Wishing You Peace…Anything Goes

DSC_0346Hi Folks,  Hope all of my US friends enjoyed your Thanksgiving!  Mine was wonderful (as I was hostess) and I am thrilled to say the least! It’s a shame we all don’t get together more often.  I will post some photos sometime soon and share with you my table settings that turned out fantastic, thanks to my hubby, son and Pinterest!

Anyways,  If you feel like you have seen this card before, you have…..sort of! It’s the same layout, but different colors and an added embossed panel.  I plan on making this one of my signature cards for this Christmas Season.  I never make the same card twice, I have to change the color at the very least, so they will all be unique in some way or another.  My hubby says that that is a problem I need to address.  What does he know about card making?…….LOL

Screen Shot 2014-10-11 at 9.47.48 AMIt’s Wildcard Week “Anything Goes” at Just Us Girls this week…. so make sure you come on over and play along!  The sky is the limit and while your there check out the rest of the DT’s creations along with our fabulous GD Tajanna!  This is her last post with us and we are sad to see her go…she has been amazing!

Remember if your picked as our Chic of The Week you could also be in the running as a GD with us in the future too.

Card Details:   My paper is all Stampin UP, the sentiment is from Verve in the With Love set.  The ornament die is something I am fortunate enough to have at my school. The embossed panel is something I used one day when I was at my friends house and I am not for certain whose it is.

See you over at JUGS!   Nanc’

Snowman Tag…

TCC #2

The ” Style” I am going for is a Shabby-Vintage type of feel for this tag.

Same as last time….oops!  That was completely accidental. LOL

The Card Concept is also pairing up with:

Tracey McNeely and her 25 days of Christmas Tags!

Tracey's Tag Badge

Tracey is as sweet as she is talented!!

For this challenge The Card Concept is looking for:

1.) A TAG or a CARD with a tag on it
2.) Snowmen, snow or any other “wintery” theme!

Now for my Tag Details:  The cute stamp set is from Gina K Designs and is called Snow One Like You.  The paper pack is from My Mind’s Eye. I paper pieced his hat and scarf and

took colored pencils to the snow and to the snowman to help with the aged look.  The light colored paper is a faint graph paper which I thought looked neat and is also under the sentiment and bordering the top too. I love using my Fiskars victorian border to edge my work…it seems to be a signature of mine.  Punches, candy dots and twine about wraps it up.

I had a great time making this tag and it was a great way to spend a rainy afternoon and one of my days of from school!

If you have never played along with The Card Concept here are some of the details!  I love the creative idea behind this blog!

Choose one of the design team “Styles” to create your card. Click HERE for the different styles summary. Explain in your post which style you used. Link up your blog post.  Last but not least, comment on the card ahead of you and behind you in the linky. It’s really that simple!

Now, Please come on over and join us at The Card Concept…I would love it if you would!  You should see what the DT did this week!  While your at it go check out Tracey’s site too!  You’ll be glad you did…There are prizes involved!!
Thanks for stopping by and Happy Thanksgiving, I am hosting this year!  Nanc’

Have a Holly Jolly…..

JUGS

Screen Shot 2014-10-15 at 6.56.05 PM  Hello Friends,  It’s Saturday and time for our new challenge over at Just Us Girls.  It’s photo week and Cheryl has made a perfect selection for this time of year.  It was so easy to get inspired with this photo.  I knew right away I wanted to make something using my newest wreath stamp, and then it just kinda took off from there!  After I stamped my wreath stamp I thought it might be fun to make it a little wider and that is where the idea came to use my spellbinders.  The bow die is something we have at my school and I LOVE it! I thought the doily would be a nice background too, plus it pulls out the white wreath in the photo.  Added some holly dots, my sentiment from Verve (Holly Jolly Christmas) and some distressing and I was done.

Now,  Head on over to Just Us Girls and join us this week.  While your there check out the talented Guest Designer Tajanna, If you happen to be chosen as our Chic of the Week you will be in the running as a possible Guest Designer for the month of January. GOOD LUCK!

See you at JUGS~

Leaves and Vellum

DSC_0260

DSC_0261          It’s time for the next challenge over at Seize the Birthday!  This time our topping is Leaves.  As soon as I saw the November challenge over at The Verve blog was to use Vellum, I decided this would make a perfect pairing!  I was right…. it came together just as I had envisioned or maybe even better!  Don’t you just love when you are happy with what you have created?  It doesn’t happen as often as I would like, but it happens generally when I start doubting myself and my work!  🙂  Anyhoo,  Let me tell you a little about my card!  The stamps are all from Verve!  Have I said lately how much I love VERVE?  Well, I do! The flower is my very first stamp I ever got from them. It’s called Elegant Flower- Plain Jane.  The sentiments are from the Poppy Birthday set.  I thought the sentiments look great on those banner dies.  The vellum leaves are a sizzix die that I have had for so long, but had never used before because they didn’t work in my Cuttlebug.  I finally broke down and bought myself a Big Shot…and I am very happy I did.  It’s about time I get up a little more with the times. I then ran them through my Lattice embossing folder. I heat embossed the flowers with some Blushing Pink Pastel powder and fussy cut them.  I just love the way they came out.  Some pop dots and some bling and I was finished.

I couldn’t decide on which photo to use so I used both!  Still working with that camera!  I think some days I am improving…what do you think?

Now you have two places to stop by: Seize the Birthday where we are always celebrating Birthdays and our Topping option is Leaves and or The Verve Blog where they are asking us to use some Vellum on our project.

