Wildcard Week at JUGS!

JUGS

Screen Shot 2014-07-09 at 10.09.42 PM

Hi Friends,

It’s Wild Card week at Just Us Girls and Marisa is hosting this time.

She has challenged us to make any size or shaped card other then the traditional

A2 size that we all tend to gravitate to.  On a very sad note it is Marisa’s last time

hosting with us at JUGS and to say I am going to miss her is a HUGE understatement!!

She is such a sweetheart and so very talented too!  She promises that she won’t

be a stranger and  will play along with us from time to time

from the other side of the fence!  We would love that!

THANK YOU Marisa for being such a wonderful and inspirational

creator and friend!  Good luck with life as it sounds like your going to

be extra busy!  It has been a pleasure working alongside you!

Okay here are some details on my card!

I came up with this card rather quickly the other night

and it came together just as I had hoped.

The sentiment is from Verve – With Love Set.  I am sure you recognize the

BEAUTIFUL flower stamp which is the Stippled Blossom from Stampin Up.  I can’t wait

to stamp with it again!  It may just be the most beautiful flower stamp I own.

The possibilities are endless with this set!

The banners were all made with nestabilities.

That about does it!

Hope to see you over at JUGS and while your there

leave some love for Marisa and Kristie our guest Designer for the month!

She did a fabulous job!!

Black and White

DSC_0006

Hello Friends,

Over at Seize the Birthday this time around are toppings option is

to use Black and White on your Birthday card!

STB Toppings

 Let me tell you the

Design Team and I enjoyed this one a lot, but a few of the gals said

it was hard to refrain from adding some color there somewhere.  I would

have to agree, I kept thinking if I could just add a punch of red it would be great!

So now it’s your turn to head on over to Seize the Birthday and show us

your black and white, but remember that our toppings option is

optional, if you just want to share with us a Birthday card that

would be great too!

STB

If this card looks somewhat familiar I made one similar a few months ago

and loved it so much I thought I would try it again, but change it up a tad.

The vase and sentiment is from Gina K designs and the white

dots are the negatives left over from a very cool die cut border I got from Verve!

The vase is actual a clear stamp and thought it would be fun to give it some texture

with a stamp I got at a Garage Sale that is shaped like a cube and has

4 different textures on it.  It’s one of those stamps I could never part with…

you know what I mean?

Still working with my camera…and let me just say…if you think buying an

expensive camera will make your photos look amazing over night…think again!

Hope you have a Wonderful Day and I see you over at STB!

Blog Hop with a Difference

Blog Hop with a Difference

I was listed by Vicki Dutcher over at All I Do Is Stamp to continue on with the Blog Hop with a Difference.  I was thrilled when I received her message!  Thanks Vicki I feel the same way about you!  I don’t know how you keep up!  I have never seen anyone stamp as much as you do!  HUGS my friend!

Anyway, the object is to answer a few questions so fellow bloggers get to know a little bit about me and my creative side.

What project am I working on right now?
I just got done making a very simple card for our weekly challenge over at Just Us Girls.  Next up, is a black and white card for Seize the Birthday!

How Long does it take to create a project?
Too long according to my Dear Husband…LOL.  It takes me forever to be creative.  I would say on the average….2 hours at least to make a card, that I am somewhat happy with and willing to share!  We won’t talk about the other ones. LOL

How does my creative process work?
First,  I prefer to start with a clean studio, however that is not always the case.  Then,  I usually got out in blogland and find a challenge that catches my eye!  There are so many great ones out there right now, it’s sometimes hard to narrow it down.

How do I become inspired and stay inspired?
Again, I would have to say that other crafter and stampers I follow or accidentally come across are what keeps me inspired and or interested in this wonderful hobby.

