Shakers!

Hello, Our new Design Team member Elizabeth, at Just Us Girls, is our hostess this week and she has asked us to make Shakers for our Trend this time around. If you know me you know that I am intimidated and struggle with Shakers and I don’t really know why. However, that is until now! Amy R from Prairie Paper and Ink has a video out that shows you how to make full panel shakers. I am pleased to announce that this was a game changer for me! I need to go ahead and donate all the unused shaker shapes I have purchased in the past, as I don’t think I am going back that way again. LOL But who knows! I have linked up the video for you above!

I am also linking up over at Happy Little Stampers for their Stencil Challenge of Anything Goes!

Card Details: This shaker was made with leftover packaging that I had yet to discard…thank goodness! If you look closely the plastic has a bit of a wave to it, which was a happy accident since I do have a beach theme. I regrettably tried to shade the flip flops with a Grey Copic. Most elements are from Honey Bee Stamps-Flippin Fabulous, the things that are not are… the two types of leaves and those are from Stampin Up. The stencil is from Whimsy Stamps and called Swish. I used Oxide Inks, Prismas, and some Copics to color. The stars I added to the Flip Flops are from who knows. The sequins mix I picked up at my local stamping store and it actually has shells in it. Super fun! Oh, and the bow on the flip flops is sparkle paper.

The inside of the card says…Flippin Fabulous! This card has already been received by the recipient…the sweet Darnell. I wanted to send it to her since she recently decided to stop the Twofer Challenge, and to tell her know how fabulous she is and to thank her for all the love she puts into this great hobby of ours. I hope it brightened her day just like she brightens ours. She still has another challenge blog that she runs called NBUS, you should definitely check it out!

I hope you will consider coming by Just Us Girls and checking out my fabulous teammates cards and then playing along!

Happy Creating, Nanc’

  1. Seriously AWESOME! You nailed this challenge 👏😀

  2. This is awesome! I love how you made it and those flip flops are sooooo cute!!!

  3. You sure know how to combine companies to make fabulous cards, Nancy. That flip-flop set is on my wish list. I made a full shaker too because that’s all I had to work with. It is easier but I still like the other shakers too especially with the purchased pouches.

  4. AMAZING card Nanc’! LOVE the beach theme. Turquoise and orange are a favourite combo of mine … it’s just a feel good combination. Love your sweet flip-flops and the shells and waves on the card. The shaker is so cool and I will definitely be checking out the video on how to make one of these shakers. I bet Darnell LOVED this card! xx

  5. I watch Amy too, but I have not seen her shaker card. Your card is amazing with so many elements to see on it. I love the flip flops on the beach. A card that can be used for so many things. Your colors are splendid.

  6. Nancy…fun! fun! fun! Your card is a perfect full-size shaker! Thank you!

  7. Talk about ‘flippin’ fabulous’ Nancy… this card is definitely that! Just WOW! Vicky x

  8. This is a stunner for sure! So glad you found a new love for shakers. They are so fun! And I love your design and color choices! Your cards are getting prettier and prettier with each one!

  9. Oh Nancy there is so much eye candy here – so summery and fun. What a great new way for us all to enjoy making easier shaker cards. Love it!!!

  10. I totally LOVE this awesome, beachy shaker! Beautiful background (love that stencil for the water effect). Your flip flops are adorable with the little bows. Fabulous shaker!

  11. I just love that full panel shaker technique! I had no idea it exists till this challenge and I must give it a try. Yours is fabulous, so fun and cheerful.
