You’re on my mind…

Hello Stampin Friends…Today’s card is for a very dear friend of ours that is battling cancer with many and I mean many complications.  He has been in and out of the hospital more times than I can count.  I admire this man’s strength and continuous faith that he exudes every time we see him.  He is so remarkable!  Hope this card gives him and added lift!  I also am entering it in the Dynamic Duos Monochromatic Color Challenge this week along with the sketch challenge over at Retro Sketches.  I flipped the sketch so that I may put the ribbon on the top of my card.  Hope they don’t mind! :/  I also was very excited to ink up some new stamps that I got form Verve not to long ago. I thought with it being fall in all why not some yellow trees.  I think they came out rather swell!  The sentiment is also from Verve and it’s from the set called Heartfelt Phrases. As always I appreciate you stopping by!

Enjoy your day or night depending on when you actually read this…teehee!  Oh and Have a safe Halloween!

Trick or Treat

Hope you had a great weekend!  Here is my final Halloween Card for this Halloween Season.

I colored this image a while ago and stumbled upon it the other day and took some time this afternoon to finish her off.

I will be entering her into the Color Challenge over at the ColourQ and also at The Friday Mashup where they asked us to make a project with a witch.

The paper is mostly CM with a little GKD.

Stamped images I got from a friend.

Colored her with Prisma Colored pencils.

Added some buttons for detail along with some pop dots!

Have a great start to your work week and thanks for stopping in,

Another Birthday and a Sweet Sunday Sketch

Happy Friday!  So glad it’s the weekend!  It was a tough week, but I made it!  I hope to get out and enjoy the cooler weather that is headed our way this weekend!  Well, now onto the real reason you blew in!   Today’s card was inspired by the fabulous sketch over at the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.  If you have never been to this blog it’s a must!  I have been a huge fan for quite sometime and always felt a little intimidated by all the talent over there, but now feel that my cards are getting a wee bit better and I now have the guts to play along more regularly.

Here are a few details on what I used:  The embossing background I used is called Juli’s Garden by the Cuttlebug.

Stamps: Diamond background stamp is GKD and the sentiment is Stampin Up- called Thinking Happy Thoughts

Cardstock is a mixture over various kinds!  CM, SU, and Gkd and a DP scrap of who knows what….lol

The final touches were made with either a MS punch,SU punch or my Cricut.

Have a fantastic weekend,

Pink, Tan and Cream…

Pink, Tan and Cream is one of my many favorite color combos, it is very near the top of my list!

I had just enough time last night to get this card made, photographed it this morning and got it entered into the color challenge over at CR84FN before work!

I am so glad I didn’t miss out on this one!

Don’t think this card is in need of much explanation.

The DP is from the Scenic Route Paper Company.

Craft Cardstock from Recollections or Bazzill… not sure.

I used my Scor-Pal to added some detail to the creme cardstock.

Punched out some leaves with my MS punch and added some Prima flowers.

Used my Spellbinders Picot Edge Circles again, and a great flourish die-cut from My Favorite Things which I LOVE and I have linked for you.

Add some buttons and lace and there you go!

Happy Halloween…

Halloween is close at hand and the kids at school are getting excited, so as the saying goes….” If you can’t beat ’em you might as well join ’em!

This week the Dynamic Duos have chosen Orange and Black as there 2 color choices along with using a Diecut as an added Dessert!

I combined that challenge with a great sketch over at Freshly Made and this is what I came up with!

I got to use my new Spellbinders that I got yesterday!!!  It’s called Picot Edge and I have been wanted some kind of Circle Diecut for quite sometime now!  So thrilled!

The paper is a mixture of  SU,CM, along with Stamp TV Cardstock.  I also used the Cuttlebug Victoria embossing folder for some added texture!

Thanks so much for the visit!

Have a great week!

Just add something new and Tic Tac Toe…

Just add something new is the requirement to this challenge over at Just Add Ink.  So, that wasn’t difficult right?   I just stumbled upon this blog the other day and was anxious to play along for the first time!  The first new item on my card is the embossing folder I have on the pink cardstock,  it’s called Juli’s Garden and is made by Provo Craft.   It’s so much fun breaking in a new toy for the first time!  Wouldn’t you agree?

The other challenge this card is for is over at Stamp TV and they are using a Tic Tac Toe board and you have to make your selections based on the game we all played as kids.  My choice was Rhinestones, Ribbons, and Pearls.  I think you can find the black rhinestones, and the ribbon, however seeing the pearls might be difficult.  They are coming out of my flowers in the corner.  I bought them at Michael’s in the wedding isle and thought they might be fun to add to a card some day!  So they are my  second ” new”  item that I have never used before!!