What is my signature style?  I would have to say CAS with layers.  I try so very hard to change it up now and again…but I always end up back to CAS and layered.  So jealous of others that can do it all (Like Vicki for example)!
One random fact about me!
I am 6 feet tall and despite my height I never played any sports in High School.  (One of my many major regrets.)
So now, I am to pass these questions over to 3 stampers who inspire me:  But before I do that….PLEASE NOTE that I wish I could nominate all of you!!  So many of you keep me inspired on a daily basis and I consider a lot of you, though we have never met, my dear friends!  I decided as to not hurt anyone’s feelings, to pick the 3 designers that I have followed since day one of this journey I am on.

My first choice is Laurie Schmidlin  over at Just Give Me Stamps.  I can’t begin to elaborate on how talented this lady is!  You are just going to have to check her blog out for yourself.  Not only is she a phenomenal stamper/designer she is a sweetheart to boot.  She does all of this while raising a family of 5 beautiful children, and a farm in what I think is definitely God’s country!  You should see the photos!  I really am in awe of her creative talents and being a wonderful mom in general.  Laurie I think your tops and I check on you and your blog almost ever single day!  No, that is not stalking! LOL
For my 2nd choice is Cindy Lawrence over at the Creative Closet.  I am sure  you have seen her absolutely stunning creations in one challenge or another.  Like I said I have been keeping a close eye on her for at least 5 years now.  Not only is she a talented designer you should see her photography skills with her work!   She is the reason I just went out and bought myself a new Nikon DSLR camera.  She is such an enabler! LOL  I hope someday my photos can look just half as good as hers!  Cindy, I think your amazing!!  Thanks for inspiring me!
My 3rd choice is someone I am sure everyone knows and that is Julee Tilman from Poetic Artistry and owner of Verve Stamps and other challenge sites that go hand in hand with Verve!  I don’t even know where to start to tell you how I feel about Julee!  Verve stamps are the very first stamps I ever bought when I first got into stamping and I think the quality and versatility is hard to beat!  Also, anyone who can again raise a family (twin boys), and have a successful business, and still be so creative while doing so  is awe inspiring to me!  Julee thanks for opening my eyes to this great world of creativity and I wish you many, many more years of success!  I will be right there watching you from the side lines!  HUGS!

I will close by saying that I appreciate all of you, my followers and my friend!   Although I don’t always have the time to tell you, I appreciate your comments and your daily or weekly visits…I really, really do!!   That is what keeps me going day after day!

Thanks for inspiring me as well!

Find time to be creative…it’s good for the soul!   Nanc’

Photo Week!

JUGS

Hello Friends,

Today over at Just Us Girls Lisa has picked out this great photo for us

for our Photo Week Challenge # 255.

Screen Shot 2014-07-18 at 2.51.55 PM

I loved it right when I saw it because it has endless possibilities!

That’s what so cool about a photo challenge, everyone interprets it differently.

When you head on over to Just Us Girls and see what the design team did,

you will realize how vastly different some of our creations are!

I also got myself a NEW Camera last weekend so bare with me

as I figure out how to use it!  I love it, but at the moment it’s

intimidating me.  I haven’t figured out what settings and such

are for inside photos in my light box,

so for now I am back to the great outdoors!

This photo came out pretty well and the cool part

is I didn’t have to adjust the photo afterwards one bit! 🙂

My card is very simple as this was the first full week back at school

and I have been so beat in the evenings and not able to move

from the couch!  I sure hope this is just a temporary thing!

Alright, I think I have rambled long enough.

I will see you over at JUGS,

and remember if you win Chic of the week you will be in

the running as a possible Guest Designer for the month of October.

Take care and enjoy creating!

JUGS Color Week!

IMG_0018

 Happy Weekend,

Let me tell you I was never so glad to see this weekend.  What a busy week I have had

with the kids returning to school starting on Monday.

I walked about 16 miles at work over the past 4 days,

and I am one tired pup…did I mention sore too?

Anyways,  because of the busy week this card didn’t get made till just last night

however despite the last minute, it came together almost how I had pictured it!

