Bundle of Love

Hello, and I hope you are having a good day. Today I am playing along with my friends over at The Paper Players. You know I love Color Challenges and LeAnne had a combo that certainly spoke to me. I did alter one of the colors to suit my design a bit. Instead of green apple, I used more of a seafoam green and I hope it’s okay. The green was just too bold with the rest of the tones I was using.

Card Details: I have been wanting to get out this adorable older set from MFT and make some baby cards and today I finally had the chance. The sweet sentiment is an oldie from Verve.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a chance this week to be creative. Nanc’

Hello Friend

Hello, It’s Saturday and you know what that means! It’s time for the next challenge at Just Us Girls! It happens to be Color Week and Ina is our hostess. I love the trio of colors she has for us; Turquoise, Mustard, and Black. Great selection, Ina!

Card Details: Today’s card came together very quickly. First, I made a stencil using Spellbinder’s Deckled Edge rectangles. Then I blended my background in Mustard Seed and Peacock Feathers. The butterflies are from Birch Press Designs. The pre-made foiled greeting is from Pink Fresh Studio. A small gold heart and some black Nuvo drops to finish it off, (that I regret using now.)

Now, pop on over to Just Us Girls and check out the DT’s cards along with our new fabulous guest-Michele Ferguson! Welcome, Michele! So happy you are with us this month!

Happy crafting, Nanc’

Thinking of You

Hello, It’s March 1st…say what? I can’t even believe it! Where on earth has the time gone? It is also time for the next Hues of Color at Color Hues. Carol is our wonderful hostess and she chose Gold and Green for us and hopefully you too!

Card Details: This card has a mix of everything and unfortunately even shades of cardstock that weren’t quite as prominent until I took the photo. LOL I was going through my bits and bobs and came up with a lot of what is on this card. The stamped leaves and die-cuts are all from SU and retired and the embossed piece in the background is from Spellbinders and is called Flower Frenzy. The Stitched Oval is from SU and the pre-made foiled greeting is from Pink Fresh Studio. A few sequins to tie it together.

Now, if you head on over to Color Hues you will see such a fantastic variety of cards from the Design Team. We also have a guest joining us who is my dear friend and birthday sister- Barbara Campbell. Welcome, Barb! I am very happy to have you with us!

Take care and I hope you will consider playing along with us at CH! Happy crafting! Nanc’

Happy Birthday

Hello, It is Monday and I am back with a card I made with two challenges in mind. The first is the pretty Spring Colors over at Sunday Stamps. I fell in love with their graphic as soon as I saw it plus all the cards by the DT and in particular- Stef Perrys. I incorporated every color from the graphic on my card.

I decided to pair it with a Sketch, and that sent me right away over to Freshly Made Sketches. I took some creative liberties with this Sketch and hope that you can see my correlation with my garden pots and tools and the vertical stripes.

Card Details: This die set is called Garden Shed and is from Sizzix. The lattice in the background is from Whimsy Stamps and I cut it down and pieced it back together so the edges were the same. You can see a definite line at the bottom but that is okay. I used mirrored paper for my garden tools and plant basket/shelf. The greeting is from Your Next Stamp.

You will be seeing this set again that is for sure.

I hope you have a wonderful day and week ahead and find some time to be creative, Nanc’

Sending Love

Hello, We have the prettiest Color Pairing starting today at Color Hues. Tracey is our wonderful hostess and I am smitten with her color combo. The Design Team and our guest have some truly amazing cards over on the blog, you must check them out.

We are still in the middle of a new release over at Spellbinders, so when I saw this challenge coming up at Color Hues I knew this new die cut was going to work out wonderfully. The Collection is called Four Petal and this specific die that I have used above is called the Four Petal Bloom Reflection. It is so very pretty and easy to put together. I have used the same Thanks Enclosed Sentiments as well. I have all the links below if you want to check them out.

Card Details: with Affiliate Inks

You are Unforgettable

Hello, Can you even believe it’s February 1st already? I certainly can’t! So if it truly is and I am not dreaming, it’s time for our next Hues of Colors over at Color Hues. Let me warn you that the Design Team and our two guests- Karren and Janet did an incredible job with these colors! You must pop on over to the blog and check everyone’s work! It seems florals were very popular, but I kinda went in a totally different direction. Although, I am digging this cute little Alligator and he certainly looks harmless to me.

I will be playing along with Darnell over at NBUS as this set from Whimsy Stamps is new to me.

Card Details: The Gator and orange blossoms are from Whimsy Stamps and sadly were part of a Hurrican Ian Relief fundraiser for Florida and are no longer available. The sentiment is from MFT and is also retired. I used Copic and Prisma Colored Pencils. I did a bit of fussy cutting too. I have dimensionals under my blossoms.

