Magical

Hello,  Today’s card is for the new topping starting over at Seize the Birthday! The topping is Creatures Great and Small, and I knew right away that I wanted to use my MFT dragons. I made this card for a sweet student at my school that is nonverbal and in a wheelchair, but lights up the room when she smiles.  She does a great job of communicating despite her challenges and she is an inspiration to me each and every day!  We all could learn a lot from her.

I used mostly MFT products for my card, a bit of Verve, and Prisma colored pencils.

Come on over and check out all the cards from our DT and our Surprise Party Guest, Joyce Mehrberg, over at Seize the Birthday and play along!  Nanc’

You are my sunshine…

Hello, I hope the sun is shining today in your neck of the woods.  It’s shining both inside and outside my studio today as you will see above.  Today’s card was inspired by the fun sketch going on over at The Paper Players. The whimsical sun stamp and sentiment is a very old set by Verve that I have always adored. The background you probably recognize as it’s made from the same Lovely Lace stencil from Gina K that I have been using a lot lately.  I made a lot of backgrounds that day to use on future cards.  There is a piece of Fun Foam under each square sunray for added dimension.  I did struggle to get a good photo, and I believe it looks better than this in real life.

Now go create your own sunshine!  Nanc’

Just for you…

Hello,  Today’s card was inspired by the fun Sketch going on over at CAS(E) this Sketch. Not only did the sketch intrigue me, but DT member Michele Ferguson’s card really got me excited to play along. It is fabulous and got my wheels a crackin’. I have had these “new to me” butterflies from SU on my desk for quite some time and I am glad I found a reason to use them.  I started off using 3 colors of Oxide inks, some water, and a paintbrush along with a SU-striped stencil to make my rays of color. I did quite a few layers and I love the way it turned out. Next, I did the smooshing technique for the butterflies.  Finally, I fussy cut the butterflies out and all was going smoothly until it was time for the sentiment.  UGH!  It looks terrible! I guess I rocked the block a bit.  I was going to start over or cover it with a tag and then remembered my word “Acceptance” (New Year’s Resolution) and refrained. Folks, it wasn’t easy!

I am so glad you stopped by today!  Happy creating, Nanc’

Just for you…

Hello, and happy weekend! It’s time for Photo Week at Just Us Girls.  I must say when I started thinking about this card my mind went one way and the card completely ended entirely a different way by the time I was done. Sometimes that happens and it’s part of the process…right?

For my card, I have a mix of companies…Gina K-Stencil, Pretty Pink Posh-Butterflies, Altenew-sentiment, Paper Trey-Edge die, Oxide Inks.

Thanks to both of our Guests…Hannelie and Mary for being with us this month!

Before I go I have to share a picture of Lisa Kind (another JUG Head) and I together.  She was on vacation in Florida recently and we met one morning for coffee and breakfast. I absolutely love meeting fellow DT members and she is as sweet and as “Kind” as I thought she would be.  Lisa, I am so very glad we could make it happen!

Please ignore my stance as I was trying not to look like a giant as I tend to do. LOL

Head on over to Just Us Girls and check out the team and our guest cards, you won’t be disappointed!  Nanc’

Thank You

Hello,  I had a little time to whip up a card for a couple of challenges I have been eyeing this month.  The first is the CAS Watercolour Challenge where they have cool colors to inspire us and the other is Perfectly CAS where they have asked for a One Layer Card using one third or less of your card front.  This isn’t an easy task. I hope I am within those perimeters.  This is a new to me Challenge site, you should go on and check it out!

This beautiful Hydrangea stamp is from Gina K and the sentiment is from MFT. I heat embossed both the sentiment and the floral.