The great colors were picked out by my teammate Sue V. over at Just Us Girls

and let me tell you I really like them!  Aren’t they fun?

Screen Shot 2014-07-09 at 9.57.32 PM

So head on over to JUGS and join us this week won’t you?

The stamps and or die cuts are from Verve!

Have a wonderful day and I hope to see you at JUGS!

Remember…..If your chosen as our Chic of the Week you will become

eligible to be one of our Guest Designers in the month of October!

Good luck!

I Appreciate the Love and a Card too!

Hi Friends,

Before I post my card I want to say THANK YOU for all the love

and patience you have shown me as of late.

You all were so kind when I posted some personal stuff here on my blog

and I really appreciate it!  HUGS to each one of you!  I love my blogosphere friends!!

Also, I am back to work and you know what that means…pure utter exhaustion!

Till this school year gets off the ground, it maybe rather quiet for a week or so!

Hang with me and don’t give up! PLEASEEEEEE!

Okay,  It’s time for an Anything Goes challenge over at Seize the Birthday

and here is what I have done this week!

My deepest apologies for the photos…I did something to the settings of my camera

and can’t figure out how to fix it! 😦

IMG_0004 IMG_0003

This is a type of tri-fold card and not to hard to do!   If you have any questions please let me know.

I started this card at my Stampin Up club and finished it when I got home so

that I could make a few changes!  So the idea was not mine, but my talented

SU Demonstrator.

The sentiment on the outside is from Verve and the one on the insides are

Stampin Up and something I picked up at Michaels.

My heart border on the front is a new Verve Die….Love it!

Now head on over to Seize the Birthday and join us…

hope to see you there!

Before I go WordPress has changed their formatting and I don’t like it one bit!

So I hope this looks good and posts on time as I can’t quite figure it out as of yet,

Or if you got an email last night that I posted something new my deepest apologies!

So frustrating!  GRRRRRRRR!!!

Congratulations Son!

Hello Friends,

A little over a Week ago my son Graduated from College and to say that I am proud

of him is a HUGE understatement!  Not only did he graduate in 3 years instead of the typical

4 he took an average of 45 credit hours a year while doing so.

He has such drive and determination!!  As I type this

he has already into week 8 of his Masters at Savannah College of Art and Design!

He says no rest for the weary!  Just keep on keeping on!  I don’t know where he came from?

The cool part is he has done all this while maintaining a job for the

last 2 years, working 40+ hours a week, and is doing his Masters on his dime not ours!

Am I lucky or what?

Here is a Graduation card I made for him to go along with the FSU class ring we got him!

I can’t take credit for the card Idea…all credit goes HERE!

Very happy with how it turned out.  The tie says it all, it’s my son all the way!

Go NOLES!

In conclusion!

I will always need my son no matter what age I am.

My son has made me laugh, made me cry, made me proud, seen me cry,

hugged me tight, seen me fail, cheered me up, and acccepted me for who I am.

My son is a promise that I will have a FOREVER Friend!

I LOVE you TY Leppek and couldn’t possibly be more proud to call you SON!

Thanks for letting me share what I have been up to lately,

Now where are those gosh darn tissues?

Who Doesn’t Love Ribbon?

IMG_0037

Screen Shot 2014-07-09 at 8.24.44 PM

 Hello Friends,

I am hosting this week over at Just Us Girls and it’s WORD week

and I have made it super, super simple…

the word I selected is Ribbon!

You can show us a little or a lot!

While your there give a shout out to our New Guest designer for the month of August!

Kristie Goulet!

Now some details on my card!

I have done this technique two other times and I really love it!

Take the negative of any diecut and adhere your ribbon to the

back of the die in any pattern you like!

It’s super simple and super Cool!

To give it some stability I then sandwich the ribbon between another

piece of card stock and adhere it to a card base.

The sentiment is from Verve in the Take Note set!

Any questions at all let me know!

Now head on over to JUGS and show us your Ribbon!

Take care,

Nanc’
