Hello friends, It is time for the next Topping at Seize the Birthday. JoAnn is our wonderful hostess and she has a color challenge for us and hopefully you too. It’s an easy one, she wants us to use red as the main color on our card and or project. Fellow DT member, Barbara inspired me with her card and I appreciate that as I was at a loss for what I wanted to do. Thanks, Barb!
I know Sunflowers are not generally red, but when it comes to paper and the creative process anything is possible, right?
Card Details: The stencil I used on this card is from Spellbinders and is called Layered Sunflower. I just adore it! As mentioned above…Sunflowers are not generally red but today’s is! I used a mix of various inks to achieve the colors I was going for. Oxide Inks-Black Soot and Iced Spruce, MFT-Red Hot, and Altenew-Ruby Red. The sentiment is from Ellen Hutson-Sending Love set. The Notched Corner Frames are also from Spellbinders. I cut out the sentiment and used four more layers of cardstock to make my sentiment pop above the card base. A few silver sequins and black gems and I was done.
If you place an order after clicking on one of the links below, I will receive a small commission, and also get to continue as an affiliate with Spellbinders at no cost to you. I certainly appreciate any of your support! Thank you so much

Take care and Happy crafting! Nanc’

This is absolutely gorgeous! I love the dies you used and the popped up panel is perfect. I have seen a variety of red sunflowers and I love theme – such a great idea to make red sunflowers for your card.

the red totally works for these flowers, they are really amazing and the soft color of the leaves does not distract from the brilliant red of the flower! Fabulous design too!