I certainly would love for you to join us at Color Hues! Take care, Nanc’

I’m Glad Opposites Attract

Hello, I am back today with a card that was designed around two challenges. First, I chose the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches and then, the Color Challenge over at My Favorite Things. I thought the colors were so bright and happy together and I knew they would pair nicely with my idea. I had this stenciled heart laying on my desk for a few days that was left over from a previous card and was happy to put it to use. This card could be used for Valentine’s Day, Anniversary, and perhaps even Friendship. The dotted paper was a fun find in my stash.

Card Details: Heart Stencil is from Honey Bee Stamps. The dogs, sentiment, and little hearts are all from MFT-Begging to See You set. I used Copics and Prismas to Color with. The banner die is from Pink and Main.

I certainly appreciate you stopping by! I hope you have or had a wonderfully creative day! Nanc’

LOVE IS…

Ice Cream of course!

Hello, I have a fun playful card today for this week’s Color Challenge at The Paper Players. If you know me at all you know that Ice Cream is my other addiction besides coffee. As soon as I saw the colors that Claire chose, I knew I wanted to play along, I have used some fun older MFT products for my card and sadly the LOVE stencil is not available anymore but the ice cream set is and it’s on sale! I will link it up for you below. The set is amazing! I colored up more than one sweet treat but they didn’t make it onto the card. This simple card took far longer than it should have to make. My colors are a bit off and I am hopeful the TPP ladies won’t mind.

Card Details: MFT; Love is Love Stencil, MSTN Sweet Treat Stamp set, and the Bottled Cap Letters. The other stencil was gifted to me and is called Leafy Squares Slimline by Pink Fresh Studio. I used Copics to color my ice cream and Oxide Inks for my stenciling.

I hope however you are spending the day, you throw a treat in there somewhere…or two! Nanc’

Happy Birthday

Hello, It’s Saturday and time for the first challenge of the New Year with Just Us Girls. Lisa K is our hostess and we are excited to be back with you. We have a few changes over at Just Us Girls when it comes to our Challenges, so pop on over and check out what we have in store for you this year. Plus I decided that the graphics needed a bit of an overhaul too.

We also have a new guest this month! It just so happens to be my good friend and teammate from both STB and CH- Jules Peddicord. Welcome, Jules! So very happy you are with us!

Card Details: I needed a quick card as I just don’t have much mojo yet! So I pulled out an old piece of DSP from SU that resists inks. I wish they would bring it back, or any company for that matter. It is so easy and fun to use, all you have to do is pick out which ink you are going to use and rub it on and the pattern on the paper is left behind. The flower dies and petals are also very old and retired from SU. The birthday greeting is a mix of SU and MFT, I do believe. A couple of circles, a white rectangle scrap die on my desk to ground my flowers and greeting, and pearls in the center of the flowers, and I was done.

Take care and I hope you will join us at Just Us Girls! The team did a wonderful job with these colors! Nanc’

Happy New Year

I apologize for my photos, it was rainy and cloudy here yesterday and this is the best I could do.

Hello, Happy New Year to you! I hope you had a wonderful Holiday Season and are eager and excited to get back to crafting, or perhaps you never stopped. Since it’s January 1st you know it’s time for the next Hues of Colors over at Color Hues. I am the hostess for this challenge, and not only do we have a great color pairing to start the New Year, we also have 3 new Design Team Members joining our team. I have been keeping this secret for far too long and am tickled to finally be able to share the exciting news.

Please come by the blog and help welcome; Stef Perry, Jules Peddicord, and Marcia Hill to the team. I am pretty sure that these ladies need no introduction as they are active participants in our challenge and in blogland itself.

I took another photo this morning and it’s a tad better!

Now onto my Card Details: I just love this Parcel and Post Die set from Spellbinders and I couldn’t wait to use it again. The background looks like foil but is actually a piece of DSP that I found in my stash. The sentiment is foiled and is called the All Occasion Mailbox Greetings, also from Spellbinders. I used some gold mirrored paper to tie the card together. These dies are still on sale if your interested to adding them to your collection.

Personal News: I could write many pages about what life has been like the past 6 weeks, but let me just say….that my sweet father is finally at peace. For 31 days we all took turns sitting by his side, and each time you would leave you would say goodbye just in case it was your last. My dad waited till the day after Christmas to meet up with my mom once again. Rest in peace my strong and supportive father. You did so much for me, my immediate family, and my extended family over the years and it’s time for you to rest. For those of you that don’t know, I have been my father’s primary caretaker for the past 7 years, even when I was working full time, and right now, I can’t imagine my life without him.

Dad, I will miss you terribly. It was an honor having your funeral service in my backyard. I hope you felt it was beautiful and perfectly simple like you requested. Give mom a kiss for me.

Take care, Nanc’