Praying For You…

Screen Shot 2014-10-11 at 9.39.52 AM

Hello friends,  It’s Saturday and it’s time for our new challenge at Just Us Girls!  Sharyn is hosting our Color Week and she has some really great bold colors for us. Turquoise, Red and Gold, and remember you can always add some neutrals too. I was a little pushed for time this week so I had to do something clean and simple.  I just adore this die cut from MFT and not sure if you can tell, but the the red flower is the negative of the gold card stock. I just mounted the red on the inside front of the card and saved the gold flower to use on something else later. The sentiment is from Verve in the So Happy stamp set. I am not sure it’s available anymore as I couldn’t locate it on their site.  The turquoise crochet lace is something I picked up at Michaels and I stumbled upon it after I had already adhered the paper strips to the card and thought…why not add it as well.

I so appreciate you stopping in today and Remember…..If your chosen as our Chic of the Week over at Just Us Girls you will become eligible to possibly be one of our Guest Designers in the month of January!   Good luck and hope to see you over there!  Nanc’

Guest Designer @ The Card Concept!

TCC

My Style this time around is definitely Shabby Vintage!  At least that is what I was going for! LOL

TCCI am tickled to be Guest Designing with The Card Concept this month and next month as well!  When Lesley Croghan messaged me, there was no hesitation in my response…that is for sure!!  Thanks Lesley for asking me!!  I am thrilled to say the least!  The challenge for the next two weeks is a Krafty Christmas as you can see by that great graphic!

Card Details: When I saw this challenge I decided to try and make my Kraft card look a little aged and rugged.   Hope I succeeded!  I ran the back piece of card stock through my SU horizontal lines embossing folder twice, both vertical and horizontal to try and achieve a checkerboard pattern. I also distressed the heck out of the entire card with the SU distressing tool. The stocking is something I hand drew last year and made a stencil for.  My favorite part of this card is the bow!  Which is also embossed with the lattice embossing folder and I actually crumbled it up a few times.  The snowflakes were heat embossed with silver embossing powder.  Both the sentiment and the snowflake stamps are from Gina K Designs. Finished it off with a button and some hemp.

Please come on over and join us at The Card Concept…I would love it if you would!  You should see what the DT did this week!  Very beautiful work!  Thanks for stopping by,  Nanc’

Chalkboard Technique…

DSC_0232Screen Shot 2014-10-11 at 9.30.23 AMIt’s time for a Just Us Girls Challenge and Chris one of our newest members is hosting and she has selected a Chalkboard technique for us.  I was thrilled to see her selection!  I have been wanting to try my hand at it.  I went very simple this week as it has been Cray Cray as the kids always say, and it’s all I had time for.  I am happy with the results, so that is a plus! The sentiment is from Stampin Up and the ribbon is so cool and something I picked up who knows where.  I think JoAnn Fabrics.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend and come on over to JUGS and play in our challenge.  While your there check out what the other design team members have done…plus our Guest Designer Tajanna.  She is very talented too!  Remember If you are selected as Chic of the Week you will be in the running as a possible Guest Designer with us in the month of January!

See you over there,

Nanc’

Seeing Orange…

STB7162c-1175095_10151587494757547_730720239_n
Hello Friends,  It’s Challenge time at STB and this week our Topping option is to use Monochromatic Orange on your card and or project.  This is my second attempt as my first one was not blog worthy! YUCK!  LOL I also want to give a quick shout out to Susie one of my fellow designers, this is her last challenge with us and I wish her all the luck in the world!  She is super talented and oh so sweet and will be missed!  She is going to be picking our winners this time over at STB so please come on over and play along and let’s make is super hard on her to pick our winners and fill Mr. Linky to the brim!

Now a few details on my card!  The Stamp set is Stippled Blossom.  The ink is also Stampin Up’s Tangerine Tango.  I had the cardstock with the circle cut out laying on my desk and that is what prompted this idea!  I thought, why not make that gorgeous flower the focal point.  You can’t tell in this photo, but the scalloped circle is raised with pop dots!  Super fun design…don’t you think?  The sentiment is from Verve’s Take Note.

Hope you have a wonderful day and please come on over to Seize the Birthday and see what my teammates did with this challenge and play along!

Take care,  Nanc’

You are not seeing double…..

DSC_0237

The embossing looks half done which in fact isn’t true if you look at the bottom photo.DSC_0236

CTS_98MIUMlogoYou are not seeing double and do not adjust your computer these cards appear to be different, when in fact they are the same card. I was messing around with my new camera today and had a devil of a time getting the true color of the card stock on my photo.   The one that appears to be more raspberry is in fact the closest I could get to the real deal.  Please tell me you have these problems with certain color tones?  The cardstock is SU’s Raspberry Ripple. Over at Stamp TV they have a challenge just about ending where you were asked to use two colors.  My colors were silver and raspberry. Hopefully the gray card stock since it comes from silver will not disqualify me.  I also paired this challenge up with this awesome sketch from CASE this Sketch.  I really loved it and will definitely be using it again.  I had a ball making this card, but not quite as much fun photographing it……LOL  All stamps are from Gina K Designs and I believe it’s obvious but I used silver embossing powder as well.

Thanks for checking up with me today….I really appreciate it more then you realize!

Find sometime to be creative….we all need more of that!  Take care,  Nanc’

LOVE it!  The sentiment which is also heat embossed is from an Inkadinkado Christmas set. Th large snowflake is from Martha Stewart.  Before I go I want to welcome our latest Guest Designer Tajanna to the team, she will be with us for this entire month!  Welcome Tajanna…your card is amazing this week!  Now head on over to Just Us Girls and see how the word wreath inspired my awesome teammates as well!
