You’re One in a Melon

Hello friends, The clocks keep spinning and it’s now April 1st and that is NO joke! So that means it’s time for the next Hues of Color at Color Hues. Cindy is our wonderful hostess and I just love the color pairing she chose for us. The colors are Peach and Green. A few months ago I purchased this watermelon set from Pretty Pink Posh and had yet to use it. I thought this might just be the perfect time.

What do you think of my Peach and Green Watermelons? I am going to pretend they are Cantaloupes. I just love fresh Cantaloupe, how about you? Yes, I know cantaloupes are not green on the outside, but mine are! 🤣 Hubby, calls it Mush Melon even though the correct spelling is Musk. LOL He said when he was a kid he didn’t love the texture and that is why he called it that.

A Few Card Details: I used the sentiment set that came with these stamps and then added my own Verve-Birthday greeting. I sponged the background with SSS inks and then colored the stamps using Copics and Prismas. The stitched squares are from Stampin Up.

Now you have to head to Color Hues and check out my fabulous Design Team cards and our guest, Donna Mikasa. So happy to have you with us, Donna!

Take care and happy creating, Nanc’

  1. I think peach and green for watermelons – or any other kind – is pure delight! I love the checkered square sentiment panel – it’s a fun contrast to those dotted seeds! What a wonderful birthday card. It’s a fresh and fabulous design in such pretty shades of our ‘hues’.

  2. It looks refreshing, Nancy, no matter what kind of melon it is.

  3. This is making my mouth water for cantaloupe or watermelon! Awesome use of these colors, Nanc’!

  4. Nancy, your stylized cantaloupe card is just too sweet and so much fun! You’re so ingenious! What a great way to showcase the challenge colours. Must say, I’m not a fan of melons; it’s a ‘texture’ thing with me. Same with potatoes, pasta, rice, beans (except for green beans, which I love), corn, etc. etc. Yep…picky eater to the extreme!

  5. Who cares that cantaloupes haven’t got green rinds, these look good enough to eat! Fab make with that new stash Nancy. 🙂

  6. Watermelon, Cantaloupes…I love them all and especially your peachy colored ones Nanc’! Never would have thought to use peach coloring on these melons, but have to say I’m really loving this card and the colors! Love the checkerboard center too! Awesome card my friend!! Hugs. :0)

  7. This is so adorable, Nanc’! I love the you’ve used peach and green for your watermelon/cantaloupe slices. :) Very fresh and spring-like with these colours. xx

  8. What a fun card, Nancy! I love it, and like your husband, I wasn’t much of a fan of cantalope, but I love it now! There are so many kinds of melons on the market now, I’m quite sure there’s a peach and green one somewhere!

  9. I think it’s so fantastic that you turned your watermelons into cantaloupe’s! I agree with Karen that there is probably a gourmet cantaloupe coloured watermelon out there. I love this sweet stamp set and your card is so much fun. I love it my friend!

  10. I’m sorry, but creative license rules in card making and I think your peach and green melons are totally fabulous, Nancy! This is a fun card with a great design and I will always love a punny sentiment, although I’m (melon)-ambivalent lol!

  11. Fun card and I love how you thought outside the box. But I agree with hubby….ick on cantelope and honeydew. But watermelon is a bit yes. LOL!
