JOY!

dsc_0133

screen-shot-2016-09-16-at-4-12-30-pmHello Friends,  Happy Weekend!  Oh this week was dreadfully long, glad it’s come to an end. It’s WILD Card Week at Just Us Girls and what Maria has asked us to do is to make the sentiment the focal part of your card.  I got this fabulous idea while pursuing Pinterest sometime ago, and you will find that card HERE!  This card came together rather quickly and that is always a plus too, when you are pushed for time.  The only actual stamping that is on this card is the musical notes (Michaels) and the holly leaves are from Verve.  Those were colored with colored pencil and then I punched out some little berries from red sparkly SU paper. The letters were cut out with a Sizzix die and ran through a Lattice EF. Lots of pop dots were added for dimension.

Before I go I need to say farewell and Thanks to our fabulous Guest Jaydee.  It’s been an absolute joy having you with us this entire month, and we look forward to having you back in the gallery again really soon!

Take care everyone and happy stamping,  Nanc’

Not a Halloween Cat!

dsc_0275

screen-shot-2016-09-01-at-3-36-03-pmHello Friends, it’s Saturday and time for another Just Us Girls challenge!  It’s photo week and I kinda took my own liberties with this one, and went a different route than my teammates. I saw this card HERE on Pinterest and wanted to make my own on my Silhouette Cameo. I have a friend at work who adores cats and I am going to give it to her for her Birthday.  I thought the DP had a vintage vibe, so I decided to embrace it and add some yellow flowers and some buttons too. The sentiment is one of my favorite’s from Verve.

Please come on over to Just Us Girls and join us!  You may even be selected as our Chic of the Week just like our guestie this month Jaydee!  Have a fabulous day! Nanc’

Lots of Leaves

dsc_0286

STB ToppingsHello Friends,  It’s Thursday and time for the next challenge over at Seize the Birthday! The topping this time around is “Lots of Leaves.”  Before I get to my card, we also have 3 fabulous new Design Team Members starting with us today over at Seize the Birthday, and I couldn’t be more happy to have them. Welcome Ashwini, Sandy, and TaeEun to the team! I am so happy to have you with us!  So after you leave here, head on over to STB and check out my welcome post, you can learn a little bit more about our new members and check out all the fabulous cards from the Design Team as well! My team really rocks! 🙂

Here are some card details:  The leave stamps are from Verve’s Harvest Blessings, aren’t they super fun?  The sentiment is something I picked up from who knows where, and the dotted label is from Gina K Designs. The Embossing folder is from Elizabeth Craft Design.

sip-any-tic-tac-toe-70-800-768x994I am linking my card up at a new to me Challenge site called Stamp Ink Paper, where they have a Tic Toe Challenge going on.  I chose the diagonal of Orange, Autumn and Patterned Paper.

Hope you have a terrific day and stop by STB to check out the work of the design team and play along! Nanc’

Fall Colors @ JUGS!

dsc_0285

screen-shot-2016-09-01-at-3-32-19-pmHello Friends,  It seems like forever since I have posted anything, but it’s only been a week! Judy is our hostess this week at Just Us Girls and she has picked out some terrific Fall colors for us to play around with. I am not a big Halloween kinda gal, but always like to send out at least a few cards to my immediate family.  I was thinking about this post this week, and realized I better get a move on since it’s already the middle of the month.  Once I made myself a candy corn template out of cardboard the card came together rather quickly. The sentiment is from Stampin Up. The papers are just random scraps of this and that, since I clearly don’t throw any paper away no matter how small. LOL The buttons I adore and they are dies from MFT. I know I stretched the colors a bit with my orange ribbon, but I just had to! Orange is in the same color family as rust, so I should be good! Hope you will stop on over sometime this week and check out the teams cards and join us!

challenge-215I am also linking my card up over at Addicted to Stamps and More where they have a Halloween inspired photo!  I thought my circles all over my card mimicked many moons, and I have a lot of black on my card as well, as does the photo. Take care, Nanc’

Pineapples!

dsc_0229

screen-shot-2016-08-31-at-9-18-58-pmHello my faithful friends, It’s Saturday and time for our next challenge over at Just Us Girls! Sue is our hostess and she has come up with a Trend that is very popular right now.  Pineapples…they are literally popping up everywhere.  Have you noticed?  I myself don’t own a single pineapple stamp so I had to get creative.  I took my Striped Scallop Thinlit die from Stampin Up turned it upside down and used it as a stencil to make my pineapple skin. (Seen below) Then I took my leaf stamp from Beautiful Day from Altenew and stamped quite a few leaves on white card stock and fussy cut them out to make my stem.  The little flower accent was made with a MS punch. The (very cool) sun background paper behind the sheet of SU vellum was made with the Let It Shine set from Verve, along with the sentiment.  I wish you could see how pretty that vellum paper is.  It’s from Stampin UP and is covered with flowers and leaves.   I guess you will have to trust me!

