Hello!

Hello Friends, We have the PERFECT photo for you this week at Just Us Girls!  It spoke to me as I am smack dab in the middle of my Summer Vacation from school. This card didn’t end up as I planned it in my head but it will do.  Don’t you just love those little flip flops?  They are from Impression Obsession. The beach ball, sunglasses and bag are from MFT. The sentiment is something I picked up at Michaels and the Sun die is from Lawn Fawn.

I would also like to thank our Guest for being with us this month!  Estelle…I hope to see you back in the gallery from time to time we do enjoy your work!

Please join us this week at JUGS and show us what summer vacation means to you! Take care, Nanc’

CASE Myself!

Hello Friends,  I made a card just like this a while back for JUGS challenge (HERE) and loved it so much that I decided to make another one for Seize the Birthday…using a different color palette of course. I couldn’t stop at one, so be on the look out for another one soon! LOL  It’s Anything Goes this time over at Seize the Birthday, so I would be tickled if you would stop on over and join us!  The DT always does a great job and I assure you that you will be inspired!  I also need to say THANKS to Cathy for being such an awesome Surprise Party Guest the past two months!  Hope to see you in our gallery again soon Cathy!

Take care,  Nanc’

Life is Meant to Be Enjoyed…

Hello Friends,  I took sometime a few days ago and took a break from punching out boocoose wedding pieces and made this card for the challenge over at Simon Says Monday Challenge.  Their challenge theme was Take a Vacation. I got out the perfect stamp set from MFT-Fun in the Sun….. which most definitely screams vacation to me. I wanted to practice my Copic coloring but I chickened out as I am not very good at it, and went with my faithful Prisma Colored pencils.  I also played with my new Oxide Inks which I adore!  I have used them a lot lately and those projects are forth coming.  I can’t take credit for this adorable layout as I cased a card that you will find HERE!

I hope you are having a terrific day! Nanc’

Thanks Dad!

Hello Friends,  Here is a quick collage of the Father’s Day cards I made to sell.  I can’t take credit for this design as I found it on Pinterest! Kara Lynne came up with this awesome idea and you can find her card HERE! Hope you have a great day how ever you plan to spend it.  My dad is 86 and refuses to come over for dinner or for me to bring him dinner.  So I will be going by just the same to tell him how awesome he is with dessert in hand!

The script dies are from Verve and are really fabulous! The DAD was made with large Alphabet dies from Sizzix.

Take care, Nanc’

Congrats on your Retirement!

Hello Friends, Hope you are having a good week so far! It’s been quite wet here for the start of our Summer, and that is a good thing, as we sure did need the rain.  Today’s card is pretty much straight forward.  I started with this great Verve Butterfly stamp and some emboss resist. Then I found this great polka dotted paper to mount it on.  Not sure how I feel about the random tiny flowers now, but at the time I liked it! LOL

Please come by Just Us Girls and join us for Color Week! The team did a real fabulous job! Take care, Nanc’

Trend Week at JUGS!

Hello Friends,  Over at Just Us Girls Chris is our hostess and she asked us to use powdered Dyes on our card this week.  I am somewhat of a late bloomer when it comes to new trends and techniques in the card making world, so I do not own any powdered dyes- Magnet Nuance, Brushos or Color Bursts…. and to be honest I had to google what in the heck they were. LOL With that being said, instead of running to the store to purchase something for this challenge, I decided and hoped the team wouldn’t mind I searched around the studio to see what I could come up with to get that fun sunburst effect like I saw on some of the samples on the net.  I came across this bottle of Dylusions Ink Spray that of course I have had for EONS, and had to have for one reason or another. (You know you have some of those supplies too, that you aren’t sure why you purchased them!)   I decided it just might do the trick!  Hubby needed a thank you card for a co-worker at his school that helped in his Art class, and I wanted to make something special for her. I got out my favorite Paper Smooches Art set and some white embossing powder and a real paint brush and went to work. I heat embossed my paint tubes first on water color paper and then spritzed my paper with the ink spray. Then I took a paintbrush and flicked the ink to give it more a sunburst effect.  Added some black splatters and I was satisfied. The rest is pretty much straight forward.

Please come on over to JUGS and check out the rest of the teams work …it’s super colorful! Nanc’

One Layer Birthday Card

Hello Friends,  It’s time for our next challenge over at Seize the Birthday!  Our topping this time around is to make a one layer card.  One layer cards are a HUGE challenge for me…I don’t know about you! However, it’s good to push ourselves to try things we struggle with now and again.  So I forged ahead and muddled through.  The card IRL is a lot prettier than how it photographed.  I have been wanting to try white colored pencil on Kraft card stock and I must say I love the look of it.  I decided when I was finished, that the leaves needed a bit more contrast, (and a voice inside me said, “Don’t try it Leppek you’re going to ruin it?”) I didn’t listen…. and I pulled out a light green colored pencil followed by some cover up tan.  So pay NOOOOO attention to the prominently darker leaf on the far side of the card…LOL  The flower is from Verve and the the leaves are from MFT.  The sentiment is one I have become rather fond (redundant) of by Stampin Up. I added the black lines with a sharpie for the heck of it. NOT PICTURED; The Wink of Stella I added to the flowers. LOL Boy I’m in a snarky mood today!  This card is already in the hands of a good friend of mine…I hope she liked it! Please come by and join us at STB.  My design team KILLED IT! WOWZA!  Nanc’

Mojo Monday #500 and The Paper Players

Hello Friends,  When I saw that Mojo Monday was having their final sketch (500th BTW) I knew I had to play along.  I wouldn’t be stamping or blogging if it’s wasn’t for Juleee Tilman, Verve stamps, and her fabulous Mojo Monday sketches. That is where my journey began many, many years ago.  She is putting family first and I say …..Way to go Julee!  I think that is Awesome! Rest assure she is still keeping her personal blog Poetic Artistry going along with her fabulous stamp company Verve! Thank goodness!  I paired the fun MOJO sketch along with the theme challenge over at The Paper Players as I was in need of a very special Birthday card!

The stamps I used for this card are from Verve- Small Packages set. Not sure if you can tell in the photo but my cupcake and flag pennant both have wink of stella and fine glitter on them.

I hope you have a terrific day!  Thanks Julee for all your fabulous inspiration over the many years! HUGS Nanc’
