Hello Friends, Isn’ this a perfect photo that Maria picked out for this time of year? Whether you want to go with the Halloween theme, fall leaves, or the sunflowers like I did….I am sure you could whip up something and join us at Just Us Girls this week. The team did a great job with this photo too! I had to try my hand at coloring again and this time decided to use my Prisma colored pencils. Well that aren’t really mine…they belong to the resident artist in the house. LOL I chose the Sunflowers in the photo for 2 reasons and you will see why if you read on! I love this sunflower stamp that I got at a garage sale years ago. I stamped my sentiment crooked…of course I did…when I was totally happy with the flowers….. so I had to cover it up with the oval scallop. Please tell me that happens to you too! It does me ALL the time! Grrrrrr! The sentiment is from Verve…the Take Note Set. One of the Best sets I have ever purchased!
I am also linking this card up over at The Card Concept where their Inspiration photo is also Sunflowers! Love this photo!!! My Style for this card would be Clean and Simple! Love this Challenge site!
This card is going to be sent to my sister as she adores Sunflowers!
Alrighty then, That pretty much covers it for this post! Please come by JUGS and join us! If your chosen as our Chic of the Week your in the running as a possible Guest designer with us in the month of December! While your there, give our Guest Designer Wanda some love….she did an exceptional job this month! Thanks Wanda!
Hope to see you there! Nanc’
Hello Friends, Boy do we have a fun and easy ” Topping” for you this time over at Seize the Birthday! The topping for this challenge is to use Washi Tape on your card and or project! Don’t you wish you were the brains behind this amazing product? Okay, let me show you how I incorporated my Washi tape into my card. The first thing I did was adhere my tape onto some coordinating card stock. Then I got out my super cool candle die cuts from Elizabeth Craft Designs and I cut them out in interesting ways. I wanted to make the candles very hip, different, and eye catching. So as you can see by the photos that is what I did, by placing the dies in different spots on the tape. The sentiment Happy on my card is from Verve and the word Birthday is from Close to My Heart. The paper is a mixture of old Creative Memories dp and Stampin Up.
I also am linking this card up with the sketch over at The Challenge blog. You can do the sketch and or the color challenge…the choice is yours. I chose just to do the sketch this time around.
That wraps it up for me for today…please come on over to Seize the Birthday and join us! You should see what my talented teammates did with their washi tape!
Hope to see you there!

The idea for this card came to me last night as I was trying to get to sleep, I should have gotten up and headed to the studio and got to work, as I didn’t sleep well anyways. I also knew I was going to pair up these TWO great challenges for this piece….Pink Power Diva Dare over at Verve and the Tag You’re it Challenge #8.
My mom was a Breast Cancer survivor for many years, so I try to make at least one card a year to commemorate her. Unfortunately later on in life she got Ovarian cancer and wasn’t as lucky to beat that battle. Love and miss you mom!
This afternoon when I was ready to get started I found another piece of my all time favorite DP and knew it would work perfectly! SCORE!!! Now I knew I wouldn’t fail! Onto some details: For this card I used my new favorite border die cut from Verve as well…love those hearts! It comes in a pack of 3 and it’s a must have…I linked it up for you. Next, the hearts and sentiment are also from Verve and come in the With Love Set. I used versa mark and stamped them on the background. The word HOPE is a die cut and is from Paper Smooches. I cut it out twice for a drop shadow. The striped paper is actually made with a piece of Washi tape. The sequins are also from Verve and the small hearts are from the inside of the die cut. The basic tag was made with the SU punch and lots of paper piecing, which is what I love to do!
I so appreciate you stopping in and your words of encouragement! Hope you have a wonderful day and I have inspired you a little bit!

Hello Friends, I adore this week’s colors that Lisa picked out for us at Just Us Girls and thought that is was high time I break out those Spectrum Noir pens and try some coloring again. This is not something I feel I am any good at, so it takes me some nerve to give another try each time. This stamp is something I picked up while I was in Lakeland visiting my sister a while back, they have the most incredible local scrapbooking store there. Isn’t that stamp butimus? As my mom would sometimes say. Miss her ever single day! The sentiment is from Verve. One of the flowers is doubled and popped up with pop dots. Hope you come check out what my teammates did this week and play along. Remember if your chosen as Chic of the Week, you will be in the running for a possible chance to be a Guest Designer with us. You should see what Wanda our guest Designer did this week…it’s beautiful!
See you over at JUGS!

