Hello there, Today over at Just Us Girls, Sue is our hostess and she always comes up with some fun techniques that I have never tried before. However, I usually am behind the eight ball on those types of things. This time she asks us to Heat Emboss Embossing Folders. If you have never done this technique before, here is a link by Jennifer McGuire. Thanks, Sue! I really enjoyed this!

I am joining in over at Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge and over at the Peace on Earth Christmas Challenge too. You should check them both out!

Card Details: My first attempt ended up in the trash, but I am really pleased with try number two, especially once I turned it into a card. I decided to use my Snowflakes embossing folder for my design. I used my entire piece of heat embossed card-stock and decided to put it as a backdrop too. The die-cut Ornament is from Stampin Up, the foliage at the top is from Spellbinders. The greeting is from Verve. Some Gold Nuvo drops and gold twine to finish it off.

Now come check out the rest of the cards from the Just Us Girls Design Team and our guest and join us! Nanc’

Nancy… I am laughing! My first two attempts didn’t make the final cut. After seeing Bobby’s card, I so wish I had a 3D embossing folder. The effect is amazing. The snowflakes turned out fab…and turning the piece into a gorgeous ornament card, just brilliant!

I never thought to use this technique on a die cut but it looks fabulous as your gold ornament, Nancy. I may have to try this again using different folders that aren’t 3D.

Black and gold are always so striking! I love your embossed background. It was definitely worth a second go at it. Thanks so much for playing along with the HLS Christmas challenge Nancy! — Jules

You nailed this! That ornament is gorgeous done in this technique! Beautiful card! It took me several attempts to get something I was happy with, too, but now I find it quite addictive.
