Copic and Prisma with Gina K.

Hello,  I have been on a coloring quest lately and it’s been fun! Very relaxing in these tough times. The base of my Gina K. Designs roses has a layer or two of Copic markers underneath, and because I am still not very good with those I can’t help myself but come back with Prisma colored pencils for the shadows and shading. The stamp set is called Peaceful Roses and the sentiment is from the Heartfelt Hydrangea set. The Dp is also Gina K Designs.  I made the decorative lattice edge with a Martha Stewart punch.

I found this fun Tic Tac Toe Challenge to play along with before I put my card together today.  I have chosen the center row of Blooms, Designer Paper, and Layers. There is also Anything Goes going on over at Addicted to Stamps and More.

Here are a couple more photos as I couldn’t decide which picture I liked best and what background to use. The last picture is when I was nearly done coloring it. I added some more dark shadows after I took the pictures.  I always have trouble knowing when to stop when coloring. Do you?

Thinking of You

Hello,  Yes another Saturday has rolled around.  Over at Just Us Girls, we have a beautiful photo to remind us that Spring is upon us, even if we aren’t out and about enjoying it as much as we would like to be, it’s still evident.  I do try to make a point to get outside multiple times a day. It may be just to clear my head or get my muscles moving and my eyes away from the screen for a few minutes.  Hubby and I go for long bike rides in the evenings too.

For today’s cards… I decided I wanted to embrace some of my Designer Paper for this project. Yellow seemed to be the color that drew me in in this photo. I paired the paper with one of my favorite die sets by Stampin Up.  The sentiment is from Verve.

Come by Just Us Girls and show us how this photo inspires you!  Before I go I would like to say thank you to our wonderful guest Cornelia.  She has been with us this month and did an amazing job with her cards! Take care, Nanc’

Forget the Cake

Hello,  Today over at Seize the Birthday we have a new challenge starting and our topping this time is Food and or Drink.  If you don’t want to use the topping that is fine too any type of Birthday card will do. This card was made with all Stampin Up supplies except for the Victorian edged piece of paper that is going horizontally across the middle of the card.  That was made with my Fiskars cutter, a tool that I will never tire of.  Please hop on over to the STB and check out all the cards from the design team.

Before I go, I want to take a minute and thank Stef Perry for being such an amazing Surprise Party Guest for the past two months.  We will miss your creativity Stef and hope you will join us from time to time.

Happy Crafting and stay well, Nanc’

Sweet Friend Watercoloring

Hello,  I have another card using this fabulous Gerbera Daisy stamp from Simon Says Stamps.  I wanted to join in the fun over at CAS Watercolour where their challenge is Spring Flowers.  I used an oldy but goody tool from back in the day when I sold Creative Memories to make my swaying hill design.  I have no idea why I didn’t pull out my many stitched border dies. LOL. Please tell me that sometimes you all forget too what you even have in your mounds of supplies that would have made things simpler.  The sentiment is from Gina K Designs.  In hindsight, I wish I would have left the top right flower uncolored as well.

I am also going to link this up over at Time Out Challenges as well.  They have a challenge that is inspired by words.

Thanks for paying me a visit I so appreciate it! Take care and happy crafting! Nanc’

Thanks for Being Kind

Hello, I have been immersing myself into water coloring this weekend and I finally have a card that I am rather happy with.  My friend Barb is an amazing designer, colorist, and cardmaker and a very great friend, and she is hosting a challenge Flowers for the Front Line over at The Power Poppy blog and I wanted to join in the fun!  Not sure if you have ever seen the talent over there, but it’s truly remarkable! I knew I was going to have to step up my game to even enter something in the gallery.

I have had this fabulous Gerbera Daisy background stamp from SSS for quite some time and had yet to break the package and open it up.  So, once again I am going to enter it over at NBUS and this will be my third entry over at The Flower Challenge.

The sentiment is from MFT and the Kind die is from SSS. ( Never used as well.) I have three layers under the Kind die for added dimension.