I think that about wraps it up!  If you have a pineapple stamp or any type of pineapple supply for that matter, that you are just itching to use, or you could totally do what I did and be creative with what you have… please come on over to JUGS and join us!  Take care, Nanc’

The Flower Challenge!

dsc_0277

Hello Friends,  I had a chance to play in my studio today since school was canceled due to Hurricane Matthew. We have had no problems on the West Coast of Florida and I am hoping for the same results on the East Coast, although I know a great deal of people are without power. I pray that is all they have to deal with! There is a new Challenge blog that has started called The Flower Challenge and I have been itching to play along! I don’t know about you, but I think it was a fantastic idea! We all have our fair share of flower stamps lying around…don’t we?   Way to go Aileen and all involved, I wish you HUGE success!  I got out the ever so popular Beautiful Day set by Altenew and went to work.  I stamped the flowers and leaves on my SU eggplant cardstock and then white heat embossed the outline of the same flowers after that.  I realized after the embossing powder dried that I had tons of white flecks all over the place….That ALWAYS happens to me! UGH!  So I thought, why not embrace the mistake and add more white flecks myself! I actually do this with diluted white paint.  I love how it turned out.  Then I got this brilliant idea to cut out multiple panels using my MFT rectangle dies, from greatest to smallest. I then decided to lift some of the panels and recede some of them.  I LOVE the effect!  I also like the wonky lay out!  I just noticed a couple of my leaves look a bit doubled in the photo, but I kinda like em that way! I used my Misti and the paper must have shifted a bit. The sentiment is from Verve!  Well, why not come on over to The Flower Challenge and play along…you have lots of time!  Thanks for your visit, they mean the world to me!  Nanc’

Happy, Happy Birthday!

dsc_0216

STB Anything GoesHello Friends,  It’s Thursday and time for a brand new challenge over at Seize the Birthday!  It’s  Anything Goes this time, so if you just so happen to be making some Birthday cards and or projects over the next couple of days, I sure hope you will consider joining us! The team and our new Surprise Party Guest Sherrie have done some outstanding work this time around. Welcome Sherrie!  We are so glad you with us for the next couple of months!  The STB challenge runs for nearly two weeks so you have plenty of time!  It’s been a while since I got out my candle die cuts from Elizabeth craft Designs and they always are so much fun to decorate with paper and make them all snazzy. The Happy Birthday sentiment ( from Gina K) is stamped all the way down the blue background paper, but I nearly ended up covering the entire thing with the rest of my layers. I stuck a thin piece of paper through my label die and added those small blue dots for added interest. The white piece of paper is a fun die from Paper Smooches that I haven’t played with nearly enough.

I hope you are having a wonderful day!  Take care,  Nanc’

Leaves

dsc_0239

screen-shot-2016-08-31-at-9-16-24-pmHello Friends,  Sharyn is our hostess this week over at Just Us Girls and she has picked out a perfect word for this time of year.  The word is LEAVES.  Sharyn and I have become very good friends over the past few years, and unfortunately life has gotten to busy for her, and this is going to be her last challenge as part of our Design Team.  I private messaged her a few days ago and asked if she realized her word she had chosen actually had two meanings this week?  She responded, that she had not realized that.  Funny how things work out sometimes isn’t it?  I must say the best thing about this great hobby of ours is the people that have come into our lives…and will stay forever.  I will miss working along side you my friend, but rest assure, you can’t escape me that easy… as I will continue to keep tabs on you! HUGS and best of luck to you!

Now onto my card.  I love the look of stamping two different colors on one stamp…especially these leaves.  I think these colors are awesome together, don’t you?  Then I took a light yellow Spectrum Noir pen and outlined each leaf. (seen below)  The idea for my card came from this gorgeous card by Ashwini that I have linked for you HERE! I added some black splatters and that great (fantastic) Verve Die, stamped the YOU that so happens to be Verve as well, and I was done.  It actually came together rather quickly.  I can assure you I will try this technique again.img_2138  I would also like to welcome our next Guest Designer Jaydee who will be with us this month!

ModSquadLogoI am linking my card up over at Mod Squad too…where they have a challenge of falling leaves! Love when things come together like that!

Hope to see you at JUGS! Nanc’
