Color my world with family, friends and some time to be creative making cards!

Though we are not Together…

Hello,  I hope you are doing well and getting along okay!

Have you ever had a stamp set that you purchased that you thought you were going to love but can’t no matter how many times you’ve used it?  Well, this is one from MFT (Bold Blooms) is my arch-nemesis.  I have tried for years and years and every time I make a card with it it just falls flat.  I think it’s the flowers that are the problem as the leaves are pretty cool looking and easy to stamp. So bye-bye flowers and hello leaves from now on! LOL  Anyway, what I do love is the color trio going on over at The Paper Players. This is one of my favorite challenge sites and I play along as often as I can.  I made the background paper using my SU-Buffalo Check stamp and a lime green Copic. I warned you a few days ago that I was hooked on backgrounds. The sentiment is a digital download that Stampin UP is offering and all proceeds ($12.00) go to either the United Way or the World Health Org.  I have linked it up for you HERE!  They have a lot of cute sentiments and if you download them as a JPEG you can resize them and move them around.  I also used a SU brick wall EF for my white rectangle in case you can’t tell.

I hope you have had or will have a creative day and thanks for the sweet comments as of late, Nanc’

  1. Very pretty. I love this color combo too. Your background looks great, and I like the flowers too. I have that problem with flower stamps sometimes and I think it is because they are flat and we are used to the flowers have dimension or layers. That is my thoughts on it.
    Have a great day.

  2. So beautiful. I love the plaid and those flowers looks so wonderful framed by the panel behind them.

  3. Nancy, you would never know this stamp has caused you problems! I absolutely LOVE your card. That plaid background is amazing! I love the dimension the embossed panel adds to your card. The sentiment is so perfect for the times we are living! So happy you joined my color challenge at The Paper Players this week!

  4. That’s fabulous how you turned the buffalo check into a plaid, I must borrow that technique my friend LOL! I get what you’re saying about certain stamp sets, I have a few of those too. But I love how your flowers worked on the side of the rectangle, along with those pretty leaves. Always great to see your pretty cards in the Player’s gallery Nancy!

  5. I absolutely love everything about this card! You’ve combined all the colors in such a fabulous way! Look at that preppy plaid, and those big bold flowers….it all just ties together nicely with that heart sentiment! Great job! Thanks for sharing this with us at the Players this week!

  6. Great card love the colors

  7. I am loving that background stamp and how you make it so versatile. The colors are so happy and I would not have guessed that you had trouble with the flowers. Great sentiment and I must get over to use them. I made fours cards yesterday and there is till so much to do. I even mailed one! Lol

  8. I too have a couple of stamps that never please me, Nancy, although I think yours look wonderful. But then I’m looking mainly at that fabulous plaid.

  9. Congrats on your win at The Paper Players………be still my heart…….PLAID!!!! I absolutely LOVE this card, a winner for sure!!!
