A Treat for You

Hello, Today I am playing along with the Color Throwdown using a few shades of purple, blue, and white and some more new dies and stamps from MFT. I have been on a spending splurge as of late and I hope it stops soon. Although, Stamptember is right around the corner so that is a bit worrisome or exciting…depending on how you look at it. LOL I bought these Pair of Popsicle dies when MFT was generous enough to give us that email with the $25.00 enclosed. I couldn’t let free money go to waste, now could I? Check out the gorgeous photo from the Color Throwdown below.

Card Details: I used Oxide Inks for my popsicle itself and strips of paper for my background. I used vellum to soften it a bit. Pair of Popsicle dienamics, MFT-Every Flavor Of Happy stamp set, tags are from Pink and Main

Take care, Nanc’

Have a Relaxing Day

Hello and Happy Monday! I am back today with a card for the MFT-Sketch Challenge. As soon as I saw the sketch and realized it looked like waves, I knew I had to play along. Plus it also gave me another excuse to play with my new MFT Kit and accessories a bit longer. As I was thinking about what I wanted to do with this sketch, I decided to do something a bit unexpected, and thought why not a cream palm tree? Plus I stumbled upon a piece of this fun sand dollar paper and thought it might be fun to use as part of my waves.

Card Details: MFT- Sand and Surf Dies, Shady Palm Dies, Sand Castle Builder Dies, Itty Bitty Summer Sentiment.

I am going to link this card up over at Happy Little Stampers-Die Cut Challenge as well!

I am not quite ready to put this set away so stay tuned for more summer vibe cards!

I hope you get to do something today that brings you JOY! Take care, Nanc’

Crafty Friends

Hello, I am back today with a card for the Tic Tac Toe Challenge. I just loved Stef and her board and wanted to be sure to play along. I used the diagonal row of Coloring, Friend, and Patterned Paper.

I will also be joining in over at Happy Little Stampers for their Anything Goes with Stencil Challenge.

Card Details: We have a bit of coloring, paper piecing, and stenciling with Oxide ink followed by iridescent textured paste on today’s card. The sentiment and envelopes are from Altenew. The bunnies are from MFT. The heart stencil is from SU.

I hope you enjoy your day, however you choose to spend it. I never take for granted that you choose to spend a few minutes of it here with me. Take care, Nanc’

Happy Summer

This is my second post of the day so if you are looking for Just Us Girls, please scroll down!

For this card, I incorporated the colors from My Favorite Things Color Challenge with the great sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches. As you can see I am still smitten with my new stash from MFT.

Here is another card I made that is just a tiny bit different. I am loving the way the backgrounds turned out and they were so quick to do!

Card Details: Shady Palm dies-MFT, Postage die-Hero Arts, the sentiments are both from MFT-Life’s a Beach and Itty Bitty Summer, I made the scene using some straight edge acetate, torn paper, and some Oxide inks. I splattered the palm leaves with white paint and green ink. The tiny sun on the first card is so old but it’s actually from MFT as well.

Thanks for stopping in and I hope you have a wonderful weekend! Take care, Nanc’

Hope Your Day is as Relaxing…

Hello, I am back again today with another card using the latest Card Kit called Beach Day from my favorite things. Unfortunately, the kit is sold out now but I think some of the individual pieces are still available. Today’s card was totally inspired by The Card Concept– By the Sea, as you see below. I used all the colors and the beach theme as well in my design.

Card Details: The background of the card is done directly on the card base with various inks along with straight edges and ripped copy paper. The Beach Bungalow is in the MFT-Beach Day Kit along with the greeting. The birds are also in the kit but part of the Shady Palms Die grouping. I totally got carried away with my water splatters and they got super large, but luckily covered up most with my sentiment.

I hope you have a wonderful day and get a chance to get creative and or do something that brings you joy! Take care, Nanc’

Summer Birthday

Hello, I am back today with a fun card for the latest Topping over at Seize the Birthday! Barb is our wonderful hostess and she has chosen Summer Activities for us this time around. I love this idea since we are smack dab in the middle of Summer here in Florida, and boy oh boy is it HOT! I had so much fun putting this card together and was pleased as punch with how it turned out!

Here is a close-up view.