Thanks so much for stopping by and please stay well! Nanc’

Nautical Birthday

Hello, It’s Saturday in case you were uncertain and time for the next challenge at Just Us Girls.  I have been messing around with my terrible photography skills and major computer issues so just bear with me until I figure things out again.  Sometimes I use my phone, hubby’s iPhone 11, and or my camera and it’s been a real mess.  So anyway, today’s card came out quite orange instead of rust if you haven’t noticed, but that is just not a big deal in the grand scheme of things.

I finally got to use these adorable little die-cut sailboats from Impression Obsession. The seashells are from them as well, but I have used them before.  I can not take credit for this layout as I got the idea here. Her card is amazing!  So I am also going to enter this card in over at NBUS too with Darnell.

I hope you have a very creative weekend and you will consider joining us over at Just Us Girls. You may even be picked as our Chic of the Week.  Nanc’

Umbrellas

Hello,  Happy Friday!  Today’s post is for two challenges.  You probably guessed that the above card is for the Twofer Challenge going on this month. I paired one of the cards with the color challenge that is nearly coming to an end at The Paper Players.  I decided on cream as my 3rd color. It’s hard to see the dimension I have on the bottom card, but the clouds and umbrella are raised with pop dots. The cards were made using some very old no-name stamps that I have had for eons, but are a staple in my collection. Don’t pay any attention to the uncentered yellow piece on the bottom card.  I can’t believe I did that. The yellow paper has a texture almost like felt, and there was no moving it once it was down.  The cloud card was colored with a mix of Copics and colored pencils. Believe it or not, I added the clouds after I colored them.  I had originally planned on paper piecing those as well. Hi there- sentiment is from MFT and Just a note-is from Close to My Heart.

Take care and stay well, Nanc’

Seize the Heroes

Hello, Today the Design Team and I decided it was time to put the Birthday cards aside for a bit over at Seize the Birthday and focus on making some cards for our HEROES during this World Wide Pandemic.  Now, a lot of us focused on Doctors and Nurses, but there are many different people stepping it up and continuing to provide us all with what we need to get through this.

For instance, you could make a card for; Caregivers, Grocery Workers, Delivery Workers, Custodians, Pharmacists, and even Teachers.  I added teachers as I have seen first hand how hard it has been on them to very quickly change to an online platform.  I am in no way comparing what they do to doctors and nurses but wanted to give you all as many avenues as possible.

Also, MFT has made the Birdie Brown Doctors and Nurses set available in digital till the end of April if you want to go that route and I have linked it up for you HERE!

Our challenge will run like our other challenges and we will have a Winner’s post on April 30th!

Can’t wait to see what you create and who or whom you decide to THANK!  Nanc’

I created some others too.

Bleaching a Sympathy Card

Hello, I hope this post finds you having a good day (all things considered) and maybe having a little crafting time too. I am linking this card up over at CAS Mix Challenge where the technique is Bleaching.  I love this technique every time I use it.  I have an aqua painter that I saved specifically for this technique. The stamp set I used for this card is from Stampin Up.  The butterfly is from Pretty Pink Posh and the sentiment is Verve.  First I masked the panel off and sponged it with Oxide inks.  Next, I stamped the image with Versamark and then painted it in.  It was super quick and fun to do.

Thanks for popping in and stay safe, Nanc’

I Sea it’s your Birthday…

Hello,  I have two fun cards for you today!  The process began when I decided I wanted to make a water scene and use my NBUS Seahorses from Lawn fawn. I am embarrassed to say that I have had them for nearly a year and had yet to crack the seal.  The stamp set gave me the idea to get out my Iridescent Texture Paste and the fun geometric stencil and make a fun water scene.  I also used my MFT wave stencil and my Prisma Colored pencils.  These cards were a lot of fun to create. I even added my own lines on the seahorses to give them some more personality.  I had a hard time photographing them as I am still having computer issues and as soon as I open up iphoto my computer shuts down. So, I used my phone instead.

I am playing along with 3 challenges today! I was tickled to see NBUS Challenge blog started by Darnell again….(Congrats girl!)

The layout is for CAS(E) this Sketch.

And over at CAS Stencil, they want us to use Gilding Flakes and hope my texture paste will suffice.
