Color my world with family, friends and some time to be creative making cards!

Happy Birthday

Hello and Happy New Year to you! I hope you had a nice Christmas and New Year’s Eve and are as ready as I am to get creative again. It feels so good to be back today for my first card of the year for Color Hues. Marcia is our wonderful hostess and she has chosen the Hues of Light Blue and Navy for us to be creative with. As you can see my light blue is a bit on the heavy side, but that is okay as it’s all about being creative and staying in the right Hue!

My son and DIL completely spoiled me for Christmas and one of the gifts they got me was a Puluz Light Box. I still have a lot to learn, but love that I will be able to take pics at night once again.

Card Details: I want to try to make more of an effort to use some of my older stamps this year, which is something I think I say every year, so we will see how it goes. LOL For this card, I am using a stamp set by Pink Fresh Studio called Layered Bouquet, and the sentiment is called Happy Happy Happy and from Lawn Fawn. I masked off the top half of the card and used Oxide Inks and some white and blue splatters for my background. For my flowers, I used Pawsitively Saturated Inks by SSS.

Now, not only did the DT do a wonderful job over at Color Hues with their cards, but we also have a fabulous card by our guest, Bonnie McClure as well. I hope you will come on by and check out all the cards and be inspired to play along!

Take care and may 2024 be good to all of us! Nanc’

  1. I have and love this stamp set. I’ll never get rid of it. As I revisit the stamp over the years, it’s like a new stamp to me.
Thanks for the color inspiration with this set.

  2. So pretty, Nancy. Last year I resolved to use older stamps and I think I did pretty well. I’ll do it again this year although I do have a NBUS box that’s calling my name too. I don’t usually let them pile up but it’s a busy time of year. Have a great new year!

  3. This is so lovely. the colours are perfect and those splatters are something else xx

  4. Beautiful card. I too have this stamp set and love it. I love how you used it was the different shades of blue. Your background is lovely and really makes the pretty flowers pop. TFS
    Happy New Year.

  5. I think you used just the right amount of light blue, Nancy! This is a lovely way to say happy birthday!

  6. Such pretty flowers and I love the fonts of the sentiment! Your photos look great!

  7. I absolutely love your card, Nancy! The beautiful shades of blue seem just right to me, and the flowers pop on the pretty background. I am so glad you’re planning to use some older stamps, that is my intention also. We’ll have to cheer each other on, lol. Happy New Year!

  8. This is wonderful! I love the design with the beautiful ink blended background. I’ve never heard of the Puluz Light Box so I’ll be curious to know what you think of it. One of my goals this year is to use all the stamps and dies I own that have never been used. The box was pretty full before the after Christmas sales!

  9. Hi my friend, Happy New Year! Your new light box looks great. What type of lights does it have? As for your card, it’s beautiful, I love that set it looks wonderful in light blue and navy.

  10. Now the blue is perfect match on my computer screen, but you are right it is all about being creative and having fun. Showing off both your card making talents and new light box in one post, you go girl.

  11. I really love the background design on this one. Your stamped flowers are gorgeous. What a wonderful gift too!!

  12. I have this PFS set too Nancy and haven’t used it in a long, long time…I need to do a better job also of using older stamps! But anyway, your card with the blues is absolutely beautiful and I’m loving the font of your sentiment too! Lovely, lovely card my friend and a very Happy New Year to you too! Hugs. :0)

  13. Your card is just so beautiful Nancy! Those pretty flowers are so dainty and look wonderful against that amazing background! I wish you all the luck in keeping your shopping under control; I always tell myself that this year I’m going to show more restraint but in reality I have very little luck in doing so lol! Happy New Year to you and your family, my friend!

  14. Completely smitten with your pretty hues of blue card, Nancy! Wonderful way to breathe fresh life into an older set. I’ve done a bit ‘too much’ post-Christmas shopping; hopefully, I can gain some control and do what you’re doing: love the oldies! Biggest hugs coming your way!
