Thinking of You

Hello Friends, I hope your day is off to a good start. I have more new products from Spellbinders to share with you today. Shocker I know! LOL Let me just say that this month has been exceptionally busy, and I hope to come up for air soon. 🤪 Today I am working with the Out and About Collection and the die set is called Dancin in the Rain.

I was excited to receive this die as I don’t have many umbrellas or rainy weather-type dies in my stash. Plus look at the duck? Isn’t he just the cutest! I have a card featuring him coming up soon. Stay tuned.

Card Details: The first thing I did was make a stencil using the Notched Corner Frames. Then I used my new Waffle Flower water stencil and some Oxide inks and made my background. I used; Salty Ocean and Iced Spruce. Next, I cut out the dies and built my scene. I used Foam Squares on my umbrella to give the card some depth. I also shaded the little duck and the girl’s boots. If you look closely I used a piece of vellum for the water puddle. I ran out of room for a sentiment and found this small one from Gina K. A few raindrops to finish it off.

If you place an order after clicking on one of the links below, I will receive a small commission, and also get to continue as an affiliate with Spellbinders at no cost to you. I certainly would appreciate any of your support! Thank you!

Seas the Day

Hello friends, I have a masculine card for you today using the Fair Winds Collection from Spellbinders. This time my focus was on the Guiding Light Die set. I am also using the new Fresh Picked Labels and Tags die set that was also released recently. I thought it made for an interesting shape for my little scene. The two things on this card that are not Spellbinders are the glimmering water stamp and the sun, they belong to Waffle Flower. I first stamped the reflection in white and I didn’t love it, so I came back with a yellow Prisma Colored Pencil and it looks a tad better, but not perfect. The inks are all Oxides.

The background of this card evolved a while before I was happy with it. If you look closely you can see the water started with a striped pattern, and as it goes forward fades away. Not intentionally, but the rocks saved me.

The sentiment can be found in the Fair Winds Sentiments set.

I am linking up with the fun over at Time Out Challenge where they have a photo inspiration of a lighthouse for the next two weeks.

Congratulations

Hello friends, I have a wedding card for you today using the same pretty Pixi Dust DesignsBergenia Die Set that I shared with you a few days ago. This time, however, I cut it out in white and that is when it hit me that it would make a gorgeous wedding card. So that is the direction I went. The heart-foiled paper is DSP which I picked up at Hobby Lobby. The glitter paper is from Spellbinders. The heart dies including the bow tie that I turned into his and hers hearts are from Spellbinders Gnome Drive Hearts for You and the sentiment is from MFT.

I am thrilled to have the opportunity to use Affiliate links for different companies and if you place an order after clicking on one of the links below, I will receive a small commission. I certainly would appreciate any of your support! Thank you!

I’d Be Lost Without You

Hello friends, I hope you are doing well! There is another wonderful collection from Dawn Woleslagle and Spellbinders that I have yet to share with all of you. The Collection is called Fair Winds and let me tell you it is really terrific. In hindsight, I wish I would have gotten the entire collection.😆 I am a tad late showing this collection because I was waiting for the sentiments to arrive. I started with a very clean and easy card and if you know me, I love making simple background layouts.

Card Details: I made a stencil using the Tunnel Scapes dies I used a few days ago. Then masked it off and made my sky and beach. The dies are from the set called Oh, Buoy. I used a bit of either Oxide inks or Copics to give the dies some dimension. The dots in the sand were made with a very old SU woodblock stamp. The sentiment is from the Spellbinder’s Fairwinds Sentiment set that I mentioned I had been waiting on. The small birds are in the set I will show you soon called Guiding Light.

I am linking up over at Addicted to Stamps and More for the Die Cuts and Stencils Challenge.

If you place an order after clicking on one of the links below, I will receive a small commission, and also get to continue as an affiliate with Spellbinders at no cost to you. I certainly would appreciate any of your support! Thank you!

Hello, Special Friend

Hello friends, Here we are in the middle of June already, and time for the next Hues of Color at Color Hues Challenge. Marcia has picked a pretty color pairing of Sage and Pink. Of course, anytime I see green as one of the color pairings it seems the first thing I think of is florals. I think the entire Design Team thought the same thing. 😂 There are a gorgeous array of floral cards over there. We also have Amy Tsuruta joining us as our guest. Welcome, Amy!

I knew I wanted to use Spellbinder’s new 3 in 1 Tag Punch once again and I found a tag over on Pinterest that I fell in love with. I have just about cased it and you can find it Here. Then I decided to use more of the recently released products that I am crushing on to complete my design.

I could not tell you the last time I sewed a button on a card. My twine is a bit too short but I couldn’t get it to lay right for the photo so I chopped it with scissors multiple times. 😆

If you place an order after clicking on one of the links below, I will receive a small commission, and also get to continue as an affiliate with Spellbinders at no cost to you. I certainly would appreciate any of your support! Thank you!

Follow Your Heart

Hello, I am thrilled to have been asked to extend my guest designer position at Pixi Dust Designs and want to say a huge thanks to Sandra and her partner in crime Melissa for your kindness and for keeping me on. You both have been so sweet and supportive.

Today I have the privilege to share a card using the gorgeous Bergenia Die Set. It is so pretty and so easy to layer. What I particularly thought was ingenious about the design is, the stamen part of the flower is two pieces and you don’t have to fuss with adding the small ends, just cut it out in two colors and layer it up. To be more clear, I cut it out in white and gold glitter paper and put the white piece over top so only the bits of the gold show.

