Have a PHONEomenal Day

Hello, It is the First of the Month and time for the next Hues of Colors at Color Hues. Julie B has a pretty color combo for us that I really enjoyed. We also have a new guest joining us! Welcome Sue, happy to have you designing with us. One of my favorite parts of running a Card Challenge is to see the cards as they come in before we go live. It is so enjoyable to see the different directions everyone takes with their cards and how different they all are. I certainly have a talented bunch!

This darling set is owned by a friend. I cut everything out in white as I didn’t know when I would use it. So when I saw this color combo coming up I thought it would be perfect, all I had to do was add the color. I have everything that I used on this card listed below.

  • Vintage Phone-Sugar Pea Designs
  • Call Me Sentiment-Sugar Pea Designs
  • Notched Corner Frames-Spellbinders
  • Large Dot EF-Stampin Up
  • Hearts- MFT
  • Long Oval die is most likely Sizzix or a very old Spellbinders
  • Oxide Inks-Twisted Citron/Wilted Violet
  • Foam Squares
  • Glitter paper gems

Please stop by Color Hues and check out the cards by my talented team and then play along! We would love to have you! Nanc’

Every Flavor of Happy

Hello, I am happy to be back with another card using my favorite food group! 😝 In all seriousness, this set from Pixi Dust Designs called Ice Cream Sundae is just too much fun to put away, plus it just so happens to still be on sale. The sale ends tonight, so if you are interested I have it linked for you below.

A Few Card Details: The background is a stencil called Warped from Pink and Main. I used three colors of Oxide Inks- Kitsch Flamingo, Squeezed Lemonade, and Twisted Citron to do all my ink blending. The sentiment is from My Favorite Things in the Every Flavor of Happy set. The party streamers are from Spellbinders in the Birthday Wreath Add-On Set. I also sponged those in the same three colors. I inked the cone in Walnut Stain. The cherry has clear Nuvo drops on it to make it shine. A few sequins finished it off.

As you can see by this photo this card has lots of dimension.

My card was inspired by the pretty colors over at The Color Throwdown this week.

I am thrilled to have the opportunity to use Affiliate links for different companies and if you place an order after clicking on one of the links below, I will receive a small commission. I certainly would appreciate any of your support! Thank you!

You’re One in a Melon

Hello friends, The clocks keep spinning and it’s now April 1st and that is NO joke! So that means it’s time for the next Hues of Color at Color Hues. Cindy is our wonderful hostess and I just love the color pairing she chose for us. The colors are Peach and Green. A few months ago I purchased this watermelon set from Pretty Pink Posh and had yet to use it. I thought this might just be the perfect time.

What do you think of my Peach and Green Watermelons? I am going to pretend they are Cantaloupes. I just love fresh Cantaloupe, how about you? Yes, I know cantaloupes are not green on the outside, but mine are! 🤣 Hubby, calls it Mush Melon even though the correct spelling is Musk. LOL He said when he was a kid he didn’t love the texture and that is why he called it that.

A Few Card Details: I used the sentiment set that came with these stamps and then added my own Verve-Birthday greeting. I sponged the background with SSS inks and then colored the stamps using Copics and Prismas. The stitched squares are from Stampin Up.

Now you have to head to Color Hues and check out my fabulous Design Team cards and our guest, Donna Mikasa. So happy to have you with us, Donna!

Take care and happy creating, Nanc’

Congratulations at CH

Hello friends, It is the middle of the month, and also happens to be my hubby’s birthday today, and time for the next Hues of Color at Color Hues. Carol is our wonderful hostess and she has chosen a beautiful color pairing of Cream and Blue. I immediately decided that this combination would make a nice color pairing for a wedding card, so that is what I did.

Card Details: I knew I wanted to use texture paste on my background and of course as soon as I opened the jar I knew it was dried out. I think I had only used it twice before.☹️ Anyway, I thought why not add a little water to it and see if I can revive it! It worked! It wasn’t the perfect consistency but I managed to spread enough on this card.

Here is a list of products I used:

  • Stitched hearts-MFT
  • Texture Paste-
  • Spring Foliage-Sizzix
  • Spring Things (Bees)- Sizzix
  • Mini Everyday Sentiments (Foiled)-Spellbinders
  • Tiny Flowers-Rain Boot Bouquet-Spellbinders

I hope you will come over to Color Hues and check out my talented Design Team’s cards, along with our guest Steph, and join us. We would love to have you!

Take care and happy creating! Nanc’

Happy Birthday

Hello Friends, I have a bright and happy Birthday card today that is for the next Hues of Colors at Color Hues. Tracey is our wonderful hostess and she has chosen a color duo that is perfect for Spring. I need some birthday cards this month so that is the direction I decided to take. It was hard to refrain from pulling out florals for this color combo.

A Few Details: The dies are from Spellbinders-Birthday Wreath Add-Ons. I decided to spray my birthday hats with Sheer Shimmer Craft Spray- because what is a birthday without a bit of sparkle. In the photo below it looks like dirt specks but it is just the lighting. I had a great time putting this card together and it was the first card I made in my clean new space.

Thanks for coming by and I hope you will consider coming by Color Hues and joining us! We have the talented Tenia joining us today as well!

Happy Birthday to You

Hello friends, It is time for the next Topping at Seize the Birthday. JoAnn is our wonderful hostess and she has a color challenge for us and hopefully you too. It’s an easy one, she wants us to use red as the main color on our card and or project. Fellow DT member, Barbara inspired me with her card and I appreciate that as I was at a loss for what I wanted to do. Thanks, Barb!

