Screen Shot 2016-03-05 at 12.20.34 PMHello Friends,  It’ time for our Wild Card Week at Just Us Girls.  Ina is hosting and has asked us to make our favorite fold or shaped card.  I have been eyeing this die-cut at my school for quite sometime and I knew right away that this was the challenge to finally get a chance to use it. This card was quick, easy and fun to put together!  Here is another view so you can see the lens is popped up for dimension. The paper is from Stampin Up and the sentiment is made from a set of alphabet stamps. This is going to be a belated Birthday card that I am sure I will need someday soon.

Photo Week @ JUGS!

DSC_0128Screen Shot 2016-03-09 at 3.35.21 PMHello Friends, Hope you are having a great day!  Today over at Just Us Girls it’s Photo week and our hostess is Bobby.  As you can see by my card I gravitated towards the lemonade pitcher in the photo.  There is nothing better than a tall glass of lemonade on a beautiful Spring day, which is exactly the type of weather we are having in Florida these days.  It has been absolutely a sensational Spring! This fun Lemonade Stamp set is from Stampin Up and I really enjoyed creating this card. The glass is made from vellum that I colored with some SU ink.  I even decided to color some small vellum squares in hopes that they would look like ice cubes.  That didn’t work out so well, because you can barely see that they are there behind the glass.  This card was quick, easy, and fun to do.  I have seen cards similar to this card all over Pinterest and have been wanting to give it a try.  I sure hope you find sometime to join us this week over at Just Us Girls.  We sure would love to have you!  Take care and happy Stampin’ Nanc’

Anything Goes and Mojo Monday!

DSC_0132

STB Anything GoesHello Friends,  It’s Thursday and time for another challenge over at Seize the Birthday!  This time around it’s Anything Goes, so the sky is the limit, it just has to be a Birthday card and or project. I am also combining this card with a Sketch that I fell in love with over at Mojo Monday, along with a fantastic color/ photo challenge that they are calling Tropical Chic over at the Verve Blog.  So once I found this great sketch and beautiful color scheme I was well on my way to creating this fun Birthday card.  The sentiment and the long spotted die is from Verve and the flowers are a Sizzix die.  Hope you have a terrific day and if you find yourself creating over the next couple of weeks….consider making a Birthday card and linking it up with us over at Seize the Birthday!  Take care,  Nanc’

Color Week @ JUGS!

DSC_0108

Screen Shot 2016-03-05 at 3.33.06 PMHello Friends,  It’s Saturday and you know what that means.  It’s time for a brand new challenge over at Just Us Girls.  Judy is our hostess and she has selected a great trio of colors for us to use. I must admit at first I was really struggling with these colors, but after digging through my drawers of paper and coming across this piece of Bo Bunny peach polka dots, I felt much better. Peach isn’t a color I have a ton of….do you? Anyhoo, I also knew I wanted to play along with the sketch over at Viva la Verve, so things came together perfectly at that point.  If you find yourself with some time over the next week to be creative….come on over to JUGS and join us! We would sure love to have you in our gallery!  I hope you have a fantastic day! Nanc’  All stamps are from Verve BTW!

Mojo Monday

DSC_0111

Mojo442Hello Friends,  I nearly missed the chance to play with this week’s Monday Mojo Sketch, but luckily hubby went golfing today so I got to sneak in some me time this afternoon.  I wanted to get some more ink on my new Chocolate Set from Verve that I just love and still had these great colors laying out on my desk, so things came together wonderfully quick! Using Crystal Effects on the dripping chocolate makes it look real doesn’t it? That sentiment is so true isn’ it?  I have had my fair share of chocolate today for sure! Hope you have a terrific week!  Nanc’

Smooshing @ JUGS!

DSC_0102

Screen Shot 2016-03-05 at 11.57.39 AMHello Friends,  Happy Saturday!  Today, starting over at Just Us Girls, Sue has a fun technique for you to try and it’s not difficult either.  It’s called the smooshing technique and the great part about it is, you can’t mess it up. There are a few different ways to achieve this effect but the way I did it was; I took some watercolored paper, three of my SU inks, a piece of acetate, and my spritzer filled with water. If you have never tried this technique before, here is a video by Kristina Werner that will help get you started! CTS_167I saw this great sketch a few days ago over at CAS(E) this Sketch and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it.  I knew I wanted to use my new stamps and dies from Verve that I just got, and finally an idea came to me.  I did stretch the sketch just a tad when I added the sentiment in the top left corner, but I really felt I needed to add it to make the card work. I sure hope I won’t be disqualified!