I sure hope you had an awesome day or are in the midst of having one! Happy creating, Nanc’

Hearts

Hello, I hope your day is off to a great start! Today I have a couple of cards for you with Hearts in mind, as I am playing along with the Twofer Challenge this month where they are celebrating their Second Anniversary!  Congrat Darnell and team! You know how much I love this challenge site and I hope you are around for many more years to come.  I am also going to link one of my cards up over at CAS Stencil where they asked us to use a “New” stencil.  The cards all began with this great Die cut from Stampin UP called Bloomin Heart.  It’s so intricate and is pretty all by itself.

Fo the wood grain Valentine card, I added some red florals that come along in the die set along with a LOVE die cut from Simon Says Stamps. I used both red and gold paper for a layered look. The YOU sentiment is from Verve along with the banner die which I doubled as well.

For the floral birthday card, I used this new stencil called Lovely Lace from Gina K. Designs.  I posted a card yesterday using the same stencil and that was the first time I had used it.   I made about five different panels in an array of colors, as they were so pretty and easy to do.  I just love the Pink Oxide ink called Worn Lipstick, don’t you? The heart die is also sponged with the Oxide Ink along with the Victorian border die on the bottom. The YOU letter dies and the solid Heart Die are both MFT. The sentiment is Verve.

Here is the pink one by itself.

I hope you have a very creative day and thanks so much for popping in! Nanc’

New Stencil

Hello, Today’s card is for the CAS Stencil Challenge where they want us to use a New Stencil on our card!  I have had this GIna K stencil called Lovely Lace for quite some time and was thrilled to break the seal and put it to use. I also have a new Oxide Ink I have been itching to use.  The color is called Seedless Preserves.  Not sure the picture shows that well, but I have a double-layered butterfly with the top piece being made with patterned vellum. The butterfly is from Saavy and the sentiment is Scrapbook.com.

I will be making more of these quick and simple cards for sure!

Thanks for stopping in and I hope you have a very creative day!   Nanc’

Thanks….a tiny word!

Hi,  It’s time for my favorite, which is Color Week, at Just Us Girls.  Mark my words when I retire I would absolutely love to start a color challenge blog, as I find them so easy to do!  Today’s colors are Purple, Red, and Pink which were quite fun to work with.  I started off by making a frame stencil to make my background using Oxide Inks.  Love the clean lines that is revealed when you peel the stencil away. Next, I made another stencil with my Lawn Fawn sun die.  Then, here is when disappointment struck! I knew I wanted to add some Hybiscus flowers to my card, so I got out my SU Hybiscus stamp set and matching die cuts when I realized the matching die was MIA!!!  You have no idea how upset I got over this! I was pretty broken up, I must say!  I bought this stamp set for one purpose only and it was for the Hybiscus stamp and die and NOW the die is MISSING. UGH!  I looked high and low and had to result in praying that someday I find it attached to another set and all will be well with the world once again! LOL Fussy cutting until then!  The sentiment is also from Stampin Up and is one of my favs.  Have you ever lost one of your favorite stamps or dies?  It happened to me one other time and Julee Tilman (from Verve) the sweetheart that she is, replaced it for free!

Please join us at JUGS…I would love to see you there! Hugs, Nanc’

Stencils at STB

Hello, We have a fun and easy topping starting today over at Seize the Birthday.  The topping I selected this time around is stenciling.  I along with many of you, I have quite a few of these fun things laying around and it was time to put them to use.  This fun water splash stencil is from MFT.  In fact, the entire card was made with MFT products.  I used Oxide Inks for my background and colored pencil for my medium.

I would love for you to come over and check out the rest of the Design Team’s cards and hope you get inspired to play along!

Hope you have a creative day, Nanc’

Dimension

Hello, I hope your day is off to a great start! Today it’s time for a new challenge over at Just Us Girls, and the Trend that we have for you is to add dimension to your card and or project.  The sand that I have surrounding the lighthouse has been raised with pop dots for the required dimension. This card was fun to put together. We also have two Guest Designers joining us this month, they are Hannelie and Mary.  Everyone did such a great job with this Trend, you must come by and check them out… and then consider joining us!

All products are Stampin Up.

Happy Stamping,  Nanc’
