check out the teams work along with our Guest Colleen, I can assure you will be inspired!

Take care,  Nanc’

Anything Goes at STB!

DSC_0106

STB Anything GoesHello Friends,  I am going to have to make this a super quick post today as it is my birthday today when I am writing this and hubby is taking me out to dinner.  I was short on time so I cased THIS fabulous card that I found on Pinterest!  I  started off by sponging the background, I then stamped the balloons on the card base in black.  Then I stamped them again so that I could watercolor them and pop them up for some dimension on the card base. I added some splatters of color, some stars, shadows on the balloons, the sentiment, and I was done.  I love the way it came together!  Sentiment and balloons are from Verve.

Before I go I would like to welcome the talented Monika Reeck to our team, she will be with us at Seize the Birthday for the next two months as our Surprise Party Guest!  Welcome Monika, I am so glad you are with us!  Have a great week everyone and if you have some time to be creative, I hope you will consider joining us over at STB for our Anything Goes Challenge!  Just remember it has to be a birthday project! The sets are called….Delightful and Delicious, Ornamental Christmas, and Celebrating You.

Water

DSC_0115

Screen Shot 2016-07-09 at 2.58.55 PMHello,  It’s Word Week over at Just Us Girls and the word Sharyn has for us is Water.  I made the above card for a very dear friend and fellow design team member Judy, as it was just her birthday a little over a week ago.  The other girls and I couldn’t believe she was 70.  Age is just a number right?  I hope she loved my card as much as I loved making it for her.  I have to give credit where credit is due. Here is the terrific card I cased.  You can’t tell in my photo but the bubbles, the seahorse, and the fish all are covered in glossy accents. I so wanted to write Birthday Fishes on my sentiments but after 5 attempts with tiny alphabet stamps, it just wasn’t meant to be.  The stamps are a collage of this and that, so if you have any questions just let me know! The seahorse is a die- cut that I sponged, the background is sponges as well and the waves are a MFT die. Oh, and the fish were colored with colored pencils.

Before I go, I would like to welcome Colleen Foelker our Guest Designer to the team!  I have been fortunate enough to meet Colleen in person and she is as sweet as she is talented! Welcome Colleen, we are thrilled to have you joining us this month!

Now, please come on over to Just Us Girls and check out what the rest of the team has been up to this week!  Take care,   Nanc’

A Jump on Christmas Cards

DSC_0140

Hello Friends,  I hope this Monday is finding you well!  Over the last couple weeks I have been making Christmas cards.  I challenged myself in January to make 4 Christmas cards a month from January till November, all I can remember from last year is it felt like I was climbing a mountain, having to need them all so quickly.  Well, January was a good start and I will leave it at that. LOL  I am happy to report that I am nearly back on track an only need a few more by months end.  The above card is one of the ones I actual made yesterday. I know this die set from SU( Hearth and home) is from last year’s release and all over Pinterest, but would you believe I have had it since then and not used it?  I adore the brick EF from SU as well.  It so much fun to ink up with a brayer. I have a piece of acetate on my window, but it doesn’t show up in the photo.  Instead of using the Stamp set (Snowy Scenes) that goes with this die, I decide to cut out a tree with card-stock using my Cameo and then spattered it with some white paint. Prior to that I sponged a nice sky background and cut out a rolling hill with a Lawn Fawn die.   The greeting is from the above SU set and the leaves were made with a MS punch.  The bow is an awesome die from Paper Smooches.

ModSquadLogo202I am linking this card up to two challenges:  Mod Squad where it’s Christmas in July and Merry Monday where they are currently on break but have left the linky open so we can play with some of the past challenges we have missed.  I am using challenge #202 Let is Snow.

Have a great day! Nanc’
