Repetitive Die-Cutting

Hello, It’s the 4th Thursday of the month and time for the next challenge at Seize the Birthday. I am the hostess for this challenge and I have chosen Repetitive Die-Cutting for my Topping. There are many different ways to achieve this and if you pop on over to Seize the Birthday you will see how my fabulous Design Team along with our guests were inspired. Speaking of guests, we still have Stephanie with us but today we also have Johanna joining us as well. She was the winner of our last challenge using our Topping. I am happy to have them both in our line-up!

Card Details: My card was totally inspired by the lovely and talented Yana Smakula and you can find her fabulous card Here. You will just need to scroll down a bit. Her card is so much prettier because she added glitter to the wings of her butterfly.

The Butterfly is from Pink and Main and I sponged it with Oxide Inks and used glitter on his body. The Hellos on the background are from MFT, and the dot EF is from SU. The greeting is from Spellbinders and was foiled in gold. Some twine and various gems and I was done.

I hope you will join us over at Seize the Birthday. Remember, the Topping is always optional…any Birthday card will do! See you there! Nanc’

  2. What a great challenge for this card making fun group. I love your background and I think it will be a new thing for me as I create new cards.

  3. This was a fun challenge Nancy. I had to put on my “thinking cap”, but was pleased with my final card. I love your card with that pretty butterfly and the repetitive die cuts in the background.

  4. That butterfly is awesome and I love the colours. I am going to try using your idea of adding die cut words over CS. The effect is really good.

  5. Such a bright, happy butterfly, Nanc’! I love how you’ve paired it with a kraft background with all those hellos!

  6. Nancy, great challenge. Your beautiful butterfly is gorgeous against your die cut hello’s

  7. This is very eye catching! You can’t ever go wrong with kraft and the subtle tone on tone is wonderful.

  8. That’s a nice way to use sentiment dies! I love the background and that bright yellow butterfly (we have similar, albeit tinier butterflies in our unruly backyard now – the quickest things you can find, impossible to photograph!) I love the concept and the design, Nancy!

  9. This is gorgeous, Nancy! I love how you’ve used words as your repeat.

  10. I also love the diecut words as the background, perfect with that pretty butterfly, thankyou for the fun challenge, Cathy x

  11. Love the tone on tone background – so cool! Your butterfly is absolutely stunning – great layout too.
