Color my world with family, friends and some time to be creative making cards!

Thinking of You at CH

Hello friends, It is the middle of the month and time for the New Hues of Colors at Color Hues. Hannelie has chosen the colors of Yellow and Pink. I am using more of the April release at Spellbinders for my card design. I have the Angel Trumpet Die once again as my focal point it is part of the Fresh Picked Collection. I also used the Buffalo Plaid Better Press Plate for the background. This is the first time I have used this plate and I like it a lot. I reached for the sentiment from the Propagation Garden Sentiment set. The Gold Glitter Cardstock is from Spellbinders as well.

I adding a bit of sponging with some Walnut Stain Oxide Ink which made my leaves a deep yellow. At first, I was on the fence about whether I liked it or not but after I put the gold splatters on the background, it really started to grow on me! PUN intended! 😝 The splats are gold metallic paint.

I think tying in the pink and gold with the paper strips at the top, the gold flower centers, and the heart die in the bottom corner really helped too. I heat-embossed the sentiment with gold embossing powder and raised it with Foam Squares.

  1. Nancy, you already know I love this, but I’ll tell you again: I LOVE your pretty, fresh, eye-catching, smile-making card!

    hugs~carol

  2. That die cut packs a punch Nancy, the leaves look almost like gold and the pink pops off the page.

There’s such a broad range of styles in the DT cards this time but all equally brill! 🙂

  3. So much to LOVE about this lovely, lovely card Nanc”!! I love the plaid background, the strips, the splattering, and of course those BEAUTIFUL flowers! I love the darker shade of yellow you achieved on the leaves too! GORGEOUS card my friend!! Hugs. :0)

  4. Oh, yes, that golden yellow was an excellent choice, it looks yummy with the vibrant pink flowers and all the gold. Such a fabulous card, Nancy, those stylized flowers are so fun and I love all the detail with the strips, the plaid and the little heart down by the sentiment! I used to have a Trumpeter Vine on a trellis and it was a beast because it grew so big each summer but the flowers sure were pretty and the humming birds loved it.

  5. These flowers are so fun and cool. I love the shades of pink & yellow you used. So bold and so beautiful! I really like those dies!! xo

  6. Nancy, your talents with dies and your eye for color are a perfect fit for Spellbinders. I’m amazed every time to see how brilliantly you’ve used their products! This card is exquisite with the gold and pinks together and the big blooms are so elegant! I love everything about it!

    • That is so sweet of you to say, Cindy! This month was extremely difficult. I certainly appreciate your kind words! 😘

  7. I’m a fan of all those Fresh Picked florals at Spellbinders, and this one is particularly striking! I love the hues of pink and yellow you chose–they make a statement as well. The touches of gold add even more elegance!

  8. Those flowers look spectacular in the bold hues of yellow and pink. The added gold turns this from wow, to WOW!!! Thanks for making my chosen colors look so amazing Nancy!
