Alcohol Ink Lifting…so fun!

Hello there,  This morning after I went and visited my dad, it was raining, so it was a perfect time to go play in the studio.  I knew I was going to get messy! I had so much fun making some awesome backgrounds. Thank goodness the manicure isn’t for another couple of weeks. LOL   Have you tried alcohol inks on Acetate?  It works so very well! The first thing I did was take my yellow and orange inks and spread them all over my piece of acetate. Then I took my sun stencil ( that clearly will never look the same) and used a blending solution to remove some of the colors.  Note: It happens very quickly on acetate. It was so simple with great results!   Last, I knew I had a perfect Verve stamp set to use for my additional sun and greeting. I colored the sun with Copics and colored pencil.  Some added layers behind the greeting to give it some dimension and I was done. My card was inspired by three challenges: CAS Stencil , Just Add Ink, and CAS(E) this Sketch.  I chose -Summer the season I am currently in for Just Add Ink.

Here is another picture!  Thanks for the visit and happy crafting! I am praying for more rain…LOL Nanc’

Smile…it’s your Birthday!

Hello friends,  Today over at Just Us Girls it’s Word Week and the word is Smile!  Last September when I was visiting MFT with (fellow DT member) Bobby and Michelle Ferguson (a friend I met online), I took a picture of a card in their lovely store that I fell in love with. Finally, nearly a year later I CASED it and added my own touch with the clouds.  It’s not perfect, but I do love how it turned out.  I used the MFT cloud stencil and Oxide inks to do my blending. I ended up making a mask to make it work out completely.

Below you will see a photo of the card that inspired me.

Card Details:  SMILE-wooden stamp, it’s your birthday-Verve, Clouds-Lawn Fawn, Wonky Rectangles-MFT.

Thanks for stopping in and if you have a chance to head over to Just Us Girls, please help us in welcoming our new Guest Emma Delfosse!

Thinking of You…

Hello,  Hope your day is off to a great start! Today’s card for Just Us Girls is inspired by both an Inspiration photo and a CASE of one of my previous cards but in different colors.  The card is a mix of Verve stamps, Oxide inks and a stencil, SU punch, and some heat embossing on both the border hearts and the butterfly too. You must come check out the rest of the team’s cards over at JUGS, everyone did a really fabulous job!

Before I go I would like to say a BIG thanks to Eva for being such a Stupendous guest!  Hope to see you in the gallery at JUGS!

Take care, Nanc’

Presents @ STB

Hello,  Hope you are having a creative week! The next topping over at Seize the Birthday that I am sure you are going to love is…PRESENTS! Who doesn’t like receiving presents on their birthday, or any time of the year is okay too! The stamp set I have for you today is an old one of Gina K Designs. I colored it with Prismas and did a light shadow under the gifts too. The sentiment is Verve of course.  Boy oh boy, do I ever need some new Birthday Greeting stamps. You all must be sick of seeing this stamp on nearly every Birthday card. This card was super fun to throw together.  I hope you will consider checking out the rest of the team’s amazing cards and join us too!

Take care, Nanc’

Spring…

Hello,  I hope Spring is finally starting to arrive where you are.  Spring happens to be our topping that Tae Eun has chosen this time at Seize the Birthday! Fits her to a tee since she’s all about florals. Today’s card is designed with a bit of this and that. The flowers are MFT, the background paper is SU and it has been sponged with Oxide Inks, the sentiment is Verve, and last but not least this great cover plate… is anybody’s guess, as it’s not mine. I really love it! I think it’s MFT but I would be guessing. I sponged the flowers as well to match the background.

Please come check out the team’s take on Spring!  See you there! Nanc’

Celebrate Your Day

Hello,  Today’s card was first inspired by the Monthly Mix over at Gina K. Designs.  The talented Karen Hightower has asked us to use Coral (or Orange) as the dominant color on our card and or project. I don’t make a lot of cards in orange, so this intrigued me right away, not to mention her own card was fabulous and so inspiring too. I am also going to link my card up over at the Rainbow Card Challenge (a new challenge site that I stumbled upon) where they have the same color this month.

