Surfing Santa Tag

Hello, it seems like forever since I posted anything and it’s only been a week. It’s Wild Card Week at Just Us Girls and Ina is our fabulous hostess. She has asked us to make Anything but a Card for this challenge. As you see above, I chose to make a Christmas tag. I am glad I chose the Christmas route as I have been anxious to finally break the seal on this new Surfing Santa by Sunny Studios. I think he is so cute! I took the easy route this week and used some fun DSP for my background, I thought it represented waves perfectly. I used Copics and Prismas as my medium. The tag die is from MFT. I have glitter on Santa’s hat and pom pom too.

I hope you will come over to Just Us Girls, and check out the fabulous projects by the Design Team. While you are there, think of something besides a card to make and join us.

Take care, Nanc’

Hello-Sketch Week

Hello, I hope you are doing well. It is time for Sketch Week at The Paper Players and Ann has come up with a really fun one this time around. I had this idea rolling around in my head for a few days and although I like it enough it didn’t turn out quite like I had planned. That happens some times. Also, I ended up doing the flowers first and the brick stencil work last and if you look really closely the blue must not have been dry enough as it smeared when I was doing the wall. I love blue and brown together…do you?

Over at Addicted to Stamps and More they have a challenge to use Stencils and or Die-cuts on your project. I have used both.

Card Details: Stamps are from SU- called Painted Harvest, the small brick stencil is from MFT , the greeting is from Papertrey Ink.

Nautical at JUGS!

Hello friends, Today I have three cards for you that go with a nautical inspiration photo at Just Us Girls, where I am the hostess. If you know me, you know I do love nautical inspired cards and when I saw this fun photo over on Pinterest I thought it would be perfect for this time of year. If you don’t want to go the nautical route there are plenty of other directions you could go. For instance; You could just use stripes on your creation, or perhaps you could make a water themed card using a whale, or maybe even a Love you card. I can’t wait to see how you will be inspired if you choose to join me.

Card Details: This style of card will probably look familiar as I have made one similar to these before. I borrowed this fun background stamp and sentiments from a friend and it’s from Avery Elle. Thanks Carol. I masked off the center to leave an oval. Then I cut out my anchor on my Cameo. Last, I added the twine and various greetings. The fun dew drops are from Honey Bee Stamps and I adore them.

I hope I will see you over at JUGS! Take care, Nanc’

Happy Birthday Dad

Hello, It is time for the next challenge at Seize the Birthday and Glenda is out hostess and she has chosen Travel as her topping. This topping has me wishing I had a trip planned in the near future, but sadly we do not. Maybe this fall, we shall see. Are you heading anywhere this year?

Card Details: I have a variety of companies for today’s cards. The Clouds, Wonky Rectangles, and the Letters are from MFT. The Water is from Stampin Up and the Boats are from Impression Obsession. The Sentiments are from Verve and MFT.

I am tossing these cards up over at the Happy Little Stampers for their Anything Goes with Dies.

Now, please head on over to STB and check out the many forms of Travel that my fabulous team and guest Melanie came up with! You are sure to be inspired.

I hope you are having a wonderful day however you choose to spend it. Nanc’

Vacation Vibes

Hello, I had some time over the weekend to get inky and as soon as I saw the challenge at TGIF Challenges, I knew I wanted to join in the fun. The challenge is Vacation Vibes. Who doesn’t wish, right about now, that they were on vacation lounging in a hammock by the ocean? ME!!! Some of you are probably thinking, Nancy you live 5 miles from a permanent vacation and it’s called the Gulf of Mexico. LOL You don’t need to dream, just do it! I know that is true, but I don’t get out there as much as I should, especially this time of the year as it is just too gosh darn hot. Although, evening beach walks do happen on a more regular basis. Last night at around 8 we did take a bike ride. It was great till we stopped by the inter-coastal to look at the water, it was short lived, as we quickly had to get back on our bikes before we were eaten alive by mosquitos and no-see-ums. The key to bike riding in the summer, is you just have to keep moving.

I am also going to play along over at Happy Little Stampers for their Anything Goes with Dies.