The Diamond background stamp and the i love u sentiment is from Gina K over at Stamp TV.  The background stamp script is from Stampibilities and I bought it at a Stamp Expo.  The flower stamp is from Verve and the leaves were made with my cuttlebug and embossed.  Add some ribbon and some accessories and there you have it!

I so appreciate you stopping by and making comments, it just makes me realize what I am doing here does matter and that’s what I need to be reminded of some days!  Thanks so much!

Key to my Heart

Hello Crafting Friends,  Amongst my migraine today… I was determined to make a card and get it posted before night fall.  Today’s card is a combination of three challenges: 1. This intriguing sketch over at Retro Sketches, 2. Casual Friday’s asked us to incorporate a heart in our design and 3. Over at Stamp TV they wanted a CAS card focusing on Pink for Breast Cancer awareness month.  My mom had Breast Cancer and I knew I didn’t want to miss this opportunity!  The stamps and sentiment are also from Stamp TV and were designed by Theresa Momber and the set is called Timeless Treasures.  The DP is my Favorite of all time, and I still have a scrap or two left of it!  The rest of the cardstock is a mixture of GinaK , SU, and CM.  Added some ribbon and there you have it!

Thanks so much for your visit and enjoy your day or night!

Look Who’s Turning 50

Hello everyone,

Today’s card was made with my brother in mind.  He is turning the big 50 this year and along with this card I am making him a scrapbook of his life from birth till graduation.  I am a little over half way done and need to get the pedal to the medal… so to speak!  I have made similar scrapbooks for both of my sisters when they turned 50 and now it’s his turn.  Hey, I wonder who is going to make my scrapbook when my time comes?  LOL But I am in no hurry for that day!!!  🙂  Also, I am real excited to say that this card will be featured at the Crafty Card Gallery this week!  If you have never heard of this blog, I have linked it up for you to go check it out!   The challenge was to make a card with whatever we had laying on our desk…… My desk is usually relatively clean, (sorry I know that is strange for creative people), but I did have the following sitting there: The yellow DP, the two different styles of Die- cuts from My favorite Things, the sparkly stars and the ribbon.  Also, let me explain one of my tricks to use the DP that is being neglected:  Every couple of weeks I go through my papers and get out the ones that I have had for so long and never used…you know the ones gathering dust.  I feel that if they are in plain site they might spark some creativity and finally get a paper cutter taken to them.  And that is why the Yellow DP was incorporated into this card!

Details of the card:

DP and cardstock is CM and SU

Sentiment was made with my computer, the 50 with my cricut

All the Die-namics are from My Favorite Things

Used my cuttlebug for the texture behind the 50 (dots folder)

Not sure if you can tell by the photo, but I punched out some balloons and placed them on the black card stock for added detail.

Then added some ribbon, glitter stars and dots!

Thanks so much for the visit and don’t forget to check out the Crafty Card Gallery,

Missing In Action…

I use the bottom left sketch!

Hello Friends,

I have a very good reason for being MIA over the last few days.  Hubby and I were in Tallahassee visiting our son for a long weekend!  While I was gone I see I even missed National Card Making Day. (sad face) But, a moms gotta do what a moms gotta do right?  It had been 7 weeks since we had last seen him and I was WAY over do for some Tyler time!  Okay, now that I have explained myself, onto the real reason you stopped by!  Today’s card is for this week’s color challenge over at Dynamic Duos.  The colors are Old Olive and Tangerine Tango.  That was a challenge for me, but I was up for it!  I partnered the color challenge up with a sketch over at ispy Sketches.  They are calling this ‘Free for All Friday”.  You get to choose one of their old sketches and make a new card with it.  Also, the sentiment set I used is called” Happy Birday” from Darcies, along with a wonderful script background stamp!  The cute little bird was made with my cricut!  Added some hearts for leaves and there you go!  The Dp and the colored cardstock is from my scrap folders, which is a mix of everything you can think of and more!

Hope you have an amazing day or night, and drop by again real soon!

Dynamic Duos Mix and Match!

Hope everyone in the blogosphere is doing well!  I have been working on some behind the scenes stuff to post at a later date, along with this CAS card that I am happy to post today for the Mix a Match color challenge over at the Dynamic Duos. If you have never been over to the Dynamic Duos you have to go…NOW! LOL It’s one of my favorite challenge sites that never ceases to inspire my creativity and not overwhelm me with so many colors to include. They only require two colors…hence the name Duos.  Anyhoo, The floral die-cut… I picked up over at My Favorite Things.  Then I thought it might be kind of interesting to make some flowers out of hearts.  Added some rhinestones as water droplets, a sentiment, and a bow and there you have it…  A quick an easy CAS card!

Thanks for stopping by, I so love when you do!
