Brick Wall Technique

Happy Day Friends,

Stick with me… lots of photos with this post and

some added links to get you hooked up to try it yourself!

I am really excited to share with you today a technique that I have

never tried before.  I am determined to take more liberties to get out

of my comfort zone when it comes to being creative and this technique

I found over at the Friday Mashup was perfect to get me started.

It also gave me a great excuse to color with my Spectrum Noir pens

and use a much neglected stamp that I purchased over a year ago that

I had never used and was always petrified to ink up!

I paired this great technique up with the Sketch over at Seize the Birthday.

A masterpiece always starts off with a great sketch…..right? wink wink

Are you intrigued?  Here is a link to the Brick Wall Technique!

Just a side note…I did my entire card before I looked at the Tutorial!

Yeah…it’s true! LOL

I can definitely see some things that would have made this a tad easier.

I loved every minute of it and if I don’t stop rambling…

I will not get it linked up in time…2 hours and counting!!!

Here are a few card details, but if you have any questions or some pointers…

give me a holler!

Thanks for listening,

Lots of patience. :)

So Very Blessed…

This post title is so very spot on today and everyday for that matter!!

I am truly Blessed with the wonderful son god has given me!!  Having

him home this summer and being able to share the joys and

accomplishments of his day at work is something I look forward to

each and every night around the dinner table.

Not to mention, he helps me prepare dinner and is really getting good at

firing up that grill and making some tasty meals.

Ty, I couldn’t be more proud of you, your work ethic, and the

man you are becoming!!

But that is not why you stopped in now is it?

Sorry, but us moms gotta brag once in a while! (wink wink)

Let’s hop on over to today’s card that all started with the sketch over at

CAS(E) this Sketch. It intrigued me the second I layed eyes on it.

You should see what some of the designers and participants have

done with it….really inspirational stuff!

So if your MOJO needs a tune up…..go have a peek…it’s bound to help!

I have linked it up for you twice!

I am not sure this card is fabulous…but it’s the first time I have ever stamped

the entire background of a card before.  I have seen it done so many times, but

it is not as easy as it looks.  I have seen it with random colors throughout,

and the other day on Pinterest I saw it done by lumping the like colors together.

I think the stamp selection is key to this endeavor and I vow to you and

well you….lol….I will not let this card defeat me and will try this again very soon!

Details:

The stamps are random of this and that and all the ink is from SU.

Added some ribbon, the sentiment, and a strip of paper

cut with my Fiskars Victorian blade to finish it off!

Have a wonderful hump day!

Fusion and some Bling…

Greetings…Stamping Friends,

Today’s post is for 2 challenges….the first is the great sketch challenge over at Fusion.

I opted to do the sketch instead of the photo this time!

If you have never played along …you need to!!  So fun!

The bling goes along with the challenge over at The Paper Players.

Here are some details of how this card came together….very quickly I might add!

First, I took a piece of SU white cardstock and stamped my script with versamark.

Then, I heat embossed it with white embossing powder.

Next, I sponged it with Wisteria Wonder SU ink.  I tried to do light to dark, but got a little carried away. :)

Finally, I stamped the flower images on each panel in the same ink.

The floral stamp I used I just picked up from Hobby Lobby this weekend.

The wavy wheat  ( as it is called) I have had for quite sometime.

Added some bling and the sentiment from Close To My Heart.

I have linked up both blogs for you either by the words or just click right on the image!

Have a marvelous day…so glad you dropped by!

Father’s Day…

While the dessert is baking in the oven and the men in my life are on

the golf course…I thought I would take a minute and post the

card I made for my Hubby, for my son to give to him, at his request.

It goes along with the Father’s Day Theme over at

The Pink Elephant.

Here is my inspiration card I found on Pinterest.

This one is so amazing…not like mine…which is just okay! :/

starsstripsnephewwmw_by_Wendybell

The reds on my cards look a little orange…must be the lighting.

It is so much fun working with an old book…I do enjoy that!

After I took the photo I realized the script on the card says ” Weird”

right under the large star….What’s funny about it is that is my hubby to a tee.

I am not trying to be mean it’s just the truth…. lol!

If you look to the left it also says ” Smiling” which describes him too

so I feel better now.  LOL

Here is the Link and photo of what is smelling up my house

and making me drool…..YUM!

Today I was feeling a tad better…so I thought I would get up from

the couch and my heating pad and try to make a quick card.

I was looking through my top challenge sites and decided

that Addicted to CAS was the one for me today.

ATCAS - code word circleMy card started very clean and simple and then…

I stamped the sentiment crooked, I smudged my ink and got it all

over my card , and soon realized I should have stayed on the couch. LOL

So what started out CAS got a little more layered.

So ladies over at Addicted to CAS…If this doesn’t quite qualify as Clean and Simple

I SOOO Understand!!!

Not sure if you can tell by my photo, but I used my Scor-pal again

and separated the card in different quadrants.

If you haven’t checked out Addicted to CAS…go have a look!

I have linked up their image for you!

and always stocks several thousand kawaii products.  Modes4u is an official San-X online retailer offering free international shipping for purchases over EUR 60 / US$78 / ₤ 54.

The online shop is especially active in the field of social media, having more than 60,000 Fans on Facebook, over 4,000 followers on Twitter and an English and German company blog.
