Cover the Card

We have a fun and easy topping for you starting today at Seize the Birthday. My fellow DT member Ashwini wants us to Cover our Cards. Basically what that means is limited white space. The background stamp (Gerbera Daisy- from SSS) I used today is brand new to me and I couldn’t wait to use it.  One day soon I hope to color it too, but I chickened out for this post. LOL I decided to do some emboss resist with my Oxide Inks instead.  The sentiment is Verve and the flower and Smile die is MFT.  I raised the center of the card with some foam for added interest. The smile has a shiny sheen by using crystal effects.

Here is a picture of the panel before I mounted it. If you haven’t tried THESE makeup brushes I suggest you do.  My friend Barb suggested I get them and I am so glad I did!!  Thanks Barb!

Before I go I would like to take a moment to thank our Surprise Party Guest and my friend Linda for joining us these past two months.  It was an absolute pleasure having you Linda!  Please play along again with us when you have the time.  We love your work and you my friend.

I am also going to link my card up over at The Flower Challenge where they want us to Focus on Background stamping. I am so glad I didn’t miss this challenge this month.

Now head on over to Seize the Birthday and check out Linda’s and the amazing teammate’s cards!

Happy Crafting, Nanc’

  1. Beautiful card and I love the bright yellow colors.

  2. This is beautiful Nancy. Love the pretty and cheery yellow. The raised panel gives it great dimension.
Have a great weekend my friend. ((Hugs))

  3. Love, love, LOVE this happy, cheery card. I’m so partial to yellow, always a feel good color. I really like how you have sponged the middles of the flowers, and that white embossing just makes them POP!!! Really gorgeous!

  4. Oh so pretty! The ink resist sponging is beautiful – and you don’t have the time to colour that many flowers right now anyway! 😀 Love the way you made the sentiment banner really pop.

  5. I love the way you inked up those glorious daisies, Nancy. And raising the center panel added dimension and interest. Thanks for sharing your card with us at The Flower Challenge.

  6. You’ve rocked the challenge, Nancy! The Gerberas look so very lovely!

  7. Beautiful use of “cover it” yellow! 🙂

  8. I don’t blame you for chickening out with colouring this, it would take forever but would be so satisfying when done. Maybe a Summertime project by the pool? I think you’ve done a fantastic job with colouring it with the yellow and orange, really makes the background glow. The black of the sentiment makes it really stand out and love the die-cut middle to add dimension. A gorgeous card and I’m so glad you shared it with us at The Flower Challenge!

  9. Ink blending worked great on this background image, Nancy! So bright and Summery! The pretty scalloped panel adds even more cuteness to your card! Thanks for sharing this at The Flower Challenge 🙂 !

  10. Fabulous blending, Nancy! I love how the sentiment pops off the card too.

  11. I absolutely love everything about this! I need you to teach me how to blend cause yours is amazing. Love the emboss resist with this stamp. Love the flag layers with the sentiment too.
