Color my world with family, friends and some time to be creative making cards!

Sending Birthday Wishes

Hello,  I really like the trio of colors over at The Color Throwdown this week and so glad I had some time to play along. I have been wanting to try a technique that intrigued me by Jennifer McGuire and I have linked up the video for you here I have done one of the techniques out of the 6 that are included in this video but I have plans to go back and try a few more.  The first thing I had to do is make myself a heart stencil using some acetate. Next, it was time to ink up my card base.  However, I messed up as I started in the wrong spot and didn’t get my darkest heart in the middle of my card.  I decided to try again and was much happier with the results of the second card.  Then I went back and lined my stencil back up on the first card and managed to fix my error. So that is why there are two dark hearts instead of one on the card below.  As the saying goes…waste not, want not. I am not one to give up on a card very easily.

Card Details: Sentiment is from Wplus9, florals and leaves are MFT, and some gold sequins too.

I hope your day is off to a good start, Nanc’

  1. Wow! I thought that you had cut out the hearts in pink vellum. I love the soft look and am so glad that you didn’t give up in this one. Going to watch the video now.

  2. I love all the shades of pink and fun heart design.

  3. I need to go back and review some of JM’s techniques. This one is a great one and I’m so glad you ‘fixed’ the original one, Nancy. They are both lovely.
