Hearts

Hello, I hope your day is off to a great start! Today I have a couple of cards for you with Hearts in mind, as I am playing along with the Twofer Challenge this month where they are celebrating their Second Anniversary!  Congrat Darnell and team! You know how much I love this challenge site and I hope you are around for many more years to come.  I am also going to link one of my cards up over at CAS Stencil where they asked us to use a “New” stencil.  The cards all began with this great Die cut from Stampin UP called Bloomin Heart.  It’s so intricate and is pretty all by itself.

Fo the wood grain Valentine card, I added some red florals that come along in the die set along with a LOVE die cut from Simon Says Stamps. I used both red and gold paper for a layered look. The YOU sentiment is from Verve along with the banner die which I doubled as well.

For the floral birthday card, I used this new stencil called Lovely Lace from Gina K. Designs.  I posted a card yesterday using the same stencil and that was the first time I had used it.   I made about five different panels in an array of colors, as they were so pretty and easy to do.  I just love the Pink Oxide ink called Worn Lipstick, don’t you? The heart die is also sponged with the Oxide Ink along with the Victorian border die on the bottom. The YOU letter dies and the solid Heart Die are both MFT. The sentiment is Verve.

Here is the pink one by itself.

I hope you have a very creative day and thanks so much for popping in! Nanc’

Thanks….a tiny word!

Hi,  It’s time for my favorite, which is Color Week, at Just Us Girls.  Mark my words when I retire I would absolutely love to start a color challenge blog, as I find them so easy to do!  Today’s colors are Purple, Red, and Pink which were quite fun to work with.  I started off by making a frame stencil to make my background using Oxide Inks.  Love the clean lines that is revealed when you peel the stencil away. Next, I made another stencil with my Lawn Fawn sun die.  Then, here is when disappointment struck! I knew I wanted to add some Hybiscus flowers to my card, so I got out my SU Hybiscus stamp set and matching die cuts when I realized the matching die was MIA!!!  You have no idea how upset I got over this! I was pretty broken up, I must say!  I bought this stamp set for one purpose only and it was for the Hybiscus stamp and die and NOW the die is MISSING. UGH!  I looked high and low and had to result in praying that someday I find it attached to another set and all will be well with the world once again! LOL Fussy cutting until then!  The sentiment is also from Stampin Up and is one of my favs.  Have you ever lost one of your favorite stamps or dies?  It happened to me one other time and Julee Tilman (from Verve) the sweetheart that she is, replaced it for free!

Please join us at JUGS…I would love to see you there! Hugs, Nanc’

Stencils at STB

Hello, We have a fun and easy topping starting today over at Seize the Birthday.  The topping I selected this time around is stenciling.  I along with many of you, I have quite a few of these fun things laying around and it was time to put them to use.  This fun water splash stencil is from MFT.  In fact, the entire card was made with MFT products.  I used Oxide Inks for my background and colored pencil for my medium.

I would love for you to come over and check out the rest of the Design Team’s cards and hope you get inspired to play along!

Hope you have a creative day, Nanc’

Dimension

Hello, I hope your day is off to a great start! Today it’s time for a new challenge over at Just Us Girls, and the Trend that we have for you is to add dimension to your card and or project.  The sand that I have surrounding the lighthouse has been raised with pop dots for the required dimension. This card was fun to put together. We also have two Guest Designers joining us this month, they are Hannelie and Mary.  Everyone did such a great job with this Trend, you must come by and check them out… and then consider joining us!

All products are Stampin Up.

Happy Stamping,  Nanc’

Something New!

Hello,  Today’s card is for the first Paper Players challenge of the New Year and the theme is Something New.  I needed some baby cards for the store which worked out perfectly!  I am still in love with this cute little elephant named Emery from Verve, and you know I love polka dots, so this card worked out well in my opinion. LOL The stars are from MFT, the sentiment is also Verve, and the clouds are from Lawn Fawn.

I hope you have a great start to your week tomorrow…I have to go back to work myself.  Happy crafting! Nanc’

Happy New Year-Layer it!

