Thank you

Hello, I hope your weekend is going well. Today I needed to make a Thank You card for a generous friend so I went searching for a color palette to spark my creativity. I came across the Sunday Stamps challenge and I thought it was so pretty. The rule for their color challenge is you have to choose at least 3 colors, which just so happens to be the way I like to create. I find that if I try to throw too many colors together (besides neutrals) it turns into a hot mess. So I chose the two shades of green and orange for my design. I also have some brown thrown in there too, but mine is much lighter than the graphic.

Here is a closeup so you can see the cute cream pots. The paper is speckled so I thought it was a nice touch. I used some SU DSP for my flowers.

I am also playing along with Darnell over at NBUS as I just received this Spring Garden set a few days ago from a sweet friend. Lucky me!

Card Details: Spring Garden from MFT, the sentiment is from Verve. To make my victorian edge at the top of the card, I used my Fiskers cutter.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend, Nanc’

Birthday Wishes

Hello, I am back today with a card for the next topping at Seize the Birthday. Cathy is our fabulous hostess and she picked Metallics as our topping. We also have a brand new Surprise Party Guest joining us who is no stranger to card making; the talented Karren Johnson will be with us for the next two months. Welcome, Karen! I am very delighted to have you with us!

At first thought, you might think that are topping is hard but it is really rather simple. For instance, you could use; Foiling, Foiled or metallic colored cardstock, metallic mica sprays, gilding flakes, metallic embossing powders, metallic sheets, and or embellishments, just to name a few! I chose to use a silver foiled card stock on today’s card.

The recipient of this card- Linda Snodgrass loves butterflies and she actually received this card yesterday in person. I love meeting up with crafty friends when they are in town or close by visiting. Nothing better!!! It’s actually the third time we have met up and it’s always so easy and enjoyable. Here is a pic below of us together. Love ya Linda, and thanks for spending your morning with me.

Card Details: Butterflies are from Birch Press Design. The pretty silver background is from SU in their So Detailed Thinlits set. The greeting is from Verve. The green stems are also from SU and in the Forever Fern set. A rather quick card to put together with good results, I would say.

I am also linking up over at Addicted to Stamps and More where the challenge is Birthday. They also have a DT call if you are interested.

I certainly hope you pop on over to Seize the Birthday and check out my fabulous teammate’s cards, as they all did such a great job with this topping! Remember our topping is optional too, any Birthday card will do!

Take care and happy creating, Nanc’

Fusion-Birthday

Hello, I am back today with another card and today’s inspiration all started with this awesome picture over at Fusion. As soon as I saw it, I immediately was intrigued. I just loved the shiplap background and those beautiful wheels that remind me of wreaths. Look very closely and you will see that I made a shiplap background as my starting point. The yellow butterfly and gold dots were used to mimic the lights in the pic. It was a very quick card to put together with good results.

Card Details: The wreath and all the foliage are retired and from Stampin Up. The Butterfly is from Birch Press Designs. The greeting is from Verve-retired too. I put three layers under my sentiment for some depth.

I hope you enjoyed your day however you chose to spend it! Take care, Nanc’

All I Want for Christmas…

Hello, Hope you are doing well! Today I am playing along with the Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge and what they want us to do is make our card masculine. Of course, it must also be Coffee and Christmas-related. I have had this sentiment and fun fold card panel waiting in a drawer for years and I am so happy to finally put it to use.

Card Details: The sentiment is probably from Stampin Up. The AND die and coffee cups are from MFT, and the arrow and Coffee die on the inside are from Verve. I used a bit of Antique Linen Oxide ink to ink up the coffee cups.

I am so glad I finally took the time to once again play along with this challenge, as it’s certainly time to get started on those Christmas cards. Have you started on yours? I have ten done so far!

Take care, Nanc’

With Sympathy

I am back again today with TWO more cards that were inspired by the Tic Tac Toe Challenge and the Just Add Ink Challenge where they have asked us to CASE ourselves. I so very often do this so I knew right away I wanted to play along. For the TTT Board, I have selected the center column of; Floral, Free, and Embellishments.

Card Number 2

Here is the original card I am CASEing along with the link to the post!