Card Details: I made the polaroid type window myself. The sun is from Lawn Fawn on a piece of DSP, the scene and greeting were sponged with Oxide inks and then the water ripples were made with a stamp by SU. The flip flops are from Impression Obsession and the smile die is from MFT.

Thanks for coming by and I hope you have a great day and find time to be creative too! Nanc’

Just BEEcause

Hello, It’s CAS week at The Paper Players and LeAnne has chosen a fun one for us! I bought this Bee die cut about 5 years ago for my son’s wedding, as the theme was Bees. I made 200 party favors with it and don’t think I have used it much since. I was excited to get it back out when I saw this challenge coming up. In order to make the sentiment, I took a Because stamp and cut it at the BE mark so I could repeat the E. The scalloped rectangles and edge dies are from MFT. The DSP I have had for an eternity and has a velvet touch. I like that I used the positive and negative of that great paper and got two cards out of it.

Here is my second card!

Coffee and Friends…

Hello, It’s Color Week at Just Us Girls and Angie has a great palette for us to work with. I have been wanting to get out my Coffee stamp and die set from the Greetery and I knew these colors would do the trick. I used brown and black as my neutrals and my teal is more on the green side of things so I apologize for that. I would have made a new card but life didn’t cooperate.

Card Details: Stamps and Dies are all from the Greetery, DSP-MFT.

Hope to see you in the gallery at JUGS and you should check out the cards from the team also, they all did a great job and stuck to the right color family! LOL Nanc’

Happy Birthday @ Color Hues

Hello, I hope this post finds you well and enjoying your day! It is the middle of the month and time for our next hues of color at Color Hues. The colors Cindy has chosen are Lime Green and Aqua. As you can see on my card, Aqua is one of those colors that can either be on the bluer or greener side of the color wheel, it just depends on your interpretation. When I hear Aqua, I think water so I chose the bluer side.

Card Details: MFT- Cover-plate, Stitched flowers-MFT, Wreath-Stampin Up, Leaves-Stampin Up, sentiment-Verve, silver glitter paper and a small punch, and a few rhinestones.

Over at CH, we have Rosemary joining us as our guest and I would like to take a minute and give her a quick welcome. Welcome!! Rosemary was our winner from our last challenge and we are happy to have her along.

Now, once again if you don’t pop on over to Color Hues and check out ALL the cards by the Design Team…you will be missing out! They are all truly fabulous!

Take care and hope to see you in the gallery! Nanc’

Sending HUGS

Hello there. Today over at The Paper Players it’s time for Color Week. Jaydee has chosen a fun color trio for us this time around. Since I was pushed for time this week, I made a card very similar to a design you may have seen before. But that is okay, right? Who better to CASE than yourself! I also feel that this entire heart background thing that I have been doing so much of lately just works for me, and is such a fun and easy for all different types of cards. To stick to the colors this week and I knew the blue and green would have to be saved for the water, I thought…why not an entirely yellow sky. I had a bit of a brain fart when I selected my card base, however it is still in the blue family though. I have been having a ton of those brain lapses lately and I know it’s just stress and lack of proper sleep, hopefully the team will be okay with it.

Card Details: I used MFT cloud stencil and a heart stencil to start my background. I then masked off the rest to create my water. The water ripples are made with a stamp. You do have to do a lot of thinking and masking and covering when doing these types of scenes. They are never perfect, but that is what makes them handmade. The water and all the birds are from the same SU set called High Tide. The greeting is from Catherine Pooler and the boat is from Impression Obsession.

Hello Sunshine

Hello, I am here today with the next challenge at Just Us Girls. Sue is our hostess and she wants us to use recycled items on our card and or project. Nearly every piece of my card is made from recycled cardboard…EXCEPT the watercolored paper that I inked up with some Oxide Ink to make the water. I do love the crisp whit card-front. I love some of the texture that cardboard adds to the design. The Palm fronds looks wonderful in real life.

Over at Simon Says Stamps Wednesday Challenge they have a challenge going on that is called Hello sunshine which is where my inspiration for my card began.

Card Details: MFT dies and Verve greeting. Some Oxide ink, water, and colored pencil was used as well. Pop dots for dimension.

Come check out all the creative ways the JUGS Design Team tackled this week’s challenge and then join us!

Take care, Nanc’