Happy 2020!  Isn’t that unreal?  I trust if you are reading this post you have recovered from the Holiday Season!  It was a busy one for this household and I am ready to get back to a much-needed routine, so I can figure out what day of the week it is. LOL  I am also super excited as today we are launching our new look over at Seize the Birthday!  Thanks to our talented Design Team member Ashwini for making everything look amazing.  We thought it was time for our logo to reflect that we are a Birthday Challenge, hence adding the new balloons on the graphic. Not to mention the bright happy colors too.  Thanks once again Ashwini! I love it!

Remember over at Seize the Birthday you don’t have to use the topping any birthday card will do!

I also would like to welcome our new Surprise Party Guest for the next two months.  I am sure she is someone most all of you will recognize as she is super talented. It’s Joyce Mehrberg from Cards by the Sea.

Now onto my card, This card has lots of layers and dimension. It all started with this card over on Pinterest, that I can’t link up as now I can’t find it. However, my intentions were good.  I added the fun black circles to some designer paper. The letter dies are from MFT.  The balloon is a punch. and the sentiment is from Verve. I added some terrible looking squiggly lines and lots of pop dots for dimension.

I don’t do resolutions anymore as they are so difficult for me except when I gave up Coke, for that one I was very successful.  A few years ago I decided to select a word for the New Year. The word I have chosen for 2020 is Acceptance.  I plan to use this in every aspect of my life.  Whether it be work, family, friendships etc…and of course card making. When it comes to my hobby,  I need to accept the fact that I may never have 1,000+ followers here or on Instagram, I may never have my very own stamp line LOL, or even have a card published or be able to make this hobby a monetarily full-time gig. Most of all, I won’t love every card I create. I need to be happy and content with just being me and proud of my accomplishments so far.  For example, the card above is not fabulous, so I am still posting it and just accepting it for what it is.  Wish me luck, as this is not going to be easy in all areas of life!!   If you were to have a word for the New Year, what would it be?  Happy creating,  Nanc’

More Christmas ….Merry Merry!

I am back again as promised, with another Christmas card.  I had a lot of fun throwing this card together.  Some of my crafting friends over the years have sent me some cover plate dies and it’s always fun getting them back out to see what else I can do with them.  I do not know who makes this one, but I do know the Poinsettias are from Memory Box and the sentiment is Verve. This card really sparkles in real life as it has a coat of Wink of Stella on the florals. Don’t you just love Kraft on a Christmas card?  I certainly do!

I am going to enter my card over at Time Out Challenges where the words are Merry and Cheerful and again over at The Flower Challenge where the challenge is to use a Die.

Have a creative day,  Nanc’

The Flower Challenge-Use a Die

Hello…Long-time no see! I thought I would pop in today and share a card that I made for the recent Flower Challenge. The challenge this month is to use Die-cuts.  It can’t get much more easier than that.  In fact, I will be sharing another card in a few days. I have a LARGE variety of companies on this card, so if you have any questions…just let me know.  The sentiment is heat embossed and I used the smooshing technique and watercolor paper for my poinsettias.

Hope you have a great week!  Hugs, Nanc’

Anything Goes @ JUGS!

Hello, I hope you are enjoying your day!

We have a new challenge starting over at Just Us Girls and Vicki is hosting and it’s Anything Goes!  We have an added bonus this time around!  We are extending our challenge for the entire month so you can enjoy the Holidays with your family and maybe squeeze in some time to join us too!

For my card! This image is not my own but something I stamped while visiting my friend Barb this past summer. I really do love it and I do believe it’s from Gina K.  I did some Copic coloring, and not sure if you can tell but the red paper is embossed with large circles too. Some small pearls finished it off nicely.

As the front of my card states, I am Wishing you…..A Very Merry Christmas.  Nanc’

Winter Pic @JUGS

Hello, We have a perfect photo this week at Just Us Girls that is surely going to help you get those Christmas cards done. My card is very simple and didn’t come out quite as I had planned….but that’s okay. I had intentions of only lightly covering my tree with white embossing powder and I ended up covering the entire thing.  We can’t love them all, can we? Plus, I had no time for a redo.

The stamps are a mix of a wooden block-tree, a small snowflake from Gina K and the sentiment is SU.  I used Oxide ink for my background.

Please come on over to JUGS and join us and I can assure the other ladies did a much better job than I.
