Hello there. Today over at The Paper Players it’s time for Color Week. Jaydee has chosen a fun color trio for us this time around. Since I was pushed for time this week, I made a card very similar to a design you may have seen before. But that is okay, right? Who better to CASE than yourself! I also feel that this entire heart background thing that I have been doing so much of lately just works for me, and is such a fun and easy for all different types of cards. To stick to the colors this week and I knew the blue and green would have to be saved for the water, I thought…why not an entirely yellow sky. I had a bit of a brain fart when I selected my card base, however it is still in the blue family though. I have been having a ton of those brain lapses lately and I know it’s just stress and lack of proper sleep, hopefully the team will be okay with it.
Card Details: I used MFT cloud stencil and a heart stencil to start my background. I then masked off the rest to create my water. The water ripples are made with a stamp. You do have to do a lot of thinking and masking and covering when doing these types of scenes. They are never perfect, but that is what makes them handmade. The water and all the birds are from the same SU set called High Tide. The greeting is from Catherine Pooler and the boat is from Impression Obsession.

Had to stop by and say how much I love this card! The heart is such a great way to frame the scene and the birds off the edge just balance it out so nicely. Beautiful!

I LOVE this card…I love how your put scenes inside shapes like hearts or even circles. This is really stunning!

I couldn’t wait to comment on this one Nance – it’s fabulous! The scene inside the masked heart is really effective, but what really steals the show is the fabulous scene you’ve created! What a perfect use of the colours (including the base 😉 ) and those yellow clouds are amazing. I just LOVE this card!!

This is just fantastic! I love your use of the heart stencil as the start for the whole scene and it’s perfect with the sentiment. I need some tips for using stencils…mine always seem to slide a bit! Have a great week!

I love everything about this Nanc’! It totally reminds me of the beautiful Florida beaches and makes me want to pack my bags. Love the detail in the clouds and the waves. Sooo pretty!