Card Details: The heart stencil is from Honey Bee Stamps, the other stencil is a mystery to me but one of my favs. The Daisy wreath is from Pink Fresh Studio and is a stencil, die combo. The sentiments are SU and Verve. I used Oxide Inks for my blending. I added sequins on both cards to finish them off. The center of my Daisy has a bit of clear Nuvo drops and some glitter as well.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend! I will be back tomorrow! Take care, Nanc’

Monthly Mix Challenge-Gina K

Hello, Today I am playing along with the Monthly Mix Challenge over at Gina K Designs where my lovely friend Barb is hostess. The challenge is to use an Image, Die-cut, and Sentiment on your project. Such an easy one!

Do you ever take a card just a tiny bit too far and wish you had listened to your gut when it told you to stop? Well, that is how I feel about this card. Everything was going well till I decided to make a mask of the hydrangea stamp and stamp the text in the background. Two things happened that I am not crazy about. First, I should have cut the white piece out of the middle of the flowers because now it looks weird because it has no text, and two, the color ink I chose for my words was just too dark. I wanted something a bit more subtle. But what’s done is done and you have to move on.

Card Details: Hydrangea-Gina K Designs, sentiment is also Gina K, the leaves EF is from ?, the word background is SSS. I used my Copics as my medium and a very small bit of Colored pencil on the leaves. I came back with a white gel pen for the center of the flowers. Sequins and string and I was done.

Happy Mother’s Day to all you moms out there! This is not my favorite holiday, so hubby and I are taking our bikes to St. Pete for the day! Should be a great distraction from missing my son!

Take care and happy crafting, Nanc’

Birthday Wishes

Hello, I am back today with a Birthday card which so happens to be for the challenge starting today at Seize the Birthday! I am the hostess and I chose Butterflies and or Hummingbirds as my topping. I tend to gravitate towards butterflies but I was determined to break out my Pretty Pink Posh Hummingbirds instead, after all, that is why I purchased them…right? I think I have used them maybe three times and that might be stretching the truth a bit. This card took hours to come together and that was not necessarily the coloring. Does that happen to you sometimes? I must have walked away from it at least three times. I used Copics for my coloring and a bit of white pencil for some final touches.

Card Details: The hummingbirds-Pretty Pink Posh, the scalloped edge die is from Lawn Fawn. The greeting is from Verve. The stenciled die is from MFT and called-Geometric Grid. The die-flowers and leaves are from Pink and Main. I used a dotted EF to give the leaves a bit of texture and some pearl centers on my flowers.

I hope you will come and check out the fabulous cards over at Seize the Birthday along with our wonderful Surprise Party Guest, Deepti! This is her last challenge with us and I am so very sad to see her go. Her work is always stellar. Take care, Deepti!

Thanks for stopping by and make sure you take some time to do something creative today, Nanc’

MOM

Hello, Things have been on the quieter side of things as of late here in blogland, as we are in the midst of doing some interior and exterior house painting, and things are not where they should be. You know how that goes. I did sneak in a bit of craft time this morning before the real work begins of putting my house back together. Sadly, my studio did not make the final cut on the new paint list as it really didn’t need it as much as I wanted it. LOL

I decided to play along with the ladies over at Tic Tac Toe Challenge. I had this stenciled panel waiting to be used on my desk, so half the work was done for me. I chose the top row of Mom, Florals, and Ink blending when in fact my card works for three rows on their fun board! That was a happy accident.

I noticed this morning that Time Out Challenges has a theme of Spring beginning, so I will be linking up there as well.

Card Details: Stencil is from Miss Ink Stamps, the MOM is from Simon Says Stamps, the flowers are from Pink and Main, and the leaf die is from Verve, the other small greeting is from Simon Says Stamps. A few rhinestones and I was done. Not sure you can tell but I used vellum as my shadow on my mom die.

I hope you find something to do today that brings you joy, Take care, Nanc’

Egg

Hi, I am back today with another Easter card as promised. This one goes with Just Us Girls Word Week where Elizabeth is our wonderful hostess. She has chosen EGG for us! Perfect for this time of year. We also have a brand new guest joining us today that really needs no introduction, the fabulous Mac Mable is our guest for the entire month. Welcome, Mac!

Card Details: The bunnies and eggs, are from Spellbinders, the greeting is from Verve, the grass and scalloped edge border are MFT. The other decorative borders were made with my Fiskars. The tiny flowers are from Sizzix. I sponged the background behind the bunnies when the card was done…poorly I might add.

Make sure you do something today that brings you joy and if that happens to be card making! Join us at Just Us Girls!

Take care, Nanc’