Card Details: Sunny Studios-Flip Flops and Seals, Pool stencil is MFT, the Happy Birthday dies are MFT, the sun is from Ellen Hutson, I used Copics, Prismas, and Oxide Inks. I ripped some copy paper to make the edge of the water. I often find myself layering dies a lot now as I love the sturdy feel and think it makes the quality of the work so much better. I love gradient sentiments too.

Before I go I want to take a moment and thank Lorraine for being such a wonderful Surprise Party Guest these past two months! It has been wonderful having you on board with us and we have enjoyed your cards so very much! Take care!

I am going to join Time Out one more time for their Tropical Challenge.

I am also going to play along over at Make My Monday where the challenge is Coloring.

Now, pop on over to Seize the Birthday and check out Lorraine’s card and the rest of my fabulous team’s work showcasing things to do with summer!

Take care and I hope you will join us at STB, Nanc’

Life’s a beach

Yes, I did it again! This Florida girl had to have this new Beach Day MFT kit! I actually got it this afternoon and saw it on my front step when I was returning home from a difficult visit with my dad. It wasn’t him that made it hard, it’s trying to get the staff to take proper care of him that is the challenge. I come home each and every time a different person, as my hubby likes to remind me. It totally wipes me out and is depressing as can be. So I told hubby I was going to stow away for a couple hours and try to console myself with paper.

You know how much I love the recent MFT Couch Kit, as it was evident in the number of cards I posted. As of right now, I like this kit just as much. Well done MFT!

This card evolved many times, and I went back and forth with having the waves in the back or front of the card. Luckily for me, I realized before it was too late, that the brown paper that I was using as my base had script on it. (I told you I was a little distracted) So there was no flipping the waves that were already glued down and the water had to stay in the background of my design. I do love that the first wave at the very top of the card has a fun edge. That entire panel was decorated and then adhered to the card base.

I am playing along over at Double D Challenges where their challenge is Beach Time. My heart goes out to the Design Team as they just lost a wonderful team member and someone I knew as well. Hugs to each of you ladies! I will also be playing at Happy Little Stampers for their Anything Goes with Dies challenge.

Card Details: Mft Beach Day card Kit and the added accessories of Sand Castle Builder and Sand and Surf dies. I used Fun Foam and dimensionals as well.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you did something today that brought you JOY! Nanc’

CAS-Hello

I have a very quick card for you today that is for the CAS One Layer Challenge going on over at The Paper Players. One-layer cards aren’t easy for me as I always feel like they are missing something. You all know that I love my Oxide Inks but sometimes the black ink doesn’t get as crisp as I would like it to. I should have restamped this, but ended up taking it off my Misti too soon.

Card Details: Made myself a stencil for my sunset and used Oxide Inks for blending. The palm tree stamp is from Impression Obsession and the Hello is from Verve.

I hope whatever you do today you have a chance to get inky! Nanc’

Aloha

Aloha, Happy Monday! The blog has been a tad on the quiet side as of late as I had eye surgery last week called, Laser Iridotomy. What it that…you ask? Angle closure Glaucoma is when the iris blocks fluid from leaving the front of the eye as it should. Pressure in the eye rises and the Optic nerve could be damaged and if left untreated it can be very dangerous and cause blindness. Mine was a rather rush job. They only did one eye for now and I will have to have the other one done at a later date, as it’s not as bad and is not quite ready. Unfortunatley this may NOT be a one and done type of thing as the hole could close back up. Let’s hope it lasts for a while. The procdure itself wasn’t bad, but the rest of the day and evening it was a bit uncomfortable as you would expect. The next day was so much better!

Okay onto the real reason you came by…Tropical is the challenge over at Time Out and of course I knew I had to play along. Hubby and I and the fam had talked about going to Hawaii this summer and unfortunately with the price of airfare and such we decided not to go. I hate that one of my characteristics is being practical. So I decided to dream about it in paper form. Maybe we will try and go sometime this fall if the price of things starts to recede again, we shall see.

I am going to add another last minute entry over at Addicted to Stamps and More for their Make Your Mark Challenge as well.

Card Details: Polynesian Paradise stamps-MFT. Stitched Hill dies-Lawn Fawn, Plam Tree is also MFT. I used Copics with a touch of Prismas to color. I used Oxide inks for my blue background. As I still am not very good with Copics I tried to used a white pen to give some highlights in her hair and hula skirt. Not an idea that I will repeat. LOL All in all still a fun card! That turtle just makes me smile.

I hope you get to do something today that makes you smile and brings you JOY, Nanc’
