Color my world with family, friends and some time to be creative making cards!

Thanks….a tiny word!

Hi,  It’s time for my favorite, which is Color Week, at Just Us Girls.  Mark my words when I retire I would absolutely love to start a color challenge blog, as I find them so easy to do!  Today’s colors are Purple, Red, and Pink which were quite fun to work with.  I started off by making a frame stencil to make my background using Oxide Inks.  Love the clean lines that is revealed when you peel the stencil away. Next, I made another stencil with my Lawn Fawn sun die.  Then, here is when disappointment struck! I knew I wanted to add some Hybiscus flowers to my card, so I got out my SU Hybiscus stamp set and matching die cuts when I realized the matching die was MIA!!!  You have no idea how upset I got over this! I was pretty broken up, I must say!  I bought this stamp set for one purpose only and it was for the Hybiscus stamp and die and NOW the die is MISSING. UGH!  I looked high and low and had to result in praying that someday I find it attached to another set and all will be well with the world once again! LOL Fussy cutting until then!  The sentiment is also from Stampin Up and is one of my favs.  Have you ever lost one of your favorite stamps or dies?  It happened to me one other time and Julee Tilman (from Verve) the sweetheart that she is, replaced it for free!

Please join us at JUGS…I would love to see you there! Hugs, Nanc’

  1. Fantastic card.

  2. Way to rock these colors! I love that blended background and how you made your own stencils for the blended area and sun. Perfect placement of those hibiscus flowers, too. Yes, I have lost a die here and there and amazingly just kind of show up aftering hiding out for a while. I hope your die turns up soon!

  3. I love how you managed to work these colors together on a card. Great way to accent the colors with the flowers and that sentiment is one that I need to have. HInt Hint Lastly the sun peeking over the die cut is fun and a great addition.

  4. How fun our minds went to the same direction for using the colors 🙂 — your card is very pretty

  5. Simply gorgeous Nancy. What a beautiful way you have used this weeks colours. So sunny and tropical and no doubt you are all rugged up in winter woolies while I bask in sunshine from your card.

  6. The ink blending is beautiful, Nancy, and the little flowers add a soft touch. The sentiment is fantastic. I thought I lost a die once during a crafting day with Michele. She called me when she got home. It had fallen out of a tear in the package and into her tote that she brought her supplies in. I also have a die that is waiting for me to find what set it goes to. I must not use that one often because it’s been waiting a long time.

  7. Oh Nancy, that is heartbreaking! That happened to me with an owl die. I looked high and low and thought that it would be found behind my shelving unit when finally moved, but to no avail. I even emptied the garbage can and went through that! But your card is gorgeous! Even your fussy cutting is perfect! Great meeting up with you last week! 🙂