I know Sunflowers are not generally red, but when it comes to paper and the creative process anything is possible, right?

Card Details: The stencil I used on this card is from Spellbinders and is called Layered Sunflower. I just adore it! As mentioned above…Sunflowers are not generally red but today’s is! I used a mix of various inks to achieve the colors I was going for. Oxide Inks-Black Soot and Iced Spruce, MFT-Red Hot, and Altenew-Ruby Red. The sentiment is from Ellen Hutson-Sending Love set. The Notched Corner Frames are also from Spellbinders. I cut out the sentiment and used four more layers of cardstock to make my sentiment pop above the card base. A few silver sequins and black gems and I was done.

Friend

Hello, It’s already the middle of the month and time for the next Hues of Colors at Color Hues. I seriously don’t know why life has to go so fast! Anybody with me? Today over at CH, Stef is our fabulous hostess and she has chosen a pretty color pairing. The Colors remind me of Spring and I know most of the country is ready for that. I certainly am but I need to be careful because mother nature might think I mean Summer. 🤣

Card Details:

  • Friend-Honey Bee Stamps
  • Border-Marth Stewart Punch and then I glued hearts in each opening.
  • Pierced Flowers-Stampin Up
  • Tiny hearts are from a Verve Border that I glued in the flower centers and on top of the smaller hearts.

It should have been a quick card but I fretted over it much longer than I should have. 😝

I am playing along over at The Flower Challenge as the challenge is to add a Heart. I think I have that covered.

I am also joining in over at Inspirational where the prompt is Hearts!

I hope you will come by the Color Hues Blog and check out the amazing cards by my Design Team and our Guest Bonnie and then join us!

Take care and I will be back very soon! Nanc’

Love You

Hello, It’s the 1st of February already, and it’s time for the next Hues of Color at Color Hues. Sheri is our hostess over at CH, and she has chosen the perfect pairing for this LOVE month. We also have a brand new look and new graphics thanks to a collaboration effort with my techy and wonderful son Ty. I was never overly happy with the graphics I made on my own three years ago when I started CH, and I thought it was time for a re-fresh. You will have to let us know what you think! We also have Bobby Hagen joining us as our guest over at CH so I want to say a quick welcome to her. Happy to have you with us my friend!

Card Details: The small Heart Stencil is from Honey Bee Stamps. The Cloud Heart in the center of the card is from Miss Ink Stamps. It shifted a bit when I was blending it so that is why I decided to come back and trace it with a Black marker so it wouldn’t show. I don’t like wasting anything I started. So after I added the black outline I decided I better add a black shadow on the die cuts too. The XOXO die is new to me and from Pretty Pink Posh. The Love You is from Spellbinders in the Thanks Enclosed Sentiments set. That set is huge with so many great sentiments. I used clear Nuvo Drops on my three tiny hearts too, those are from the Gnome Drive Hearts set from Spellbinders.

I am also playing along with The Card Concept where they have a Love-inspired photo for us and with my friends over at Just Us Girls where they also have a Color Challenge starting. That one was a happy accident.

If you place an order after clicking on one of the links below, I will receive a small commission, and also get to continue as an affiliate with Spellbinders at no cost to you. I certainly appreciate any of your support! Thank you so much!

Kraft and One Other Color

Hello, I hope you are having a good week. It’s the 4th Thursday of the month and time for the next Topping at Seize the Birthday. Colleen is our hostess and she has a color challenge for us. All you have to do is use Kraft and one other color of your choosing. I decided to use something a bit different and I chose the SU color Island Indigo. Now, if you were to Google Indigo, it is nowhere near the color of the ink pad I used on my card. Whatever you decide to call it, I think it’s pretty and paired nicely with Kraft and White. Remember, neutrals are welcome. The hardest part was getting a decent photo. It is far more prettier in real life.

I first foiled my background in gold. Before I let the stencils do the rest of the work. I am still so in love with this set from Spellbinders called Cosmos Backdrop and Stencil Bundle. I am just in awe of how pretty it is even without color. The decorative edge on the bottom was made with my Fiskars cutter. The sentiment is from the set-Thanks Enclosed Sentiments.

If you place an order after clicking on one of the links below, I will receive a small commission, and also get to continue as an affiliate with Spellbinders at no cost to you. I certainly would appreciate any of your support!Thank you!

It’s Pandamonium

Hello, I could not resist playing with this Dancin’ Birthday Panda from Spellbinders at least one more time. As mentioned before, I have the perfect Panda sentiments from Woodware Crafts and when I saw the phrase It’s pandamonium, I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I have linked the sentiment set that goes with this panda below for you.

This card was also designed around the next Hues of colors at Color Hues. The colors we have starting today are Copper and Green and were selected by Karen. I used Copper mirrored paper for the Panda’s glasses and Bows, and I know it looks like gold in the picture, but trust me it’s not. I tied in the hue of copper again with the background paper and small heart accents.

All the products I used are listed below.

This is a mini slimline card and measures 3 1/4 X 6 1/4. In hindsight, I think it looks a bit crowded and I wish I would have gone with a full-size slimline instead.

Hubby said I should have made the middle Panda do something silly too. There is always a critic in the bunch. LOL (Now don’t tell him I think he was right.)

I used my scrap paper in all shades of green to cut out my leaves. It feels good to put those scraps to use. Then I splattered them with white paint.