Here is a bit of info on my card. The background butterfly stamps, vase and flowers are from Gina K. Designs, the rectangle dies are SU, and the sentiment is from Verve.  The images where embossed with white embossing powder, and I water colored my vase and flowers.

I so appreciate you stopping by, Nanc’

Poppy-Get Well Soon

Hello,  I am taking advantage of having a long weekend.  After my chores were done yesterday, I gravitated to my studio to make a card for the latest CAS Watercolour Challenge. I just pray that is CAS enough. I started off by heat embossing my Verve Poppy stamp and then watercoloured it with some Altenew inks both in Ruby Red and Coral Berry. The sentiment is from Verve as well. The leaves are a MS punch. I made the victorian scallop with my Fiskars cutter.  I just love the texture the Watercoloured paper adds to a card.

I am also linking up with The Paper Players this week as well where their challenge is Monochromatic.

I hope you are having a wonderful day too, Nanc’

Happy Birthday

IMG_0501.jpg

Hello, Hope your day is off to a good start.  It’s time again for our Anything Goes over at Seize the Birthday.  I would love for you to join us, but please remember to make it a Birthday theme.

Here are a few card details:  I got this wooden stamp recently and couldn’t wait to ink it up!  First, I inked it up with very light grey ink and then colored it in with Prisma Colored Pencils. I believe it’s only the second or third time that I have colored on black cardstock. I love the look of it, and not sure why I don’t do it more. The banner die is from MFT and the sentiment is from Verve. In hindsight, I wish I hadn’t added the various (MFT) leaves in the open spaces…but what you gonna’ do. What’s done is done.

I would love to also link this card up over at The Flower Challenge where they want us to use one of our latest stamps.

The DT and our Surprise Party Guest Julie have really got some great cards over on the blog, come on over and check them out.

Take care, Nanc’

Love YOU!

Hello there,  Today over at Just Us Girls we have a new challenge starting and the word Ina has for us this week is LOVE!  Easy huh?  I stepped out of the box a bit and decided to do something that wasn’t red, which is the typical color we all think of when you hear that word. I also would like to welcome out guest designer…Lisa Elton, https://mypapertales.blogspot.com/.  She will be with us all month! Welcome Lisa, we are thrilled you are joining us!

Here is a bit about my card!  Flower is very dear to me and is from Verve! One of my first stamps I ever bought from Julee. The leaves are a punch from SU and then embossed for added texture. The flowers were colored using the smooshing technique and oxide inks. I think they came out great! The heart die is from MFT, the love die is from Neat and Tangled and the you is Simon Says Stamps. The background was lightly stenciled.

I am so happy you paid me a visit.  If you are creating this week…please won’t you join us! Nanc’

Birds at Twofer!

It’s coming down to the wire, but I finally have two cards ready for the Twofer Challenge. The theme this month is Birds.  However, that is one stamp I don’t have a “flock” of. Yes, I went there!  LOL Over the long weekend as I was pondering this dilemma, I remembered I had a Verve set with a bird in it that I could use. Score! Love when things fall into place.

Here are a few details…For the white card; I used some MFT floral stamps and dies, sentiment is from Darcies, and a piece of vellum to soften the center of the card. I doubled my scallop die underneath my SU stitched circle, Finally, I added a side bow, as I felt like it needed something more. For the floral card; I used a beautiful piece of DSP (that I have been saving from Kaiser), I lightly inked and paper pieced my little bird, flowers/dies are also MFT, the branch is from SU, and the sentiment is from Hero Arts.  I cut a hole in the DSP, cause in the pic it appears the blue piece is on top.  That fun stitched rounded corners die is from MFT.

Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by.  I very much appreciate your visits! Nanc’
