Totally Cheering You On

Hello, It’s the 5th Saturday of the month (my 20th consecutive post) and time for… CASE a DT Member at Just Us Girls. I love this challenge because it gives us DT members a chance to create anything we want with no guidelines. I certainly wish this challenge was something we did every month. Hint, Hint Vicki! (insert wink face)

A few Card Details: EF-is from Sizzix but I don’t know the name of it, the dies and stamps are all retired and from SU, the sentiment is a prepackaged one from Pink Fresh Studio. I thought the gold hearts and bits of gold foliage tied everything together perfectly.

I hope you will come by Just Us Girls and join us this week there is a ton of inspiration over there that is for sure.

Take care and happy creating, Nanc’

Noel

Hello, I am back today and I know you are probably totally shocked. LOL. This week seems to be the week of goofs. Did you notice that this week my Nautical Santa was missing part of the trim on his coat? I didn’t of course, until it was too late. Now for today’s card, I have another mistake. Did you notice it? I will tell you what is wrong with it below!

This time I am playing along with the Double D Challenge for their Christmas in July. Also, believe it or not, I used Fired Brick Red Distress Ink for blending and it also came out a bit on the orange side but I do love it paired with the gold ink and glitter paste. All the details are below.

Card Details: The stencils are from the Layered Christmas Stencils Collection and they are so pretty when finished and so very easy to use if you use them correctly! I accidentally stenciled them upside down. Normally it would not matter unless you are trying to put the greeting stencil back in the blank opening that is clearly made for it. I didn’t see my mistake till I was adding the Noel. It looks fine and is completely acceptable but as you can see Noel is covering up some of the leaves. Live and learn as my mom would say!

If you place an order after clicking on one of the links below I will receive a very small commission, and also get to continue as an affiliate with Spellbinders at no cost to you. I certainly would appreciate your support!

Birthday Cocktails

Hello, Over at Seize the Birthday Glenda is our wonderful hostess and she has a very unique topping for us this time around. What she wants us to do is make a card inspired by a book. It can be a title, a theme, a plot, or even a book jacket. I do love to read, but will confess I don’t read as much as I used to as card making takes up so much of my time, so I had to think long and hard about this one. Now, remember you don’t have to use our topping to play along at STB, any Birthday card will do as well.

Last Christmas I bought a book for my son and daughter-in-law and it was called Blender Drinks as they like to entertain, so I decided to recreate a card using the front cover. I have been kinda stuck in a pink phase as of late so I decided to make the background a little different and just focus on the drink itself, plus I have recently fallen in love with an Orange and Teal color pairing.

Here is a picture of the book.

Card Details: I did the smooshing technique to make my frozen beverage of choice. Sentiment is MFT-Raise Your Glass, the glass and acces. are from Tim Holtz-Happy Hour, the scalloped rectangle is MFT, the straws were just cut from paper and striped with a Copic. The background is DSP. Instead of an apple, I felt an orange and cherry were more appropriate.

Now, I would love for you to head on over to Seize the Birthday and check out all the cards that my fabulous team came up with along with our guest, Izzy and then play along!

Happy creating, Nanc’

believe in the magic

Hello, I hope your week is going well for you! I am sure you were not surprised to see me back again today with another Christmas card featuring new to me Spellbinder products. This time I incorporated this darling Santa’s Here set with these fabulous Bottle Brush Trees which are both part of the Classic Christmas Collection. I certainly had fun putting Santa together, and let me say it was surprisingly easy. What I love about this set is, that in production they really thought about grouping the correct pieces together so that when you are die-cutting it’s super fast and efficient, I didn’t find myself having to cut out more of something in a different color.

A Few More Card Details:

I wanted to do something a bit different in my design so I decided on a nautical vibe. What do you think about Santa handing out glittery Starfish? This Florida girl kinda likes it. If you look closely I have clear nuvo drops and fine glitter on Santa’s eyebrows too. You can find the starfish in the Build a Birdhouse Spellbinder set. I sponged my beach mounds with a bit of brown ink onto kraft cardstock to give it a sand vibe. I didn’t leave a lot of room for a sentiment, luckily I found this tiny sentiment from Papertry Ink- Dec. Typed Words that was just the perfect size. The background and Santa’s sack are made from DSP that I have had forever. I added quite a bit of foam squares to Santa so he would stand out. The tiny stars come with the Bottle Brush Trees.

I would be amiss not to link up with my friend Darnell over at NBUS as it’s the first time I worked with Santa, and over at Peace on Earth Christmas Challenge.

Handmade for You

Hello, I am back today with more Christmas in July with another card using these pretty Bottle Brush Trees Duo from Spellbinder’s Classic Christmas Collection. I am enjoying all the ways you can make simple but elegant scenes with these trees, especially with glitter paper.

Card Details:

First, I made my trees using green and gold glitter paper. Next, I made two snow banks using my very old Creative Memories Wavy cutter and blades. I have it pictured below in case you wanted to see what it looked like. It still works like a charm and I am glad I have hung onto it for 25+ years. After my trees were put together I splattered them with white paint. I hot-foiled the sentiment in gold and the little snowflakes are in the Noel die set. A few gold stars and gold centers on my snowflakes to tie everything together and I was done. Everything is listed below! A simple card that I think has a great punch!

