With Gratitude…

Hello, It may not feel like fall in my neck of the woods quite yet…or ever…LOL, but it didn’t stop me from getting out my fall decorations today along with my favorite fall leaves from SU to make a card. Before I got to work, I needed to go find some challenge blogs to play along with.  I sometimes feel like a challenge blog addict. LOL If I was retired I think I would start another one myself!  The two I am joining today are The Paper Players Tic Tac Toe Challenge, where I have chosen the row going down (FALL, ORANGE, and LEAVES) and Happy Little Stampers (ANYTHING GOES WITH DIES.) Hold onto your hats folks…..I am about to say something a bit rare!! I am extremely happy with the way this card came out.  In fact, so happy that I made two of them, and one I will be sharing later next month with a JUGS challenge.

Card details: SU-cardstock, sentiment, and leaves. I did the watercolor smooshing technique for the leaves. Then did the outline in gold to match the embossed sentiment. I distressed my kraft cardstock with some oxide ink. MFT-banner die and Mod Rectangles. Gold Nuvo drops to finish it off!

So happy you stopped by, Have a creative week! Nanc’

Sunflowers

Hello, Boy was I excited when I saw this gorgeous photo for our Photo Week at Just Us Girls.  Who doesn’t love sunflowers…am I right?  I knew I had this gorgeous Gina K. sunflower stamp just waiting to be colored in my studio.  It’s not my stamp, but one I stamped when I was visiting my friend Barb this past summer.  It’s always fun perusing your friend’s collections and bringing them back home to use on future cards. Before I go I need to say thanks to Janet Ribet for being with us this month! You were a joy to have on board and do amazing work.

Have a great day and hope to see you at Just Us Girls. Who knows you may be our next guest!! Nanc’

Card Details:  Gina K-Sunflower and sentiment, Brick Wall EF-SU, MFT rectangles- both stitched and scalloped, Copic markers.

Geometric Shapes

We have a fun topping starting today over at Seize the Birthday! Tae Eun wants us to use Geometric Shapes on our cards and or projects. I made a card for this challenge a few days earlier and I wasn’t happy with it.  I decided to try again and I am so glad I did.

Card Info:  The dies are frantic stamper square tangled frames. The stamp is Gina K-Vertical Greetings and things.  Colored with Copics.

Hope you will head on over to STB and check out the teams work and play along! Nanc’

Critters and or Chickens

I am down to the wire but wanted to be sure to play along over at the Twofer Challenge.  I love this challenge and do everything in my power to play along when I can. The word Darnell has for us this month is Critters.  That leaves it wide open, as the definition is “any living creature”, hence my above chickens.  It was nice creating after dinner last night after a long Monday at work. Stamping is not something I do a lot during the week, but it was very relaxing last night and maybe I should try it more often. It helped that hubby made dinner too.

I should have left well enough alone, but unfortunately decided to outline the hey chick in brown.  Looks terrible. 😦 Such is life!

The first card is for a good friend of mine that is need of a pick me up. I am the tall chicken In the back, as she is not even 5 feet tall. LOL The second card is a Birthday card with the sentiment on the inside.

Have a great day! Nanc’

Card details: 2-Stampin up stamp sets, EF is also SU, Dies are a mix of Sizzix, MFT and SU. Copic markers and colored pencil, and the button is from MFT. The inspiration came from this card.

Watercoloring-Happy Birthday

Hello,  Yesterday, I said goodbye to a friend of mine that passed away much too young. Carol was a fellow card maker and a Middle School Science teacher too. Hubby was a coworker of hers for many years. Hubby and I attended the funeral together. It was quaint and absolutely heartfelt, and let’s just say perfect. She would have loved it. I could feel her smiling down from above as the songs were sung.  As I was making my card today, I couldn’t help but think of Carol and her family.  I will miss my friend, our talks in the car on the way to our monthly card club, and our luncheons or dinners we often shared together. I will miss her yes, but am also very thankful she is no longer suffering.  She fought a hard battle for the last three years and never got to enjoy her retirement. Cancer Sucks!

As I began today, I had these two challenges in mind; CAS Watercolour Challenge and The Flower Challenge. Over at CAS they asked us to use the Color Wheel.  We were to select two color hues at opposite ends of the color wheel. As you can see above, I chose red and green. Over at The Flower Challenge, it’s still Anything Goes.

I can’t take credit for this layout, I was truly inspired by this stunning card by Debbie Olson. I can’t begin to tell you how many times I have stopped by and stared at it.

Hugs, Nanc’

Card Details: Water-coloring and heat embossing, Gina K-Sweet Cameilla stamp set, and Verve’s Sentiment.

More Christmas…

hello, I have another Christmas card for you today using the colors we have starting over at Just Us Girls. Our colors are Mint Green, Shades of Gray and White. I did the smooshing technique on watercolor paper for my poinsettia and love the way it turned out.  There is a slightly darker cast on the petals that looks a tad blue but still so happy with the results. The scalloped heart at the bottom was made with a MS punch. The shaped dies are from SU and the sentiment is Verve.  Both colored card stocks are SU.

You have to come over to JUGS and see the rest of the team’s cards…they are fabulous!  While you are there, I hope you get inspired to join us! Nanc’

It’s Just a Number!

Hello my friends,  Hope your week is being good to you! Today’s card is for the next topping over at Seize the Birthday! Our topping that Collen has chosen is Numbers. I got out one of my favorite stencils and my oxide inks to make my background.  Then I found the perfect sentiment from SU to finish it off. I think the wonky rectangles from MFT are so fun to use too.

Hope you will come on over to Seize the Birthday and check out the rest of the DT’s cards and help us in welcoming our newest Surprise Party Guest…Annie from Pawsitive Thoughts by Annie!  We are so happy you are with us Annie!

Take care, Nanc’

You are my Missing Piece

Hello,  Back again with another card today this one if for the Fusion Card Challenge where I opted on just the sketch this time.  This SU puzzle piece set is so much fun to use. I paired it with this beautiful paper from Bo Bunny.  Added some little hearts and rhinestones and I was done.

Mr.& Mrs.

Hello,  Today’s card is for the Less is More challenge using Metallics.  Anything with a bit of shimmer is so hard to photograph, and this card is nothing but shine so it was a real challenge. It looks ten times better in person!

Card Details: SU stamps, Silver embossing powder on all stamps and the Ribbon Heart die is from Poppy Stamps.  Even the wire ribbon has shimmer. The smaller hearts are punched out of the same glittery background paper as the large ribbon heart die. Added some rhinestones for more shine.

Thanks for stopping in, Nanc’
