Color my world with family, friends and some time to be creative making cards!

Here’s to Fun in the Sun

Hello, I hope your week is treating you well. It’s the middle of the month so it’s time for our next Hues of Color at Color Hues. Marcia is our wonderful hostess and she has chosen Blue and Turquoise for us today. I have been itching to get out some of my favorite MFT sets and I was in the need of a House warming card, so that is what I have for you today. My Brother and Sister in Law bought a home here in Florida and are officially going to be snowbirds, and this card is for them.

Card Details: MFT-Beach Bungalow, MFT-Shady Palm, MFT-Life’s a Beach Sentiment. Oxide inks for my scene and a bit of Copics and Prisma Colored Pencils. I used a bit of white paint splatter as well.

Now, I certainly hope you will head on over to Color Hues and check out the cards by our fabulous team and join us. Don’t get hung up on finding the perfect Turquoise, as it’s pretty subjective-just do the best you can.

Speaking of Color Hues-DT…This past Tuesday my friend Carol and I got to meet up with CH-DT Member Karen Walker as she was vacationing in my neck of the woods. I love meeting up with teammates it’s one of the many things about this hobby that I love so much! We had a wonderful lunch and great conversation! So happy you escaped the cold and came to Florida, Karen!

Take care and make sure you find time to be creative as it’s good for the soul, Nanc’

  1. Can’t thank you enough for arranging lunch with you and Carol! So much fun! When I saw this cute beach scene, I thought to myself: “Just perfect!” I’m so glad I’m enjoying the beach right now instead of shoveling snow in New York! Love all the details in this card–the surf board, the beach ball, and the sea gulls in the sky. Your brother will love this card.

  3. Catching up with like minded people is just the best, you looked to have had a great time. Love your beach themed card, perfect for those snowbirds! 🙂

  6. I was hoping this was a picture of your house Nancy and I was going to ask if I could come visit…what a sweet, sweet scene you’ve created with my challenge colors!! Winter is still hanging on here in Michigan, so sunny and warm sounds absolutely fabulous right now!! So glad that you and Karen and Carol could get together…stamping friends really are the best and I just love how you can talk and talk while never even having met in person before! We are definitely all connected by a great hobby!! Hugs. :0)

  7. Your scene is absolutely delightful, Nancy, and how wonderful that family is moving closer. So glad you three could spend time together. I have fond memories of when Michele and I came to visit.

  8. I’d love to have a chance just to have a peek at your die collection, Nancy – you have all the best ones for every occasion! And such a sweet one to welcome your brother and his wife! As Karen said, all the details are perfect.

It’s wonderful to be able to meet our crafty friends in person and you three look like you’re having a great time! Love it!

  9. A perfect beach scene for welcoming new people to the paradise that we are lucky to live in. I know that you are having so much fun designing cards with your MFT dies, this is amazing!

  10. I might go to the beach if I had a cute little bungalow like this one. Your background is perfection!