I am linking up with Christmas Craft Creations for their Anything Goes Christmas in July Challenge.

I am getting a good start on my Christmas cards, thanks to Spellbinders. Have you started yet? Every year I make a goal for myself to make 4 CC a month so that by November 30th I would have at least 44 completed, and I would have early December to finish them off. So far I have made 17 and should be at 28, so I am a bit behind schedule! Hopefully, I will catch up soon!

Take care, Nanc’

Christmas Time

Hello, I hope you are enjoying your day and if you have been dealing with excessive heat like we are, you are doing everything you can to stay cool. As you can see this heat has certainly given me a little more time to craft! Not all bad, it sure beats cleaning the house or doing laundry! LOL

Card Details:

As promised, I have another Christmas card today using some new Spellbinder’s products. This time I’m using these fabulous Bottle Brush Trees from the Classic Christmas Collection, paired with a Silver foiled background called Geometric Optical, also from Spellbinders. I just recently purchased the stencils ( thanks to my friend Karren Johnson who used them on a gorgeous card) that go with this fun foil plate and they are a game-changer for sure.

Believe me, I had no intention of making an Orange and Green Christmas card, and believe it or not when I stenciled the background I used Candy Apple Oxide Ink and it came out on the orangey side. I think it’s because I used paper with a glossy finish. So I thought, don’t knock it just embrace it! The green color is one of my favs and is called Evergreen Bough. I inked up some white paper using the same green Oxide ink for my trees. Before I cut out the shadow of my Christmas Time sentiment and looked for a paper to back my Geometric background, I thought I would go all in on the orange and make it match. The white paper was cut out using an older set of Spellbinder’s Deckled Edge Rectangles.

I do think the card looks even better in person. I have all the products I used on the card linked for you below.

If you place an order after clicking on one of the links below I will receive a very small commission, and also get to continue as an affiliate with Spellbinders at no cost to you. I certainly would appreciate your support!

Sending Sunshine and Smiles

Hello friends! It had been a while since I did some coloring so I thought I would change it up a little today with an MFT critter beach scene. I do love to color and am pretty happy with the way it turned out.

Card Details: MFT-Best Beach Friends, MFT Stencil-Pastures, Ponds and Pools, Miss Ink Stamps Stencil-Floral wave, Oxide Inks, Copcis and Prisma Colored Pencils.

I am linking up with the Stencil Fun Challenge the theme is Birthday but it is optional as long as you use a stencil.

I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day, and I will be back tomorrow with a Christmas card from Spellbinders where the colors didn’t turn out quite like I thought they would.

By the way, I am on Day 14 of consecutive posts! We will see how long I can keep this going. Take care, Nanc’

Noel

Hello, Hello! I am happy to be back today with a card using some great new products that I just got yesterday from Spellbinders. The stencils are from the Layered Christmas Stencils Collection and they are so pretty when finished and so very easy to use. They are certainly going to make the mad rush for Christmas cards that I seem to go through in early December so much easier. There are three different sets in this collection. They have Joy in the shape of a Christmas tree and one that says Merry Christmas that’s similar to this one.

Card Details:

I stenciled three of the flowers and fussy cut them out so I could give this card some depth and also decided to make a matching envelope this time.

The colors I used for my stenciling are so pretty together, don’t you think? I used Oxide Inks-Peacock Feathers and Gina K.’s- Light and Medium Orchid. Then I came back with some gold Glitter Paste to add some sparkle! I also used foam tape underneath my sentiment and three flowers.

*My only annoyance on this card is, I came back with a white gel pen to give the sentiment some highlights and the ink turned my highlights a little pink. Does anyone have a white pen that they absolutely love and that works all the time? Please let me know!

If you place an order after clicking on one of the links below I will receive a very small commission, and also get to continue as an affiliate with Spellbinders at no cost to you. I certainly would appreciate your support!

Sending You…

Hello, It’s time for Clean and Simple Week over at Just Us Girls and the challenge Ina has for us is super easy and was quite fun to do. She wants us to use 3 of something on our cards. The sky is the limit on this one, just remember to keep it CAS.

Card Details: First I made myself a quick square stencil so I could make 3 backgrounds using various shades of Oxide Ink. The hardest part was spacing them evenly and keeping them straight. The strawberries, stems and blossoms are from Spellbinders. I did a bit of shading on the strawberries using some red Oxide Ink. The sentiment is from Hero Arts-Act of Kindness. This card is not my design and was inspired by this one Here!

I hope you will take the time to come check out all the cards by the JUGS Design Team and our guest-Kristin and play along. Thanks for being with us this month, Kristin it’s been a pleasure having you!

Take care, Nanc’

Love from Florida

Hello, I had a little time today after returning from our morning beach walk and decided to play along with the Inspirational Challenge and Tic Tac Toe Challenge. It is a very quick and easy one-layer card.

Over at Inkspirational, they have a travel theme and for Tic Tac Toe, I chose the last column; CAS, Sentiment, and Stencil.

Card Details: The stencil is from Honey Bee Stamps. The Florida stamp (not available anymore) and greeting are from Pink and Main. I used Oxide inks to do my background.

So today is day 12 of consecutive posts, and I so appreciate you stopping by! Take care and happy crafting, Nanc’