I had a great time with this card and I sure hope to see you in our gallery at JUGS this week giving the smooshing technique a try!  Who knows you may even be chosen as our next Chic of the Week!   Take care, Nanc’

Floral at Seize the Birthday

DSC_0088

STB ToppingsHello Friends,  Have you ever had a time where you sit down to make a card and from start to finish you run into problem after problem? Well this is that very card from that very day! I have named it please forget me instead of unforgettable. If you want a chuckle…keep reading!  It all started when I decided to CASE this fabulous card from Laurie Schmidlin.  Then it went down hill from there. I am going to paraphrase some of the details to make this short and sweet!  Okay here we go….three attempts to make the flowers go in an arch, adhered the card upside down on the card base, was completely finished and realized this card was for Seize the Birthday and it has to be a birthday card and already stamped unforgettable, figured out how to fix that by adding Have An and then was going to put Birthday on the inside, just about done and was getting ready to finish the inside and preceded to drop the ink pad on the corner of the card. UGH!  Now you know why the happy birthday is so awkwardly placed on the corner.  I am not done yet! I then decide to call it a day and clean up my studio.  I have the stamp and scrub pad from Stampin Up and let’s just say the speckles of blue on my card were not intentional.  Apparently when you are scrubbing your stamps to close to your work surface the ink form the pad splatters. I didn’t even notice till I went to take my photo.  So there you have my please forget me birthday card! LOL

Before I go I would like to welcome Patti our new Surprise Party Guest for the months of April and May over at Seize the Birthday. I have linked up her blog Stationary Styles for you, and trust me when I say you want to visit her blog!  Be sure to scroll a lot, as she does some really fabulous work!  Welcome Patti, I am so glad you are with us!  If I forgot to mention our topping this time over at STB is Floral! We all love to make cards with flowers, so won’t you join us?  ( Most products are from Stampin Up.)

Have a unforgettable day! Nanc’

Inspired by All The Little Things

DSC_0097

Guest Designer BadgeToday, I am so very thrilled to be the Creative Guest Designer for “Inspired by All The Little Things.” When Lesley messaged me a few weeks ago and asked if I would would be interested….of course it was a resounding YES!  Who wouldn’t…right?  I was down right honored and super excited! The picture below is the source of my inspiration!  When I first saw the photo I was super excited because just recently I have been dabbling with watercolors, and I am enjoying it so much and can always use some more practice.  Lesley, also probably doesn’t realize, but she is the one that inspired me to give watercolors another go, as she has been doing a lot of watercolors herself lately.  I will say that my first attempt was a complete bust!  I tried to mimic the photo perfectly by making the free form watercolors in the background and then stamping the flower image over top of the colors. It was a pathetic attempt. LOL  I then decided to get out my white embossing powder so I could have a bit more control of where the colors decided to flow.  Finally success! The strips of watercolored paper that I put on the top and bottom wasn’t to cover up a mistake which is usually the case, it was to add a little bit of interest. Now, please come on over to Inspired by All The Little Things and join us…I would love it if you did!  You may even learn something new about me while your there! 😉   Take care,  Nanc’

Raindrops keep falling on my head…

DSC_0100

Screen Shot 2016-03-05 at 11.55.07 AMHello Friends, Happy weekend!  Today over at Just Us Girls it’s word week and Lisa has selected the word Raindrops for us! I had such a great time fussy cutting my umbrellas for this card. However, the overall design and layout came from this card I came across over on Pinterest…it’s by Amy Kolling.  I am not sure my background is all that great, but I still had my watercolor brush out and thought …why not! The clouds are from Lawn Fawn and the umbrellas are paper pieced from a stamp I picked up who knows where. The sentiment is from Verve!

Please join us over at JUGS this week and who know…if your chosen as our Chic of the Week you just might be our next Guest Designer!  Hope to see you in our gallery! Nanc’
