I apologize for my photos, it was rainy and cloudy here yesterday and this is the best I could do.
Hello, Happy New Year to you! I hope you had a wonderful Holiday Season and are eager and excited to get back to crafting, or perhaps you never stopped. Since it’s January 1st you know it’s time for the next Hues of Colors over at Color Hues. I am the hostess for this challenge, and not only do we have a great color pairing to start the New Year, we also have 3 new Design Team Members joining our team. I have been keeping this secret for far too long and am tickled to finally be able to share the exciting news.
Please come by the blog and help welcome; Stef Perry, Jules Peddicord, and Marcia Hill to the team. I am pretty sure that these ladies need no introduction as they are active participants in our challenge and in blogland itself.
I took another photo this morning and it’s a tad better!
Now onto my Card Details: I just love this Parcel and Post Die set from Spellbinders and I couldn’t wait to use it again. The background looks like foil but is actually a piece of DSP that I found in my stash. The sentiment is foiled and is called the All Occasion Mailbox Greetings, also from Spellbinders. I used some gold mirrored paper to tie the card together. These dies are still on sale if your interested to adding them to your collection.

Personal News: I could write many pages about what life has been like the past 6 weeks, but let me just say….that my sweet father is finally at peace. For 31 days we all took turns sitting by his side, and each time you would leave you would say goodbye just in case it was your last. My dad waited till the day after Christmas to meet up with my mom once again. Rest in peace my strong and supportive father. You did so much for me, my immediate family, and my extended family over the years and it’s time for you to rest. For those of you that don’t know, I have been my father’s primary caretaker for the past 7 years, even when I was working full time, and right now, I can’t imagine my life without him.
Dad, I will miss you terribly. It was an honor having your funeral service in my backyard. I hope you felt it was beautiful and perfectly simple like you requested. Give mom a kiss for me.
Take care, Nanc’