I nearly ran out of time to join in the Color Challenge over at The Card Concept, luckily today I had some time to be creative as the linky ends tomorrow! That was close! I love Halloween colors, but I opted to think outside the box and create a birthday card instead. I would think this card qualifies for Clean and Layered!
I was also inspired by this card by Erin @ Erin taylor Designs. Isn’t it GORGEOUS? I have been eyeing this card for months now and finally did something about it! I also tried my hand at sketching with a black pen around my stamped images and I say for the first time I did okay! The flowers and leaves are from SU-Stippled Blossoms and the butterflies are from the SU- Papillon Potpourri. The sentiment is something I picked up at Michaels eons ago. I put a piece of Washi tape on the backside of my vellum so that the word celebrate would be more visible. Heat embossed my sentiment and added some black hemp and some SU dots.
Hope you have a wonderful day and I appreciate you stopping by. Nanc’
The Ombre technique is what Sue T. has in store for us and hopefully you this week over at Just Us Girls. Speaking of Sue…this is her last post at being a fellow Jug Head and we are sad to see her go, but understand that her schooling and career is all sure currently has time for these days and wish her the Best of Luck! HUGS to you Sue! Now back to the ombre technique. I have seen this technique interpreted many different ways using all sorts of art mediums…ie, chalk, watercoloring, paper and etc. I stuck with the paper version which is a lot like the JUGS graphic this week. As you can see my background is a cascade of pinks going from lights to darks. I didn’t like the transition lines in between the papers from one piece to the next so that is when I decided to put in the white, victorian scalloped dividers.
The stamps are a mixture of Gina K Designs and Verve. The flowers are made from 3 different punches. The centers of the flowers are either Stampin up dots or paper.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend and come on over to JUGS and play in our challenge. While your there say farewell to Sue and check out the work of our Guest Designer Wanda. Her card is incredible!!! Remember If you are selected as Chic of the Week you will be in the running as a possible Guest Designer with us in the month of December.
See you at JUGS!

Card Details: Stamps: Stampin Up- Stippled Blossoms and Papillion Potpourri and the sentiment is from Hero Arts. Card stock and or accessories are a little of this and that!
The moment I saw this card on the Tag You’re It blog I was intrigued! I absolutely loved it! I am so glad I had a chance to play along this weekend. After all yesterday was World Card Making Day and I had to do my part. We had another baby born in our extended Michigan family and I wanted to make a special card for her. Her name is Olivia Grace…isn’t that beautiful! A lot of love and patients went into it…let me give you some of the details. The first thing I did was embossed the white stars with embossing paste and my SU star stencil and let it dry. Not sure if you can tell, but the yellow paper has a really cool texture. I got it on sale for like .79 for 50 sheets. It feels like hand made paper. Then I went to work on my tags. The cool sentiment is from Verve and I had been wanting to get it inky for the first time and finally did! I added both scalloped trims and some larger stars at the bottom of my SU punch tags to add some interest. The DP is from the same paper pack as my last post by DCVW Nanna’s Nursery. The tiny stars are from the inside of my new die cut from Verve, that I LOVE, and have linked up for you! I was very meticulous where those tiny… tiny stars were placed. Once the card was all completely finished, I got the bright idea to add shimmer to the white stars. It was tricky, but so worth it! Not sure you can see it in the photo. So here is a close up! The cool ribbon is also from Verve! Added the button and all was complete!
I hope you have a wonderful week and find sometime to be creative! Also, I so appreciate all the kind comments, you all make my day a little brighter! HUGS!
We have a lot of things going on over at Just Us Girls this week. First things first…..It’s World Card Making Day, so everyone get out there today and be creative! We also have two new designers joining us today over at Just Us Girls and I would like to formally welcome them again! Welcome Chris and Ina. Be sure to stop by their blogs and leave them some love, won’t you! Last, but not least our Guest Designer for the month of October is Wanda Cullen. Welcome, Wanda! You can also stop by over at Wanda’s blog and tell her Congrats too! The girls and I over at JUGS are glad your ALL with us today! What a need to Celebrate! Which is a great segway into our challenge this week…..
It’s Word Week over JUGS and Sharyn has selected the word CELEBRATE…which leaves things wide open. Great choice Sharyn! I needed a Congrats on the new baby card for a co-worker and thought that is definitely a cause to Celebrate so that worked out perfectly for me! Love when that happens! I have been wanting to make these cute little outfits using my Stampin UP Owl Punch and finally did! Love how this card came out!. The trickiest part was making the little straps and buttons. My ribbon came out kinda flat on the one side of my clothes line, but what you gonna’ do! The DP is from DCVW Nanna’s Nursery pack. It’s got some adorable papers in it! The sentiment is from Gina K Designs. I have some pop dots under the outfits and sentiment to give some dimension.
I am also linking my card up over at the Pink Elephant another one of my favorite challenge blogs where it’s an Anything Goes Week!
Well, That about wraps things up….and I hope you find sometime today to be creative and join us over at JUGS…after all you have permission, it’s World Card Making Day and time to CELEBRATE!! Take care, Nanc’
