DAD

Hello, It’s the first of the month and time for the next Hues of Color at Color Hues. I am you hostess this time around and I thought that the color Blue and Brown might work well for some Father’s Day themed cards. The design team and our guest Michal have a great variety of cards for many occasions to inspire you.

I took the picture of my card in doors, and parts of the card appear to be black when in actuality they are navy. There is no black on this card at all.

I am also playing along with the sweet gals over at the Tic Tac Toe Challenge where I have selected the row of Dad, Blue, and Die-cut.

Card Details: The fish and DSP are from SU, the waves are MFT, the letters are a Sizzix die, and the greeting is from Verve. Nuvo drops for bubbles.

I hope you will pop on over to Color Hues and join us! We would love to have you!

Take care, Nanc’

  1. Great combination choice, Nancy. I hope I have something I can use. Your background paper works well with the blue fish and I love the bubbles.

  2. Love your reasoning for choosing these two great colors together, Nanc’. You’ve made the perfect Dad design!! I’m sorry that you have been overwhelmed with stress behind the scenes. I hope things get resolved soon and everyone is feeling better and less stressed. Lots of gentle hugs, Darnell

  3. I like that design…looks like a good one for a Dad card. I am still thinking on what I can do for mine.

  4. When I think about it, these colours are great for masculine cards but it never entered my head! Great card and of course navy is the new black! 😉

  5. Great color combo for masculine cards and since it will be Dad’s day soon, well smart choice. I am wondering if you stamped your own background paper? Very creative card! Hugs!

  6. Nancy, I am always blown away to see your creative takes on our color challenge! And the clever way you combine sets and images and add a few layers. The large sentiment ties it all together, what a fab masculine card! And a great color combo, now that I see everyone’s inspiring results!

  7. I love your Father’s Day card, Nancy! Great color combo. I struggled with my brown looking black in my photos.

  8. I never thought about a Father’s Day card, but wish I had. Blue and brown are a great combo for guys; my mind just didn’t go there. I love the patterned paper and, of course, your card design is fabulous! You really excel at layering!

  9. Nancy, what a totally fabulous card! From the clever design and all the elements, including the die cut DAD, it’s just brilliant and I hope Dad loves it. Blue and brown are perfect colors together, so well suited for masculine cards in the month of June. Thanks for joining us at the Tic Tac Toe challenge this week! Take care, my friend.

    Hugs,

    Stef
