Gotta Love Purple!

If you are a fan of Monochromatic cards and a Great sketch well then you have come to the right place today!   The card was designed for the color challenge over at the Dynamic Duos this week.  The two colors they chose were Wisteria Wonder and Concord Crush.  These colors are a starting point and a guideline and as long as your colors are close enough the ladies are fine with that!  This card also goes along with the sketch of the week over at Unscripted Sketches.  I hope it’s okay the I shifted the square over a little bit!!!  I am so glad I found this sketch blog!!!  The butterfly stamp is one of my favorites from Stamp TV and is called Take Flight, and the sentiment I have had forever and who knows where it came from! :0  The DP is from Creative Memories when I use to be a consultant.

The photo isn’t perfect, but when you look at the card from straight on, I have managed to line up the sentiments almost perfect!  I just guessed!  I was really lucky!  I like the look of this with the raised panel with pop dots and have been meaning to try it for some time now!

Hope you enjoyed it!  Have a great day or evening which ever the case,

Bravo,Kudos,Congrats…

Well since I had the day off from school due to a potential Hurricane I decided to use my time wisely and hang out in my studio for part of the day.  I managed to make 4 cards and 4 scrapbook pages and the night is still young! 🙂  This card is for 3 different challenges.  Seems to be a pattern I have been doing lately.  Love when I can incorporate more than one challenge.   Okay, so the first one is a sketch challenge over at Sweet Sunday, the second is for a color challenge over at The Play Date Cafe, and last but not certainly not least is a banner challenge over at Casual Fridays.  The sentiment is from the Dollar bin at Michaels.  The buttons were made with a new die I got from My Favorite Things.

Hope you have a great evening!

Thanks for stopping by,

Can’t get enough…

Can’t get enough of turquoise and sand so last night after dinner out with the hubby I thought I would make another card.  So along with the color challenge over at CR84FN, the Photo challenge over at Stamp TV, the make your won embellishments challenge over at The Pink Elephant….I decided I needed a sketch challenge to tie it all together and I chose Freshly Made #49.  I used more of my cricut for the flowers and swirls, that gorgeous DP that I have had for an eternity, some hemp and the center of my flowers were made with a MS punch.

Thanks for stopping by, I so love when you do!  Guess I better get back to some housework!

Happy Saturday

Well,  I survived the first week of school and it looks like we might have a 3 day weekend upon us thanks to hurricane or soon to be hurricane Issac.  If that’s the case more stamping time for me!  Not that I am wishing a storm on us or anyone for that matter.  My son is in Tallahassee so I hope Isaac decides to veer west!  We shall see by tomorrow morning they said.  Well, I know you didn’t come by to listen to me talk about the weather!  Onto the card I made today!  This card got it’s life from 3 different challenges.  Stamp TV photo challenge, CR84FN color challenge, and The Pink Elephants make your own embellishments challenge.  I have had this piece of DP for at least 5 years probably longer and finally got to take some scissors to it!  The flowers, tag, and swirls were made with my Cricut and I used the Picturesque cartridge  The sentiment is from Stamp TV’s Timeless treasures,  It’s one of my favorites and so versatile!  My scallop borders….one is MS and the larger one is new to me and is from My Favorite Things. Finished it off with some Hemp and there you have it!

So if you have never visited any of the challenge sites I mentioned your missing out!  I have links there to help you out….so go have a look!

Hope you enjoy your weekend and stay safe!

The Happiest of Birthdays

Well I survived the first day of school with the kidos!  Although, I must say I am a little sore because I feel like I walked about 5 miles, but I am still in one piece!  Those kids just warm my heart!   So, the card I have for you today is for 3 different challenges.  The first is for the color challenge over at The Play Date Cafe.   Those colors look amazing together and as soon as I saw them I knew I had just the paper for it!  The fabulous sketch is from ispy.  And the challenge over at the The Paper Players is to incorporate paper piecing…which I just love to do!  My photo came out a little more red…but the actual DP has more of the orange tones.  The clouds were drawn and cut out with scissors and embossed with my cuttlebug.  The balloon stamp is from the dollar bin at Michaels.  The sentiment is from Stampendous.

Thanks for stopping by…I just love when you do!  Have a great day!

Missing in action!

I am so sorry for the lack of posts!  As you may or may not have figured out, I went back to work this week and to say that I came home exhausted would be an understatement.  I never knew my thigh muscles could hurt so bad!  It’s time to get in shape!  Now, I need to figure out how to manage work, being creative, and my blog posting again!  The kids start back tomorrow…so wish me luck!  Now, onto the real reason you stopped by!  This card was based on the sketch challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches and the color scheme that was chosen for me is from Flourishes color challenge.  Yesterday I went over to Michael’s and picked up a new embossing folder called Juli’s Garden that now comes with a coordinating border.  Isn’t that cool!  So that’s the border you see on the side of my card!  Couldn’t stop there had to use my dots too!   The leaves and the swirls were made with my cricut.

Have a great start to the work week…and thanks for your patience since I was MIA!

Back to School

Yes I am afraid that it is almost time for this little lady to head back to school.  To say that I am excited about that…well not quite.  LOL  I have so enjoyed this summer; beach, family vacation and all of the stamping and scrapbooking I have managed to do.  I am so afraid work will interfere with my MOJO 🙂 . Oh well I have 5 more glorious days!

The card today doesn’t actually scream back to school because I am giving it to a girl I know that is not a fan of “school” and is going into High School and I wanted to wish her luck without the card screaming school.  Hope that makes sense.

The challenge over at the Paper Players is a Back to School Theme.

The paper stamp is from Verve…isn’t it cute!  All the other tags and such were made with my cricut or scraps that I have laying around.

Have a great hump day friends,

Sip and Savor

Sip and Savor a good cup of coffee…that’s exactly what I am doing as I put together this post.  I think this by far is one of the most unique sketch challenges that ispy has come up with and I loved it!   The stamp set is from Verve.   If you don’t have any Verve stamps or are not familiar with the company, I encourage you very strongly to check them out.  I am a huge fan!  Speaking of being a fan….I am also a very regular patron of the Dynamic Duos, so much so that I have entered 2 cards in this week’s color challenge, and I think I got this one in right under the bell.  Love orange and green together! The rest of my card really needs no explanation.

Hope you enjoy your day or your evening,

Hello Hello…

Hello Crafty peeps,  Hope you are having a good Monday.  Today I got to sneak away to my studio after going into school for a couple of hours and this is what I came up with.

The Dynamic Duos came up with this great color duo this week and the sketch comes from SFYTT over at iheart2stamp.

Used my cricut and cuttlebug to achieve all my textures and the DP I have no idea whose it is, I got it from a scrap pack at Stampfest.

The stamp is dollar bin at Michaels!

I think it came together rather well!  Just got done watching USA woman’s soccer WOW!  Impressive!

Have a great night!

Woo Hoo and SSSC164

 Scroll Down for the SSSC164

I wanted to take a minute and thank The Paper Players design team for picking one of my cards as a Cut Above!  I so do appreciate it!

It so makes it so worthwhile when someone else recognizes your work…no matter your age it still makes you feel good…doesn’t it?  Now here is the card I have for you this evening!  I based it on the Sketch Challenge over at the Sweetest Thing.Karen has a Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge that always attracts my interest!   If you have never seen her Blog you must go check it out!  Before I go I just had to comment that as I sit here on my butt writing an entry on my personal blog there is a man who has had both legs amputated and is making Olympic History.  I am in awe of him and wonder is this really all I can do?   Just makes you wonder!

Take care,