I sponged everything with Simon Says Inks to give the flower some dimension. The sentiments comes in the set and it was cut from Spellbinders Glitter Paper.

The background is called Circle Quilt Covered Die and is from Altenew. When I cut it out it didn’t cut so well and I have had it lying on my desk for quite some time and thought this was the perfect time to use it. I like that some of the pieces are left inside. I don’t like wasting anything and glad I hung on to it. I layered it on top of a piece of navy cardstock.

What do you think of the petal that fell off the flower? I thought it added something to the base of the card and brought the eye down to the sentiment.

I am playing along with my friend Darnell over at NBUS. and at Addicted to Stamps and More as it is time for Die Cuts and or Stencils.

I am thrilled to have the opportunity to use Affiliate links for different companies and if you place an order after clicking on one of the links below, I will receive a small commission. I certainly would appreciate any of your support! Thank you!

Strut Your Stuff

Hello Friends, What do you do when an idea pops in your head for a card? Well, typically I write it down and wait until I have the time to make it. However, not for the card I have for you today! I dropped everything and pushed aside what I was working on and made it on the spot. I was too excited to see how it was going to turn out. I am once again using the Summer Time Wade Pool-SDOM.

How many of you out there when you were young did exactly what Ms. Hippo is doing with her floaties? I can remember doing this in a pool all the time! The object was to stack as many floats as you could, even if you had to raise your arms above your head. Well, Ms Hippo has tiny arms so 3 was her limit! LOL

Card Details:

  • Inked the background with torn paper and Oxide inks; Blue Sapphire and Antique Linen
  • Next, I used a very old SU stamp to give the sand some darker spots.
  • I cut out all the dies and inked up the Hippo and shaded the floats with Copic Markers.
  • I assembled the card and then felt it needed something else.
  • I pulled out the Spellbinder’s Day at the Beach set and made the blanket, the beach bag, and flip-flops.
  • I stamped the MFT-Beach Friends sentiment and cut it out using A2 Matting Basics Dies from Spellbinders.

HERE is the page where you can get a peek at all of the clubs along with some amazing samples. The Club kits will be available for purchase by subscription starting the 6th and run through the 27th. However, quantities are limited so if you are interested don’t delay.

I am linking my card up at the Four Seasons Challenge where they are looking for Summer cards.

If you place an order after clicking on one of the links below, I will receive a small commission, and also get to continue as an affiliate with Spellbinders at no cost to you. I certainly would appreciate any of your support! Thank you!

Double Stenciling

Hello, It is time for the next Topping at Seize the Birthday and Barb is our wonderful hostess. She wants us to do double Stenciling on our cards. What does that mean exactly…these are her words… I would like you to use a stencil and before you pick it up, place another one over the top and fill in it. Easy enough!

The hardest part for this Topping is figuring out which stencils to use. I again used the Smile die from Spellbinders that I am crushing on right now. I have it linked below.

Supplies: Peony Bouquet-SSS, Fluttering Hearts-Honey Bee Stamps, You Make Me Smile Sentiment Set-Spellbinders

I hope you will come by Seize the Birthday and check out all the cards from our DT and guest. We have Julia Aston joining us for the next two months. Welcome, Julia. Happy to have you!

Take care, Nanc’

Sea You Soon

Hello, Have you seen the Tunnel Scapes Collection from Spellbinders and Vicky Papaioannou? They are super fun and I have had the privilege this month to work with Underwater Tunnel and Underwater Marine Life. I have made two cards so far with these sets and am sharing just one here today.

I used some foam squares to give this card some dimension and make it look like the fish are hiding in a cavern. The little Color Essentials Gems are also new this month and are perfect for little air bubbles. I have used the color Capri Blue. The sentiment is from SSS. When I made this card the sentiment set that comes with this collection had not arrived.

Did you know that Spellbinders has gorgeous glitter paper and a new Guillotine Trimmer too? There are so many new products and tools on the website. I have everything I used linked below.

If you place an order after clicking on one of the links below, I will receive a small commission, and also get to continue as an affiliate with Spellbinders at no cost to you. I certainly would appreciate any of your support! Thank you!

Smile It Looks Good On You

Hello Friends, Hope you are having a good day! I have been quite busy with a slew of great products released by Spellbinders the past month. Today, I have something besides a card.

I knew I wanted to make a bookmark with the new 3 in 1 Tag Punch which is also among the tools that Spellbinders released this month. I love that you have three widths to pick from so you could layer them up if you wanted to.

Have you seen this month’s Dancin’ Watermelon? This little guy is FREE with the Deluxe Caboodle Club which includes ALL 10 Spellbinder’s Monthly CLUB Kits for a 60% OFF. Plus, you will receive this little die set for FREE along with ALL of the other club products. If it is something you might be interested in it is a great value!

I have also combined the Watermelon with the Stitched Edge Circle Backgrounds and my favorite You Make Me Smile Sentiment Set. I cut out an extra chevron circle in black and used a few strips on the bottom of my bookmark. The little glasses and hearts come with the watermelon set. I think it turned out pretty cute!

If you place an order after clicking on one of the links below, I will receive a small commission, and also get to continue as an affiliate with Spellbinders at no cost to you. I certainly would appreciate any of your support! Thank you!
