Birds of a feather…

Hello Crafting friends,

I am hosting today over at Crafty Card gallery.

The challenge was to use an item you would find in or around your home

and it must be featured on your card.

It could be a stamp of a tree a cutout of a window or door, a key, etc….

 I chose a bird!

We are so very fortunate to have a pond directly across the street from our home

and have many a species of birds who grace us with their presence!

Not to leave out the hundreds of ducks that leave a little bit of themselves behind as well

as a reminder that they were there…. We will save them for another card….lol

Here is what I came up with!

IMG_0003

I thought it might be fun to add some texture to my bird by running him through a SU embossing folder.

Also, his wing is made from a butterfly punch cut in half.

I am also linking this card up to a couple of challenges:

Hang in There!

G’day friends!

Today’s card is for a challenge that I have admired from a far for quite sometime

and was determined to play along with again after I saw their beautiful “Muse Sample” this week.

I know I am not a complete newbie to the Case Study challenge, but I know it’s been a very long time

since I played along!  I don’t know about all of you…there are so many fantastic challenge sites

out there in the blogosphere.  I wish I didn’t have to work or sleep then maybe I could find the

time to play with all of them!! LOL

Okay, enough of the blah blah blah… 🙂

Here is my card followed by the beautiful sample that intrigued me to play along!

The link to Case Study is on the image!

What I like about these type of challenges…is that they are not so

restrictive….you may pull whatever you like from the inspiration to

get your mojo flowing!  It’s probably obvious I picked the placement of the

flower followed by the leaves for my interpretation.

Not sure you can tell,

but I put some of my leaves in the foreground and or background as well.

I also am linking this card up at another Challenge site

that I have neglected for quite some time now called!

Crazy 4 Challenges

C4C-blog-button4

They always have the best participants over there with

some MEGA talent!  As I said before…I am always checking out their

site…but haven’t linked anything up in quite some time!

They have asked us to use NO Designer paper on our project.

Thanks for stoppin’ in today!

Nancy

Happy Memorial Day to you!

I am so glad I had the opportunity to play along with

Seize the Birthday sketch this week.  I have been a fan

of their site for a while now and don’t get to play along as

often as I would like.  Sure glad I had some time yesterday to get creative!

Here is the awesome sketch!

Click the sketch for the links!

Stars again….I know!!!

Bahahhahahha…..I can’t stop using them!

I hope it’s okay for the sketch that my vertical panel is embellished quite a bit!

Just so you know…I am not a gator fan,

I realize that it may appear that way with my color choices! LOL

Completely a Noles lady here!

Have an awesome day!

Make sure you stop by both sites and check them out!

Hope you are having a wonderful long weekend!  I sure am!

Went to the beach today with the FAM and then we had a cook out!  It was really nice!

Today’s card is for this week’s CAS(E) sketch.

It was a little different and intrigued me once again.

Those designers have been doing that a lot lately! LOL

I have been in a stars mood lately….it might have to do with Memorial Day…who knows!

This card is going to be for a Graduation party I will be attending next weekend.

I have had that silver designer paper forever, the rest was made with my cricut,

and then I embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder!

Retro #64

Today’s card is for a Fabulous Sketch over at Retro Sketches #64.

As soon as I saw it, I was hoping I would have some time to play along.

I have made two additional cards this week and didn’t get either of them linked up on time…UGH!

Hate when that happens, but in the grand scheme of life is that really what matters?

I get upset with myself when I get upset about something so petty when there is tragedy surrounding us each and everyday!

Watching the news just breaks my heart!! Those children and teachers must have been so frightened!

 God Bless all of them!

So, today I will be thankful for the little things and the things that don’t get done….really don’t matter after all.

CAS(E) this Sketch #28

I have a very CAS card for you today that is going to be

linked up over at CAS(E) this Sketch.  My hubby asked me

for a masculine Thank You card this morning and

due to the lack of anything masculine in my stash whatsoever,

I had to hurry up and make this one!  So before I got started, I let my

fingers do some sketch surfing and I came up with a perfect one!

cts28

And here is what I did with it!

Cardstock: SU

Stamps: Close To My Heart and SU

Tools: Label Punch

Acc: pop dots

Well, this may have been the most CAS card I have ever made!

I am relatively happy with the outcome!

Hope to be a little more active this week on the blog…wish me luck!

Thanks for dropping by,

Nancy

JUGS Color challenge

Hi Friends…Happy weekend!  Yahoo!!!!

Today my good card lovin friend and fellow DT member VICKI over at JUGS

has a wonderful color challenge for us to try!

JUGS189

Love this color combo!!  And here is what I came up with!

IMG_0003

(The coral IRL is not quite that dark orange)

It’s that time of year when I am in the need Graduation Cards

and even though this card doesn’t scream graduation that is what it’s going to be used for!

I used some Washi Tape to make my arrow and that sentiment stamp I have had forever and I

believe it is from Michaels.   Also,  I Love my new Chevron folder from Stampin Up and

I can imagine it’s going to be getting a lot more use!  Finished it off with some twine, buttons and stars.

Now, the rest of the  JUGS team has some wonderful samples to get your inspiration going,

so just hop on over to the Just Us Girls blog, and check out what the Design Team has created for you.

Then put your creative genes to work and add your card/project to the challenge post on the JUGS blog

for the chance to be selected as our Chic of the Week.

Can’t wait to see what you all create!

I got this sketch idea from retro Sketches…..but the link closed before I could post this one! 😦

Anniversary Celebration @ DD

The Dynamic Duos are Celebrating a One Year Anniversary!

To celebrate they are asking us to create a project using one of our PAST COLOUR COMBOS.

I chose this one!

Pink and Black look amazing together…don’t ya think?

If this card looks familiar I made one almost like it a few months back and

I decided I liked it so well that I would do it again with some sentiment changes!

DSCN4851

I decided to go outside and take the photo for a change…since I still had daylight!

Hope you have an amazing day,

and CONGRATS to the Dynamic Duos for there one year Anniversary!  I love your Challenges!
